The reason why Okina has so many is because she is both final stage and extra boss.
The second runner-up used to be Kaguya because of all the sequential final cards she has.

Who wants *Lilly White* facts?
- Lilly White has appeared in 6 official games: PCB; PoFV; GFW; HM [Background]; HSiFS and UM, making her one of the most recurrent characters in the series.
- Lilly White is the most recurrent character to not have her own theme music.
- Lilly White is the most recurrent character to never have plot relevance
- Lilly White is the most recurrent character to not be playable
- Lilly White is the most recurrent character to never have dialogue.
- Until HSiFS; Lilly White was the most recurrent character to not have a spellcard. She still holds this record if you ignore HSiFS, as no other character has even approached this title.
- Strange Creators of Outer World confirms that Lilly Black is Lilly White in cosplay. So Lilly Black isn't actually a character. This is further confirmed in UM; where using the card that specifically summons Lilly White can sometimes summon her as "Lilly Black". This also explains why Lilly Black does not appear in Great Fairy Wars. Despite this; there was an appearance in an older manga; Silent Sinner in Blue; that shows both at the same time; which is likely an error. [And as ZUN's guidelines say, when two things contradict each other; the newest source wins.]
I didn't care about Lily until I played Touhou Puppet Dance Performance.
She's so good there. She holds the record for some stats too.
Another fact about Lilly White and correction for one of them
Lilly White was originally planned to be PCB's stage 4 boss, but Zun scraped this idea. He actually even composed her boss theme named "Flower of Past Days ~ Fairy of Flower" (過去の花 ～ Fairy of Flower) (so the fact about her having no theme is false), before it was scrapped. Zun is a guy who doesn't like when his hard work is wasted, so he instead released this unused PCB track in the Ghostly Field Club music album (track number 8).

Chimata have 10 colours on her sprite: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Light-blue, Blue, Violet, Pink, White and... Her shoes seems to have Magenta color.
If Alice thinks color is power, she needs to learn hexadecimal coding.

Despite ZUN deciding to make Okina's wheelchair a regular chair in HSiFS, later, in the manga, Okina is in a wheelchair again, so Okina is disabled and ZUN went back on his decision.
Okina's realms as a god also cover disability. She can choose to represent herself as such or not. I'm pretty sure that's how Okina 'works' in that regard.
That's actually most likely not ZUN's choice. According to his afterword in Wild and Horned Hermit, he writes the story itself but sends all dialogues and guidelines in text format, and leaves the mangaka free to portray the story however they think it's fit. So that wheelchair was most likely Mizutaki's idea, not ZUN's.
Which doesn't make it any less canon, since ZUN has stated that all manga are collabs and, therefore, whatever the artist does gets his seal of approvation.
@@normlaurant5881 A massive character trait wouldn't be left for the mangaka to decide on her own, if ZUN expressed cleary that he didn't want Okina to be in a wheelchair, that the artist would never go after it.
@@psychicfire8232 Not necessarily. ZUN has made it clear he doesn't like when Touhous are sexualized in official materials. Alphes still went and sexualized Yuugi and other characters in the early fighting games. Alphes' art was still released with those games as they were. Though, Alphes got permanently removed from contributing to the series after release and hasn't worked with ZUN since.
So, there must be more to it going on and Okina being in a wheelchair again really might be just Mizutaki's doing.
i mean. some wheelchair users aren't in them 24/7. my hc is that okina has to manually use magic to move her legs and isn't bothered doing so a lot of the time
Cool fact about Seija, her theme calls Reverse Ideology, and if you play the song back forward, will be the same as you play in normal song, very cool reference for her power indeed
Koishi's theme also does this, in this case being a reference to the practice of backmasking.
Here's a weird fact for you.
Ten Desires is the only game in the series which does not feature a single boss character with long hair.
(Futo's ponytail being a possible exception)
and Ten Desires is the first touhou game that feature synth trance.
and most importently ZUN has to do two versions of every song for the game. Miko is the only character in the game that does not have a spirite trance.

6:09 This isn't true. The fight does not take place under the pretense of it being a what if scenario and remains canonical (at least to PC98). Rika specifically mentions the following:
> "If only you'd chased me when I ran before, you would've been crushed by the might of my Flying Tank, Evil Eye Σ!!"
Which explains that the story takes place in a canon where Reimu did indeed leave Rika behind to enter the real Stage 2, and the fight takes place AFTER the conclusion of the story.
The "what if this was stage 2" is purely a joke by Reimu and Rika - a fourth wall break. Because it points out the absurdity if this had actually been the second stage:
Reimu: Besides, if I'd followed you when you ran, wouldn't this have been stage 2?
Rika: That's right.
Reimu: That would have been way too hard!!

I was under the impression the "Fate of 60 Years" was two events: The first being WWII including the atomic bombings that ended it. (As referenced by Cirno's dialog). The second being the Boxing Day Tsunami which occurred late December of 2004 and killed 227,898 people. The trial version of PoFV was released May of 2005.

