This song reminds me of being 14 years old in the summer of 1986, a totally carefree summer. I've mostly stayed that way, even though I'm 50 this year. Great work, gentlemen. I'll always come back to this video, there will always be a part of 1986 in my world!
KnudsenEntertainment. Yes your words of Gareth playing lead guitar are absolutely right! A brilliantly gifted man, and such a great pleasure to watch and hear a guitarist playing from his heart and soul, that's unusual! He is the only guitarist that watching and hearing him making his guitar talk put a big lump in my throat and my eyes filled with such emotional good tears! Beautiful playing!!! Gareth's a lovely chap too, a solid good man! JB. Surrey. UK.
@@johnbridges6867 Gareth is good, very good, but he was not in the band when this was a hit and did not create the original riffs. That guitarist sadly passed in 2002.
@@elvissadsongspresley5913 He joined after the sad passing of lead guitarist Kevin MacMichael. I used to watch Gareth play guitar regularly in the early 90's with resident live band 'Morgan's Every Which Way' at Sheddings Club (Watersheddings, ex Oldham Rugby League Club ground) in my hometown of Oldham, Greater Manchester. Had some great times here on Friday/Saturday nights.
At the risk of being diagnosed with OCD I just watched Gareth again. And I could watch him again all night. I have never seen anyone play like that, not even Jimmy Page, Clapton, Ron Wood, Keith Richards, or Stevie Ray Vaughn RIP Stevie.
Something magical about being in your senior year in high school and the best song ever comes out that summer. I feel like "I just died in you arms" belongs to the summer of 87, the class of 87, but I can't be so selfish. It belongs to all of us. What a gift from God and the Cutting Crew.

In Japan the highest honor for an audience to appreciate the performance is silence. Stunned and speechless silence. That is probably what is occurring here as a mix of both
As Gareth's solo slowly morphed into the iconic melody, few people standing there in the audience had any idea of the mastery they were witnessing. Sheer brilliance.
The combination between the keys and that electric sound screaming out of the guitar is sureal, your absolutely correct thou the mastery that took place is nothing short of amazing I am sure we only wished we were there to witness that live!!
Ryan McFarren kinda makes me wish I was around for it. I feel like I really missed out. I could never really connect with many kids my age, and all the adults thought I was just trying to be cool liking the old stuff. I certainly understand secretly liking this while being a metalhead.

Metal Mania You feel lost, you're not ONLY one, I just go about my day, doing what I plan, trying to ignore others, not easy, but it works, I think?! As far as I can tell. Hope this helps out. Does it?
I FULLY AGREE WITH YOU!!
Almost end of 2024. What a year huh? I say buckle up for next year. Remember music is the best therapy. Hope all the best for whoever is reading this in the coming year.
И вас с наступившим, главное гармония души !

How have I only just found this in 2023. Amazing, up there with Gilmore and Clapton in all time greatest live guitar performances
Girl I'm glad you found it ! It's beautiful!
Who's Gilmore?
David Gilmore (Pink Floyd)
@@pashmee It should be David Gilmour not Gilmore.
Because of the misspelled Gilmour what came to my mind was Ritchie Blackmore who is also considered as a guitar god.
I never get tired of listening to this, how the heck did they manage to make this song even better than it was?!?!? It's an absolute masterpiece!! Timeless!!
Yes you are right l agree.
Back when people had real talent !
Absolutely!
Best version ever 👍
@@gerhardmoritz7781 Agreed
Here in June 2024. - still loving this great masterpiece

I had NO IDEA this song could be this incredible live. Wow.
This version is so beautiful, tears running down my cheeks
Got beer running down my cheeks! Great performance!
Undoubtedly, the best 12 minutes I spent in quarantine by far
HerneeMix Quite Agree all day long.. xxx
Amen!
Indeed. And long before lockdown too. This is quality, no argument
Me too UK.
I concur
I'm an 80's heavy metal guy.......but holy crap, this was good !!! you can see and hear the passion in both the beginning solos....Best, Steve USA
This is the best live performance on UA-cam. Period.
one of the best live versions of one of the best songs ever. i must've watched it 50 times.
True
Ditto!
Right there with you!! I recently discovered this version... WOW it is AMAZING and I can’t get enough! Especially the lead guitarist, Gareth Moulton.... crazy talented!!! I loved this song back in 1987 but even more so today! 👍🏼👍🏼
Me too and how I miss the 80s and I was in my 40s then! Just divorced having the time of my life!
Bet I have watched it 100 times. I actually went to Nicks house and built his new office/recording studio, just thought I would chuck that in there.
I'm 59 and I can say that it's a feeling I've never known since listing to this masterpiece with Nicole in 87 I'm so grateful with the time and music we spent together...... how things and times define us but we don't know none of this at the moment....... Awesome 👍 Music..
Same😮😊
This performance makes me glad to be old!
age is just a number
Music like this is a gift from God
I just witnessed twelve and a half minutes of pure magic.
Amen...I'm awestruck.
When an artist can make the live version sound even better, this is gold! & the guitar work is AMAZING!!!!!
Magical
Totally agree 💯
This isn't no shit a lot of times the live version doesn't do no justice to the recording studios version
Stunning performance. He is in love with his guitar, the harmony and the blending; playing while singing!!
Totally agree!
WHO IS STILL LISTENING TO THIS CLASSIC IN JUNE 2021
Wow 👏
In july😊

