    This video speaks to me so well.
    Decathalon opened up here about 2 years ago. Their abrasion line in 12lb makes for great bass fishing.
    Plus my favourite rod that I own is their house brand wixom-1 in 9ft.
    Secondly co-polymer is a common line type for carp fishing here in South Africa. Most of the local companies produce low test rated (5lb, 7lb, 8lb) coploymer lines for carp fishing.
    Just sits so well on the bottom, smooth to cast 80+ meters with a shock leader. Lets you fight past the nicks and tears you might pick up. Easy to tie.
    Just a great all around line

    I was personally introduced to Copolymers in the 90's with "Berkley Trilene Tournament Strength". I wish they still made it. As to Copolymers in general I totally agree, Great Lines!
    I saw the title and said I've got to see this, Great Video! Turns out your Canadian, ME TOO! From Toronto.

    Tried Sufix Advance for the first time near the end of the season, seems good. More sensitive than mono for detecting bites I think. Once the 2023 fishing season rolls around I’ll be able to assess it better. I was only able to catch a few fish before the ice started coming around

    I would like to commend you, good sir on your fine choice of music for your video’s introduction. Practice What You Preach by TestAmenT still shreds. \m/

    Good presentation, put though the unfamiliar type lines closer to camera for identification.

    I would say you got a bad batch of the Yo-zuri hybrid. Give it another chance. On most of my gear I use Yo-zuri hybrid line and have caught a lot of hard fighting, brute redfish here on the Gulf Coast. This line is very, very strong. Trust me...watch some of my videos. Tight lines!

    I use Big Game for salmon fishing. But that is on a conventional reel which is larger than a bait caster so it is not wound on as tightly (spool diameter). Of course one does not really cast a conventional reel like a bass rod. It makes a difference. I have not used copolymer but I would like to give it a try. I use braid for jigging walleye.

    I noticed the same thing with the yo-zuri tying knots but. P-line floroclear is my choice personally

    Im stuck on Pline Cxx… one day I was using 10 pound test and I caught about five 15-20 pound chinook salmon spawning under docks (which they were getting the line wrapped around). By the last one all my line had was couple kinks in it, not even a knick.

    Coplymer (Kastking) ... slip if I used two or more hooks.. One hook -- very good.

    P line tactical is good stuff for fluro. Very Abraision resistant. Sunline sniper best casting hands down

      try it and tell me what you think. It's a little stiffer than mono..keep that in mind.

    • @experimentalfishing1292

      noted.... I tried the PLine andone thing it's tuff and knot strength is up there, but found it to have too much memory causing fluffs and backlashes easier. So I will try the Suffix next summer...right now it's snowing :(

    I have the 8lb on my baitcaster and it's super smooth and also on spinning reals little to no memory.

    • @experimentalfishing1292
      @experimentalfishing1292  3 роки тому

      I'll try the left over P-Line on my spinning and I'll put that Suffix on one of my baitcasters

  • @christopherarmstrong9815

    I only use copolymer line. I have used yozuri hybrid and have had great success with 8lb. It could have been an old spool that you got. Gamma line also has a very good copolymer line called polyflex. I don't understand why there is so much push for fluorocarbon and braid other than more profits.

      been testing other brands like PLine CXX and Berkley Fluroshield. I hate the PLine CXX. Way too stiff. I put some on my baitcaster and either it fluffs alot or backlashes. Then I put some on my spinning reel..... sucks even more. It's a shame cuz the line is so strong. The Fluroshield is nice.

    I’ve heard it explained that modern monofilament and copolymer fishing line are the same thing because modern monofilament is made from multiple nylon fiber types (exactly the same as copolymer), but mono used to be made from a single nylon type. Using the term copolymer these days is a marketing term to wring more money out of people based on the fact it used to be a premium product compared to mono, but it no longer is.

    • @experimentalfishing1292
      @experimentalfishing1292  2 роки тому

      copoly is a bit stiffer than mono. My girlfriend uses mono only and I made her try 2 different copolies and she found it too stiff to her likings and went back to mono. When you try both of them on a baitcaster, you feel the difference. Copoly feels more like fluro. Nowa days I only use it on my spinning reel. I've gone braid on the rest of my rods with baitcasters.

    • @pingramnet
      @pingramnet Рік тому +1

      Respectfully, I disagree with that. I fished last year with both braid and mono (Zebco Canjun Red) and I caught a lot of fish on both. I enjoyed the sensitivity of the braid but it didn’t play well with my Zebco Bullet MG. Near the end of the season I switched to copolymer, much more sensitive than mono

      I've tied that one once or twice ;) Whats fun about that line is you can see your line thats out of the water, but once under water, it invisible :)..It's not copolymer but it's a nice mono :)

    Canadian amazon is shady for marking up prices on some things. Ive scene 60 doller reels being sold for 300 on there.

      yes...for example all Kastking products. I bought one of their reels on Ebay in Hong Kong. They were selling it $140 and I got it for $40, I wouldn't buy it again cuz it didn't last but thats besides the point. Shop around it's worth the time spent ;)

      never seen that brand before...sorry...as for ice fishing, I've never done it...I went threw the ice as a kid. So I never really looked at ice fishing stuff. I will make a video on 2 other copolymer lines..just gotta test them first;) Thanks for watching :)

    I never saw a copolymer fishing line that was any good. Soon as you nick it that’s the end of it because it will break every time. That’s why monofilament is much better .

      always depends what color line you get....I'm using smoke color in ultra clear water for bass and pike and it doesn't seem to bother them. I have clear on my spinning rod for ultra lite lures. I did use the P-Line in the gold color...the color was ok but I hated that line. Too much memory and backlash city. I hope this helps :)
