I heard myself say, "What the hell is that noise? You can't even understand a word they're saying! I had a sudden flash that my father had said the same thing, and immediately realized that I had to do something. I grabbed "Dark Side of the Moon", headed down the hall and opened his door and said, "here, put this on!" He did. It was incredibly heart warming to realize that he fell in love with it. All music is real music. Stop invoking your own version of the true Scotsman fallacy. And newer generations won't get into Pink Floyd for the sake reasons you didn't get into 1600s church music. You didn't grow up with it. You think pink Floyd is true music and for generations to come because that's how you feel. But if we could ask someone from the past they would miss the music they grew up with the same way you'll miss Pink Floyd.

You chose to fight pointless wars for hawkish polticians. No one forced you. I hate when people act like they are so devastated after returning from a war that they signed up for fighting in the first place. That's like putting my hand in the meat grinder and then expecting people to feel sorry for me. Smh.
If more people were like me wars wouldn't exist. I'll never thank any veteran for their service because doing so means I have to accept the premise of whatever war they fought in and the premises for all th US wars are of corporate nature. No thank you. I shake my head and think "how stupid ppl are to throw their lives away for a hawkish government". I was smarter than that. Fuck ears and fuck the military in every country. Fuck all people who sign up to go to war. So stupid. So fucking stupid.

Music does reach through dementia and connect us to our loved ones. One time in her nursing home, I sung a line to my mother who had severe dementia..."I'm an old cowhand, on the Rio Grande..." She pulled herself upright in her wheelchair and proudly shouted out the next line, "and my legs ain't bowed, and my cheeks ain't tanned." Lordy I didn't even remember that, but someone who never spoke awakened to herself and her memories, if even for only a few minutes. Bless you and your love for your dad.