lots of us like you, love good music .take care.
The intro with guitar was next level all day every day and forever! Just amazing talent and flavor!❤😊
I cried..brilliant musicianship...song is Immortal..band is Timeless
This song reminds me of being 14 years old in the summer of 1986, a totally carefree summer. I've mostly stayed that way, even though I'm 50 this year. Great work, gentlemen. I'll always come back to this video, there will always be a part of 1986 in my world!
Oh yessssss. Oh yes 1986!
i was four years older than you and in the Army. this song speaks to alot of us!
Turning 50 myself this year and still loving the 80’s!
Same here, just it 50 this past June. Great times we lived in for sure.
@Pete L, comment 4 months ago, which means you’re 70 not 49 or 50
I came here to listen to that catchy 80's pop song and was gifted with a four-minute Pink Floyd-esque guitar solo. Epic
Agreed!! Love the Gilmour vibe!
Doesn’t get any better than this! Here’s to a great 2025
That intro is bad ass, had me on the edge of my seat. Then the vocals came, and the whole band. Fantastic!
nobody cares
@Neil Quizon ya me too

God... he can play that guitar...
One of the strongest live performances I've ever seen❤❤❤

KnudsenEntertainment.
Yes your words of Gareth playing lead guitar are absolutely right! A brilliantly gifted man, and such a great pleasure to watch and hear a guitarist playing from his heart and soul, that's unusual!
He is the only guitarist that watching and hearing him making his guitar talk put a big lump in my throat and my eyes filled with such emotional good tears! Beautiful playing!!!
Gareth's a lovely chap too, a solid good man!
JB. Surrey. UK.
John Bridges 👍
@@johnbridges6867 Gareth is good, very good, but he was not in the band when this was a hit and did not create the original riffs. That guitarist sadly passed in 2002.
Can't stop listening to this....sounds as good as it did back in the 80s, maybe even better
Glad to be alive to listen to this, we are blessed.
Gareth moulton is a guitarist from another universe. Just have to keep watching him in this amazing piece of music.
Was he in the band, i have never heard off him very gd though
@@elvissadsongspresley5913 He joined after the sad passing of lead guitarist Kevin MacMichael. I used to watch Gareth play guitar regularly in the early 90's with resident live band 'Morgan's Every Which Way' at Sheddings Club (Watersheddings, ex Oldham Rugby League Club ground) in my hometown of Oldham, Greater Manchester. Had some great times here on Friday/Saturday nights.
The first four minutes are pure magic. And then it gets even better.
Drew S actually people that pay to see their favorite artists love that kind of stuff.
Well that was unexpected.
Could have done with less of the jazz interpretation after the rocking intro.......
Is that a Taylor he’s playing?
Mavis Davis
So far from Jazz my friend
Listening to this magnificent song in July 2024…

