honestly every european listens to different languages songs
Yes I grew up with English songs (and other foreign songs) on the radio that I did not understand
we all grow up with music in English but we are indeed familiar with music from all over the world.
spanish and latin-american
german (rammstein!)
occasionally even some french music.
and even african / arabic
French music is terrible though. I do like some of the older chansons, but today it's mostly rap and French rap is just aweful. At least that's my opinion.
@@knightarnaud sometimes they come up with something nice, every geological era. Italian music is huge in Italy but most of it isn't popular abroad.
I don't really know what he is singing but that's the way I like it 🍻
It's funny when the girl says that if she could understand the lyrics she coumd enjoy the song... HAHAHA She's not used to listen to music in another languages different from her own... So american
Yup, so weird for me, cause I always listen to music because of... music. Not because of language ahaha :D I have like 10+ languages on my playlist and I don't really care~
@@0Nikorin0 exactly!!!! Especially in Eurovision you can enjoy Sweden, Ukraine and Italy ecc even though they were in their own languages
They always say "I dont understand what they are saying"... so american
So "American" way to generalize all Americans...
Lol yes she is american from where? Mexico? Latin america? Dont understand... Learn others language better than chewing gum like cow because not only english is in this world. Music you can listen because of sounds, energy, vibes etc... God.. Listen for language... Good joke. And band and frontman is amazing like this song!
"If understood the language I'd enjoy it more" duh! Welcome to our world of non English speakers, dudes! #diversityinmusic
I mean honestly I don't think you have to understand the lyrics to enjoy it just as much, but I see your point :))
Sometimes it is nice to know what people are singing...but with todays technology with one click you can find the lyrics...so not a big problem. And yes,.you can enjoy music without understand everything.
"Not sure if rap rock is a thing." Dude... did you hibernate during the 90's-00's?
Probably not born yet
Just thinking about linkin park, with Mike shinoda rapping in every single rock song since the beginning lol
@@Pranci u better listen to the soundtrack of judgement night then. that was when the genre was fully born :D - plus of course #bodycount
Exactly. I was like "dudes.... Linkin Park??" lmao
Fun fact 1: english is not the only language in the world.
Fun fact 2: there are a lot of amazing movies, books, songs in another language than english
Fun fact 3: now we have google translate, but before, we had to do our research ourselves when we loved music or movies when english is not our native language.
Maybe it's a good thing I'm not english or american, it made me more curious and more open minded about culture in general, not only coming from my country?
Duuuude!!! Spot on!~
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I think they are afraid because spanish is going to be the most important language.
fun fact 4: you don't actually have to understand the lyrics to enjoy music, in fact, bad lyrics can ruin a song a lot more than not know "what it's about", music after all, is the most abstract art form in existence.
I love you, dude! Ahahahahah!!
My favorite song ever in Eurovision! Such a quality song

So annoying to hear the language related comment. In Italy we grew up enjoying Anglo-Saxon music while not understanding a word of it. That's all you had to say about the band? That you do not understand the words? Ma che cazz!
All of us grew up like this in Europe who are non english. 😊
We Europeans don’t need to understand each other’s word. We understand by feeling the music. We are used to listen to music of different languages, that’s why we don’t need a riffle lobby like the US. We accept & respect each other...🇪🇺🏳️♥️
The emojies kinda look like the France flag lol
This is the Europe I would like to see everytime
The last one is a bold statement but I appreciate that ahah

Of course Europe is great 🇪🇺. Love from Italy 🇮🇹
I still don’t get how Americans are focused on culture appreciation stuff, stereotypes and racism problems but when it goes to people outside of US they say “is this a type of pasta” about Italians without any problem
This. Not any different concerning French stereotypes (baguette, eating snails etc) or even Nazi jokes about Germany. Apparently these things are ok if it's about Europeans.
Usonians is the correct noun to refer to people from USA. Apparently nobody knows this and we keep calling them Americans which annoys a whole continent.
@@tatikto as a South American I can confirm. It is annoying.
More than this they continue relentlessly to romanticize mafie because "we need to read wattpad" so it's okei. So much for sensibility

@@mccustyd Hi David, the two words are written in two different ways : ziti with only one " t" is a kind of pasta of course, while zitti with two " tt" means shut up. So " zitti e buoni " means shut up and behave. Ciao ! 🙋

yess, I cannot understand that. I'm Brazilian and I like english, mexican, korean, japanese, chinese, thailand, arabic, french, russian and italian songs! I have my favorites in all those languages and If I hear anything that is good I will instantly like it. I have 0 language barrier!
for the US supposedly being such a multi-ethnic country, US-Americans regardless of their ethnicity seem to be bafflingly and frustratingly close-minded as far as different cultures and different languages go. monolingual block heads.
People from the US always amaze me about how ignorant they can be. I'm from Brazil and I listen to music in Portuguese, English, Spanish, Italian, French...and I cannot call myself a polyglot, but I love languages and I learned a lot from music!!! I wish I could speak all languages on earth!!
They're my number one and I believe nothing can change that. They have a good song, amazing stage presence and great fashion taste. Can't wait to see what they're gonna do in Rotterdam.
My favourite was France. But Italy deserve their place. Nice prediction

