Logic Pro 11 is finally here! In this video I breakdown all of the main new features in Logic 11. This update also has parity on iPad, with Logic Pro for iPad 2. New features include an integrated stem splitter, AI studio assistants, a session bass player, a session keyboard player, a global chord track, ChromaGlow saturation plugin, a studio bass instrument, a studio piano instrument, and more! Thank you for this. As always you serve up a concise, practical, and useful feature demonstration. Great work and appreciated. I'm looking forward to working with LP11.
From what I can see they have out done themselves with this major update to Logic Pro. They have finally added what I've been wanting since I first got started with Logic Pro 9. Sadly though my update hasn't shown up yet and been watching for it since 6am and is now basically 6PM CDT. I meet all the requirements for the update but is delayed for some reason. [Note: I started with the version of "Logic Pro 9", 1 update before Logic Pro X dropped]
I'm surprised you were actually like this new update because it does not do anything to help us come up with more creative sounds it's simply polishes the workflow for studio style industry standards They are ignoring all the creative movements happening for AI driven speeding up making the music and you're actually celebrating it and that bums me out

To be honest the most important update I would look for is if apple finally optimized core performance to use all the cores from our processors instead of overloading just one core
@@wooliegeekJust curious how do you get to that conclusion? I find Apple Silicon is about a million times better! Maybe you have some 3rd party plugins that are not optimized for Apple Silicon, so obviously they work better on an Intel machine. So your problem is a plugin optimization for Apple Silicon problem instead of the other way around.
don't forget MACROS !!!! I cant live without this very fast macro shortcut workflow... Cubase, S1 etc. does this since decades!! L11 = lame update. Only for beatz kids who cant play an instrument again.

You are incredibly organized, articulate, engaging, and you have mastered the ed tech field as you have the music production field. Thank you SO much for being here!!
I'm in my seventies - I've been recording for over twenty years. Jay Carney is the BEST teacher/explainer/coach/mentor I've ever come across. His tutorials are INCREDIBLY valuable. Long may he wave!
When you use external hardware synthesizers or mixing hardware and you want to print the audio permanently into Logic. You could do it before by just recording to another audio track, but now it can be done with a key command.
I can't begin to thank you for all of the wonderful video's you've produced on Logic Pro X and now 11. You are a major component in how the band I've been a member of since 1970, was able to produce an album after a 45 year gab between the band's last album release. We continue producing and releasing new songs. Our next release is scheduled for May 17th.

Guessing that MTHG has had a late Beta of this for a little while. Happens a lot on YT, that a few select people will get close to production versions early, so that they can prepare videos like this to publish on day-one of a major release.
Josh! When you figure it out, can you post a Logic Pro 11 tutorial on using the new "internal MIDI in" feature that lets you control multiple tracks/instruments using a single instance of MIDI FX plugins, like sequencers and pattern generators?
Thanks for your great content, Josh, and the care you put in the outline and production. (Welcome back, Chord Track, nice to see you again.) Fun fact for all: if each of us send Josh just $2 (Thanks button above, the lowest increment) as a thumbs up + thanks for the great content + all the research + top-notch musical examples, it will put a smile on his face and keep him going for a long time! (I went for the second tick, $5).
i'm glad to see you're still making videos! learned a lot from your videos. i will definitely be watching those logic pro 11 tutorials. I remember a few years ago you made a video about the best vocal mixing plugins and now that i am back into it i was wondering if the antares plugins are still worth it in 2025? it would be nice to have an updated video about best vocal plugins for 2025!
Drummer update looks great, so many fine tunings can be achieved directly from interface instead of converting to MIDI and doing it manually. As per DKD, I think you could already customise the kit with all components if you used producers kits. At least that's what I have done on previous version, I was not limited with three options.
@@mrctdd I'm messing with it now.. and it's just as annoying. I don't like the 'A.I.' stuff ... I think it's stupid. It's ok to get a song going quick .. but I'm plugging my kit in as soon as I get my riffs decided on. I do like this saturation plug in. It's doing something kinda nice to the kits. They should've added some more drum kits though.. It's still all the same stuff. I end up processing the hell out of those samples anyway .. so it doesn't matter THAT much. Meh.. this update isn't that cool. I don't know why people are freaking out about it. The virtual players remind me of those player pianos they had that ran on punched out rolls of paper. It's just corny canned stuff. I will never use it.
Josh, congrats on so many subscribers. You are great teacher. You were great teaching in college and in this video. My favorite feature that no one talks the delay function for rushing or dragging tracks. It makes the tracks feel real. I do wish Logic had a way to get rid of reverb and compression on tracks and a plugin search.
The stem splitting is really awesome, it’s faster than RX and seems to do a better job too, at least on my tests. I noticed that in order to have it enabled, one must be running Logic in native mode, under Rosetta the option will be grayed out.