Hisouten, touhou 10.5, is likely actually referring to the highest of the coloured layers of heaven. Hisoutensoku's title based on the letters actually referring to the one you mentioned in the video, while also being a sequel is commonly considered to be referring to the actual layer you mentioned in the video, fitting since it's a sequel it should be further ascended.

Weird Fact: Mokou is a reference to the Fuji Mountain
in the secret music comment of Reach For the Moon; Immortal Smoke, ZUN specifcally mentioned that how if the Fuji Mountain were to be errupted it would cost extreme dangers. Hints the fact that Mokou have fire powers, and the name Fuji no Mokou originates...

Here's a wild Touhou fact. Maribel Hearn could be a direct descendant of Yukari Yakumo. How?
Maribel's last name is Hearn. There was once a Greek writer called Lafcadio Hearn who went to Japan and immediately fell in love with the place. He wrote alot of accounts about his experience in Japan and eventually changed his last name to his wife's last name, Koizumi, and he named himself as.... Yakumo.
It is possible that Yukari Yakumo went out of Gensokyo in the 19th hundreds and married Lafcadio Hearn who she then instructed to change his name to Yakumo.
Lafcadio Hearn eventually had children. We can speculate that Maribel might the descendant of one Lafcadio Hearn's children.

@@kalimatronix in real life there exists wheelchair users who are also capable of walking in some circumstances. there are people who use their wheelchairs due to pain but that pain isn't present every single day. I think it was important for touhou to have some representation for this group.

Hell yeah on that first one, I'd always said I bet ZUN took inspiration from Pocky and Rocky but never bothered going to confirm. Makes sense especially with how radically different Pocky and Rocky was to normal shooters at the time

As far as I know, UFO is not the only game that was affiliated to the DarkHotel virus! Subterranean Animism also got the false postive and was also halted. While I'm not sure it was also a false positive for UFO, we know for sure that's the case for SA

14.in touhou SSiB,the rocket crew were pawns.due the fact that yukari used yuyuko and yomou in her plan's.while reimu,marisa,sakuya and remilia were fighting against watatsuki sister's.yuyuko and yomou were stealing oldest sake from lunarian's.because they were pure.
15.the only charecter's from EoSD and PCB that didn't appear in IaMP were:Rumia,Cirno,Flandre,Letty and prismiver's.

Another fact's:the only game's from touhou that reimu's ufoda's have many different varieties are:(HRTP)red/white/green/yellow/blue/purple/brown and(ISC)she has all the different varieties of ufoda charms that added to game.

9th:PoDD incident is purely non canon,due to fact that reimu in SG doesn't know what a robot is,even if PoDD was canon,she had rokotou a maid robot that looks really similar to VIVIT.marisa also doesn't have missile's at home,even tough she got one in PoDD called Mimi chan.ellen shop doesn't exist and kana haven't seen haunting haukurei shrine in window's era.so this incident is not canon,or happens in future.
10th:yumemi uses religious symbols for her attacks,such as her homing pentagram cross'es,to using star of david as bullet's.
11th:all kind of religion's exist in gensokyo,due to the east having it's own religion's, bhuddism,taoism,maniism,consfius,shinto and other religions,also due the french and salanish and british influence on east christianity exist's in gensokyo.

I mean, it's actually true (like how tf do you dodge a bullet if you can't see it). As a person who actually played WBaWC, thanks to its system - you don't see bullets as clearly as you could've as these effects are too bright and big, and with ZUN's later trend of making bullets near white and small - and you can get frustrated with it. You can argue that PC-98 games also suffer from this, but at least these bullets mostly weren't on bright, almost white background
Did you know that Okina Matara has the most connections in all of Gensokyo? Matarajin is a god in Tendai Buddhism, the secretary of the Yama, and the deified form of Hata no Kawakatsu. Kawakatsu was an official in Prince Shoutoku's court and was said to be the reincarnation of Omononushi, the spirit of Okuninushi that incarnated itself when Okuninushi's BFF, the inchling Sukuna Bikona, passed away. One time, when Sukuna Bikona fell ill, Okuninushi saved his life by letting him take an onsen bath -- this lead to Okuninushi and Bikona becoming regarded as gods of long life and Prince Shoutoku was a big worshipped of them in his pursuit of immortality. Okuninushi was the father of Takeminakata, a.k.a. Suwa Daimyoujin, (who, along with his wife, Yasakatome, is the basis for Kanako; Takeminakata was in one legend even said to have defeated an unruly frog spirit) and Kotoshiranushi (who has wildly been syncretized with Ebisu). Prior to being bestowed the name "Okuninushi" by Susanoo he was known as Onamuchi and was probably best known for being the man who saved the life of the White Hare of Inaba. Okuninushi/Onamuchi's Buddhist name is "Daikokuten" and he is also largely regarded as synonymous with both Inari and Mahakala, the incarnation of time and most powerful form of Shiva from Hinduism. Matarajin also has a "true form" as Kojin, a.k.a. Sanmen Daikoku, three-headed Daikoku, who was variously described as having the faces of Daikoku (duh), Bishamon, and Benzaiten (Benben's namesake), or Shoten (Ganesha), Benzaiten, and Dakini/Inari (Daikoku-on-a-fox). This three-headed form was otherwise known as Koujin, the god of the hearth, or Yashajin, the God of Yaksha. The Yaksha were the spirits that the Oni were based on. Perhaps it's not so strange then that Daikoku's most recognized artifact was the Miracle Mallet, typically regarded as an Oni artifact.