The fun part is that at the 39 jury vote we got only 12 points from Croatia, Slovenia and Ukraine while France and Switzerland got so many pints for the jury. I think that it’s because the RAI, that is the official radio and television station in Italy, didn’t want to win, because they have to pay for it, so they ask to not vote for them. It’s a common thing that so many country’s do because the Eurovision is practically a waste of money. That’s why the more rich country’s have more votes (for example Sweden that, aside this year, have so many votes). Then comes the tele vote, and RAI cannot prevent the votes for Italy. So yeah, here in Italy everyone is happy for the win except RAI.
Im dead, Americans are always all for calling out people and being tolerant, but of course that doesn’t matter when it’s countries from outside America. They disrespect other countries so easily and then get offended if they get called out cuz the issues are always the Europeans right ?
People from outside the Us grow up hearing all types of languages on the radio or at home, including an insane amount of American media and music many don’t want to hear….must be sad to only speak one language

Zitti e buoni is shut up and behave. On stage they are great. I mean they are 20 years old, so you can imagine...
I was watching an old "NIAGARA" video from the 80/90 super French duo, and they used the French equivalent of "Sois Bien et Tais-toi". More literally these expressions mean "Shut up and be good" In the Italian case it's plural ( so the whole band I guess LOL)

As Rock fan I would call Maneskin song as Alternative/Punk Pop Rock genre.... but yeah your expression of Glam Rock because they are Glamourus are fantastic.
Maneskin kinda reminds me of other band PALAYE ROYALE....
When you see the live performance from Sanremo, it just oozes 70s glam rock - especially their final encore performance, where they were more relaxed, and obviously enjoying themselves.

I’ve been listening to all their albums! Best music discovery from this year!❤️
The way she confidently said “it’s kinda punk rock” made me laugh and cry at the same time
I happened upon this video through searching for this song, I don't know why Americans/non-contenders are interested in Eurovision, that's surprising. Anyway, I find this submission very refreshing and enjoyable. Here in Western Europe (if not all of Europe) mainstream music has become very Americanized/globalized and it has affected Eurovision too. I'm very happy to hear something in an contestant's native language even if I can't personally understand Italian. I think the music and performance largely speaks for itselves. They're predicted for a top 3 spot, I hope they win.

Sometimes being American is embarrassing due to the number of people who are so ignorant and self-centered that they can't appreciate music in another language. Whenever I tell people that I listen to Korean, Chinese, Italian, etc. music they always say "but you can't even understand them," so? I can appreciate music even if it's in a different language because music is completely universal. Plus I can always look up the lyrics because I'm not lazy lmao. So many people forget that English is not the main and only language in the world it's insane.
I completely agree, but the problem with a lot of the Europeans commenting is that they don't realize a lot of Americans listen to international music and enjoy it. They are making sweeping generalizations.

Yes, they know what Eurovision is, maybe not all of them which is normal. I am European and I once knew a European girl that didn’t knew what Eurovision was. They are going to have their own “Eurovision” there called The American Song Contest and it’s going to start next year. A man that organised Eurovision for years left to go help create and start The American Song Contest.
I'm American (technically, because I'm New York-born and raised, but my parents are immigrants),and I have followed Eurovision since 2009. I even run my own FB page, known as "American Fans Of The Eurovision Song Contest". I started watching on Spain's coverage but now watch it on SVT from Sweden. It also used to be tradition in the old days (60s and 70s) for Eurovision artists to release versions of their entries in other languages, including Spanish,as singles, and get them played on the radio all over Latin America. We even had the OTI Song Festival, which Spain participated in,along with all of Latin America and even the US (who would send a Spanish-language entry) from 1972-2000. It was very popular during my childhood

He speaks, he does not know what he is talking about
You take me to where I float
That I miss the air here
People speak, unfortunately
He speaks, he does not know what he is talking about
You take me to where I float
That I miss the air here
People speak, unfortunately
He speaks, he does not know what he is talking about
You take me to where I float
That I miss the air here
But I'm out of my mind, but different from them
And you're out of your mind, but different from them
We are out of our minds, but different from them
We are out of our minds, but different from them
We are different from them
Ahaha....what did you use? Google translate?? The words have other meaning from what you wrote in here.
Welcome to America, the stereotypes' land...about others
The girl in the blue jacket looks like she’s about to shit herself. Also, Damiano is a boy. Also, blue jacket lady, learn how to enjoy music from other countries even if it isn’t in english. You know, google translate exists. The world doesn’t revolve around America. With love, a very proud italian.

These guys are all ignorant about music, why this video is recommended by youtube?
But do you know what is NOT ignorant? Commenting out of context !!! You have no clue what is going on in this video or how it came to it... but you think you do... and isn't that a bliss?
The “Å” in Måneskin is pronounced likely the “O” in Moe. Not like an A. “Måneskin” is a danish word, meaning: “Moon light”. They took this band name as the female bass player is half Danish, speaking fluently danish. They asked her to come up with Danish words, and this was one of them. They liked it and felt it somehow characterized them as a band.
This is the reason why everyone makes fun of Americans and say they are stupid.