August 2024. Sadly, my kids will never know truly great music like this.
What a singer!
What a guitarist!
What a band!
What a magnificent song!
What about the drummer?
What a memory
Guitarist: Gareth Moulton
Their only good song though!!!
One of my All Time Favourite Song ever
70s and 80s music is timles! This song represents in the best way the mood of those two decades! Priceless!
I am so glad I grew up in amongst it all.
The best music ever ,those were the days
When you realize you're not the only one stoned and randomly finding this song 20 years later and now your mind is blown. Brilliant.
Love your work dude.
Have you listened to pink Floyd, set the controls for the heart of the sun, live in pompeii
48 yrs old that was my beginning of being a musician. Didn’t make millions but still love to play.
This version gets better every time.. Gareth is up there with the best.
I love this version of this song. It truly shows their talents.
Grande som
At the risk of being diagnosed with OCD I just watched Gareth again. And I could watch him again all night. I have never seen anyone play like that, not even Jimmy Page, Clapton, Ron Wood, Keith Richards, or Stevie Ray Vaughn RIP Stevie.
and david gilmore too
I knew Hendrix and saw him play a few times he had a mind for music and that's all he was about. A shame managers and others steered him incorrectly
Something magical about being in your senior year in high school and the best song ever comes out that summer. I feel like "I just died in you arms" belongs to the summer of 87, the class of 87, but I can't be so selfish. It belongs to all of us. What a gift from God and the Cutting Crew.
This version is ridiculously wicked! Wow love these re-touches of the classic 80’s songs-this is how music is supposed to be
GREATEST MUSIC OF ALL TIME / 70'S / 80'S
One of my all time live or extended versions of a song ever, its sucks you in and doesn't let go.😊
Buenos soy de chile una csncion hrrmosa
This song is 36yrs old but sounds fresh and modern and still provides the obligatory chills down the neck and goosebumps...Rockin' out in 2022 to a song that rocked the 80's...Timeless classics don't get any more better than this..turn up the volume so your neighbours can hear it loud and clear!! Rejoice peoples!!
I miss the 80s...I listen to this version regularly. Its strange to hear music I grew up to on classic rock radio but at least we know they're timeless. 🤘
@@TheJustJoe Yeah m8, l pine for the 80's too, great decade to have experienced growing up, with 80's style and fashion being at the forefront never to be matched again.
Chills! Correct!
Couldn't have said it any better
Thank you
Been my all time favourite
Listening to the song Sep 2024 still gives me goose bumps
A classic indeed
Iam 60 now
Been listening to the song from the day it was released and everytime I feel high
Most amazing intro, has pink Floyd vibes and it just sounds amazing. You guys are truly awesome. I'm 42 years old and appreciate all that you do thank you.
Yep
I had exactly the same thought. Although I'm 24 and not many people my age listen to Pink Floyd haha
I wrote mine before I read this. 100% 👍
Yes, thought it was Gilmour for a second.
@@ghoppr71 Very Floyd, I thought the same....
I had no idea they were such great musicians capable of such an intro. Always thought of them as just another 80s pop band. I'm so impressed!
They have certainly refined their sound haven't they? I guess back then I looked at them same as you.
80’s musicians were a talented bunch, still are.
80'S musicians are very talented. Almost all wrote their own songs, and could play several different instruments.
Most people had to be very talented to get into a band that time
The 80s were great
Always here for this perfection of the art of music. Best live on the net.
This whole song is TRUE musicianship. On every level
Best rendition and performance of this song I have ever heard. Masterpiece. It has such an atmosphere about it.❤️
It's the blue stage lites and smoke machine. Rock on!
Verdade.
Tem algo de especial nessa versao.
A screaming guitar intro followed by a sultry acoustic guitar and brilliant singing and lyrics. I love this version. It's a masterpiece.
All 3 versions were great!
@@brianm572 What's the 3rd version?
@@thumpertorque_ there is an ‘instrumental version’ still has the great guitars but cello and other strings also.
Fantastic song from Cutting Crew, and it goes for so much longer than the radio version of the 80's I am here in 2024 still listening
I don't think the crowd gave Gareth the recognition he deserved for that brilliant guitar solo. He deserved a bigger applause than that!
He certainly did , awesome from PF to that intro for Nick, pretty amazing
Thats wat so amazing solo guitar
In Japan the highest honor for an audience to appreciate the performance is silence. Stunned and speechless silence. That is probably what is occurring here as a mix of both

pr0metheeus this in Germany dude 😂😂😂
Beautiful. The lead guitar player was phenomenal! Best version I've heard.

As Gareth's solo slowly morphed into the iconic melody, few people standing there in the audience had any idea of the mastery they were witnessing. Sheer brilliance.
..got THAT right.
True!
A bit condescending if i may add
Chills!
The combination between the keys and that electric sound screaming out of the guitar is sureal, your absolutely correct thou the mastery that took place is nothing short of amazing I am sure we only wished we were there to witness that live!!
Yes I am listening June 2021. Absolutely the sweetest rock ‘n’ roll of my life. I am 58 years old and have loved this music for almost 40 years.!

Salute ! You guys are the Legends ! ! !
I was into metal in this era, but secrety loved this music also. Amazing guitar work. God bless the 80's. Nothing Compares.
Ryan McFarren kinda makes me wish I was around for it. I feel like I really missed out. I could never really connect with many kids my age, and all the adults thought I was just trying to be cool liking the old stuff.
I certainly understand secretly liking this while being a metalhead.
A good song is a good song! The true test is its ability to transcend time! Guilty pleasures are so much fun to have and this one is up rhere with me too! Right next to THE CALL OF KTULU, LAYLA and many more! Its not a secret anymore, buddy, doesnt that feel god to admit!
Nothing Compares.2 u ?
Ryan McFarren That is fun; my 14 years son is into metal but he loves this song
Sounds like hibiki ryoga's theme in Ranma 1/2
I've just died in your arms tonight... I'm in love with this masterpiece 😍
When you dare to sing the acoustic version because you know good and damn well your voice is still as smooth as it was in 1987. 💥😍😘😏
