On the other hand we also got to know Bill Cosby a bit better as well as the lovely Darlie Routier. So I suppose "You can take the good, you take the bad, you take the rest and there you have..." After that note I love Pink Floyd that much more!

Beautiful story ad! Quite some years back I heard my son of early teens blaring Twisted Sister (or Bent Brother, not sure) from his bedroom through his new stereo (that's what we used to call them). I heard myself say, "What the hell is that noise? You can't even understand a word they're saying! I had a sudden flash that my father had said the same thing, and immediately realized that I had to do something. I grabbed "Dark Side of the Moon", headed down the hall and opened his door and said, "here, put this on!" He did. It was incredibly heart warming to realize that he fell in love with it. Yes, Pink Floyd has done wonderful things for this world...

Growing up my dad always played The Wall. I could not stand it as a kid. The babies crying, loud ship and crash sounds, but as I got older the band became one of my favourites. We got to see Roger Water's The Wall in 2010 in Toronto together, a night i'll never forget. I lost my dad in 2012 but he's always around when Pink is playing.

"Roger calls group hug" - that moment, it was that friggin' moment, they could have done it. It wasn't even a matter of money, if they wrote a new album together it would simply obliterate all charts worldwide. All that effin' bad blood. Now Rick is gone, Nick is retired, David just sporadically writes stuff with his daughter and Roger does nostalgia tours. They could do it, that moment at time. This timeline, just a few nudges to the right direction(s) and so much more great music would be given to the world.

She pulled herself upright in her wheelchair and proudly shouted out the next line, "and my legs ain't bowed, and my cheeks ain't tanned." Lordy I didn't even remember that, but someone who never spoke awakened to herself and her memories, if even for only a few minutes. Bless you and your love for your dad.

That's like putting my hand in the meat grinder and then expecting people to feel sorry for me. Smh.
If more people were like me wars wouldn't exist. I'll never thank any veteran for their service because doing so means I have to accept the premise of whatever war they fought in and the premises for all th US wars are of corporate nature. Strange there's got to be more to this concert. Echoes is one of my favourite songs. I'm a drummer and love playing with my headphones on listening on UA-cam. There's a concert Dave plays Echoes last time before Rick dies and there's a sit in drummer that is dull, he doesn't play all the fills at all, I was I was playing I'd play it just Nick did at Pompeii.

Look at the sheer determination of all four guys in the last solo. They are all deep in the ”Zone”. Richard is almost hurting his back with his passionate moves behind the keyboards. Roger is clenching his jaws and playing the life out of that bass. David has got the ”thousand-yard-stare”,and has merged with the music, way out in space or other dimensions. Nick throws his headphones and later shows a awesome ”fighting-face” , shredding the skin of those poor drums.
YEAH , they know it is the last time.

Wish You Were Here always gets to me. It reminds me of my Granny (she took care of me most of my life) who passed away 6 years ago. She was the one who introduced me to Floyd. When I was in my early to mid teens, she bought me The Wall and DSOTM for Christmas. I gave her a look like, wth is this? Before I could say anything, she said, "Go to your room, lay down, put on your headphones, and just listen. Trust me, you'll love it."
I did. In fact, I did more than that. I cried; cried tears of joy for listening to the most beautiful music in the world for the first time in my life. When I finished listening to both albums, I went downstairs with a smile on my face. My Granny smiled back at me and said, "See? What did I tell you?"
I remember us watching Live 8 together on the TV. We loved every second of PF's performance, agreeing that it was a great idea that they were one of the last acts because you MUST save the best for last.
I love you, Granny. I wish you were here.

Only Pink Floyd can turn 4 songs into a 23 minute concert, and have every single minute be worth it.

You need to check out the jam band scene. I LOVE Pink Floyd but there's a bunch of bands that play single songs over 20 minutes that are fire from start to finish and leave you wanting more!

The last solo on comfortably numb is magically epic on this session, because all band members are giving it their all funneling their long history of musical exploration in this one moment of time. They know that this is the last song, and the last time they may ever play together again. They needed to play out that perfect musical dynamic they have and will always have together, one last time.

Tears, chills, goosebumps, respect, admiration, awe, and sadness......all a result of watching Pink Floyd, and knowing they will no longer be playing together. The greatest live band of their time.

I have to interject that the Grateful Dead was the greatest LIVE band of any time. However, Pink Floyd is their own genre of music, and therefore has no equal. Furthermore, don't be sad at what passes away from this life, just be happy that you had part of "their season" with them, and that we can now have these videos at our disposal to watch again when we want.

To young, they were in Wien 94. Division Bell tour, that was nearest, I'm from Zagreb and then 13 years old
      And what happend
Nick Mason came to Zagreb last year with Saucerful tour and I played old songs, first 4 albums, before Dark Side
You can't imagine how happy I was

Missed The Wall as i was at school and couldn't get away, friend gave away my ticket. Sold my Division Bell tickets as my wife was giving birth....but 3 days later, their last night at Earls Court, she sent me packing and I bought a ticket outside which nearly required a mortgage and took all the cash I had. Came out to find my car had been towed away. BUT it was amazing and so glad I went. Phenomenal, edge of seat stuff. Well worth it despite the cost and some comments over the years from 'er indoors!

i think people probably had an idea. they were already getting pretty old by then and even if they put their differences aside for this, it wasn't exactly rekindled friendship. it would have been nice though if there were another reunion; if rick lived longer, perhaps there could have been. i would have loved to see them all play echoes again