I knew... about half of these facts. However, I may be able to add a few wacky facts of my own:
Originally, there were going to be more characters in Hisoutensoku, including Wriggle and Kaguya.
Reimu and Marisa's themes Dichromatic Lotus Butterfly and The Witches Ball both debuted in Seihou Shuusou Gyoku's Extra Stage. Their Windows-era designs also debuted in this game.
Reimu's arsenal is almost entirely outsourced to youkai, with the exception of her talismans.
Despite the Spell Card Duels being implemented in order to protect humans and youkai, the Grimoire of Usami specifically has people's safety being threatened by Spell Cards.
ZUN has a habit of creating "2-part plots" that start in 1 piece of media and end in another, such as the Izanagi Objects, the Occult Balls and Toutetsu (kinda grasping for straws on this one, but it works).
Despite having not appeared in Highly Responsive to Prayers, Marisa is actually tied with Reimu for most appearances in the Touhou games, as the latter is absent in 12.8.
The entire Religious War "arc" can be traced back to Kanako! (This is what spawned the "Moriya Shrine Conspiracy" meme.)
The only character canonically undefeated throughout all of Touhou media is Watatsuki no Yorihime.

While it was the debut of Windows Reimu; Marisa's appearance was not the same as Windows Marisa. Unless Windows Marisa can spawn *Flandre's Wings from her hips* [Her dress also looks a bit different, but that varies anyway from game to game]. Her hat also dosen't quite appear to be like the modern Marisa, but that could just be ZUNArt. Marisa also notably lacks her broom [Although she lacks this in GFW too] And yes; Marisa has this weird habit of spawning wings in PC-98.
Also no; I'm not kidding. When Marisa moves in that fight you can see what first appears to be normal wings are actually Flandre's. [Video source: ua-cam.com/video/h8cy5Lcukic/v-deo.html&ab_channel=MegamanOmega]. Interestingly Marisa also has the ability to clone herself in this fight... like Flandre.
The only real difference Reimu has is she's duel-wielding Goheis, which isn't too strange given her Gohei changes every game anyway.
Marisa is basically in some sort of intrim design.

As of 18.5, 100th Black Market, Marisa has finally overtaken Reimu in terms of overall game appearances, making her the series' most prolific character.

On Yukari committing animal abuse; it's *so... so much worse than that.* In Who's Who of Humans and Youkai, it is explained that Ran and Chen are NOT the Kitsune and Bakeneko. No; they are the names given to the Shikigami spirits that are *possessing* the still-alive Kitsune and Bakeneko.
So Chen and Ran are actually enslaved youkai that are under complete possession against their will; being used essentially as slaves by Yukari. This slavery comparison gets even worse when you add in that Yukari doesn't consider Ran anything more than a machine to conduct her will. De.... youkai-ising [like dehumanisng] Ran... definitely a slavery parallel; and saying her "abuse" is nothing more than "percussive maintenance"... again, a slavery parrarel [Beating a slave that won't work...] Even her naming scheme for Chen, Ran and Herself has the inherent idea that Yukari is on a level above Ran and Chen. Like a slave owner is a class "above" their slaves.
Yukari is quite literally a slave-driver. And Ran and Chen are not animal youkai. They are spirits that inhabit animal youkai. Who are nothing but victims. This also makes Yukari's "excuse" correct. Ran *is not* an animal. [But Yukari's crimes are a myriad worse than mere animal abuse]

What you're saying isn't entirely correct though? while IDK about Ran being the name of the kitsune or not... the kitsune did consent to becoming a shikigami. and because Aya didn't consent to being Ran's(or probably the kitsune's) shikigami, Aya isn't a shikigami, despite Ran asking her(otherwise why not just force her?)
also, shikigami literally work similar to computers. Even Rinousuke compares them.
I'm still going to ask for sources about Ran and Chen being the name of the shikigami and not the youkai(by youkai I don't mean the species, I mean the kitsune and bakeneko not being the ones that have the names Ran and Chen).
also, Yukari does answer Ran's confusion in SSiB I think(after tricking Watatsuki? don't remember, been a while since I read it). So she's not completely heartless to them(also they do have some freedom, as Chen went somewhere in TH11 ReimuA(ST5).
+Ran isn't really an animal, but rather a youkai(well I guess she's both but youkai takes priority) so I wouldn't call that animal abuse... still, Yukari *does* abuse Ran.

If you ever get time, you should read as many of the translated volumes as you can find -- I don't think the whole series was translated into an English adaptation. All I really remember was that I kept looking for the next volume (after about 3 or 4) & no more seemed to show up. (This was in the late 90's).
