Oh My Yarn!!! I stopped using foundation chains a few year ago but NEVER thought to carry them, over to a graphghan!! I’m having such a DUH moment right now! Thank You so much! 🎉🎉🎉
Lol. "Start with something small and simple" That made me laugh - because I didn't! I made a C2C camouflage blanket for my nephew, that had 4 colours and ended up being 60"x60" ! I took meages, but looked really good and he loves it
Do you always start a graph pattern in the bottom right or bottom left corners, depending on if you are right or left handed? I have a graph pattern with 120 rows but the first row is at the top. Everything I've been seeing shows that you start from the bottom and work up.
I use a few different brands depending on which colors I need, I have a blog post about some of go-to yarns: www.willowcrochet.com/5-yarns-i-use-for-graphgans-and-why-i-love-them/
Most yarn labels have a recommended hook size so that's an excellent place to start. However, some projects require smaller or larger hooks, amigurumi for example usually use smaller hooks. You can also check the gauge listed in the pattern and use trial and error to work out the hook size.
I am learning how to do this with a name . Two colors . How do I make a graph for it is the problem iam having . Any tips would be appreciate it. It's a baby blanket with a name .

I pretty much always design mine to start at the bottom but there’s no reason why they can’t start at the top. What’s the pattern you’re working on?
This is lovely! What brand yarn do you use? 😊

What size crochet hook to use when pattern doesn't list it?

loved the video. so the stitch used is by choice? single or idc
Yep, sc or hdc both work. However, if you’re following a pattern, make sure to use the same stitch as the pattern.
