Just to let you know, the flashing lights during the blue section isn't the judges tables, it's the seats that the contestants sit in. Once they finish the preformance they go to these seats to watch the rest of the show, get interviewed and are there for when the results come out. The judges are based in each different country and judge the Friday preformace so that they have the results ready for the finale on Saturday. It's like that for the semi's too. Monday - 1st semi final for judges; Tuesday - 1st semi final for public. Wednesday - 2nd semi final for judges; Thursday - 2nd semi final for public. Friday - finale for judges; Saturday - finale for public.
Correct, also the Judges based their scores from the Judges show that is done before the Finals.

Juries, not judges. They don't comment on the songs, each country has a jury of like 5 people who vote and that contributes half the score, the other half being the public vote.

San remo is even more difficult to win. because all Italians can sing. and they have to perform 5 long evenings shows in a row. and sing a cover.

This is arguably the first time since ABBA that a band got internationally huge off of Eurovision. Their cover of Beggin' was everywhere, they were on big US shows like Jimmy Fallon, opened for the Rolling Stones, etc. Their win here was also notable because rock is barely present in the Eurovision and never really does well (last rock song to win was in 2006). It was also uncharacteristic for Italy because they almost always send in ballads.
Anyways, great and fun reaction as always. If you're up for Måneskin week at some point, they're well worth it.
Just went to their show last month here in Brazil. It was sold out. They are giants all across the world. As an Eurovision fan, I can say that I saw this miracle only with ABBA and Celine Dion
they were and are good regardless Eurovision, Eurovision just gave them visibility outside Italy, but they would have become famous worldwide anyway sooner or later

Måneskin is actually a Danish word. It means 'Moonshine/Moonlight'. The female member shredding on guitar is half-Danish, hence the non-Italian name. (Yes, the Danish commentators did, in fact, make sure to mention this multiple times to hype people up to vote for one of our own, lol.)

Ironically the Danish jury gave them nothing but the televoters did - they got televote points from every country along with France and Ukraine.
Maneskin are SOOO good!! And their success has come from the fact that they were already not only immensely talented but also had a catalogue of music already established before they won, so this really was just their way to get global exposure. They weren't just one hit wonders who fizzle out and disappear. They're so good and have only gotten better!

This was simply the best year in EUROVISION history! So many great songs and contestants.
Just watched the edition again, and yes, the 2nd and 3rd place totally memorable songs, if maneskin wouldn't have participated they would also have been good winners. The voting sequence and how it went is Great!

You never mentioned if you knew but Maneskin were runaway winners in 2021 and their feet haven't touched the ground since. They deserve it for being bold enough to become only the 2nd rock band to win Eurovision, after Lordi's win for Finland in 2006. You need to see that one. Btw I believe Zitti e Buoni means 'sit down and shut up'...

"Runaway," I dunno. In the televote, yes, but it was pretty close overall between them and France.
Zitti e Buoni means shut up and behave. The pasta is spelled ziti, with only one t.
They were ahead of France by 25 points. That's not "runaway" - that's the lowest winning margin in years. In fact, since 2008 (the first time there were 2 semifinals), only 2016 has had a lower winning margin (23 point) - and that's considering that from 2008 to 2015, the jury and televote points were merged and each country only got one set of scores!
2021 was a good Eurovision year and the voting was insane and historic. I remember the second Damiano was shown and sung the first word I was like...yep this is it. Those are the winners. Which is funny because when I saw their MV the song didnt catch me right away as much as it did during this night. Their stage presence was INSANE that night and they deservedly won.
And those 4 zero points at the start will remain in history!

Goodness, you have no idea how big fan favorites they were going into Eurovision. Basically, to the point where I decided to place a bet on them (I never gamble LOL) because I was so sure they were winning. And I got 200euros out of it. Thanks, Maneskin!!!
Anyway, Maneskin are an incredible band. Their album Teatro D'Ira is a piece of art (their Italian songs are better imo). They also have a new album called RUSH! and they're getting bigger in the U.S.

Also they were only 19-22 in this performance and even younger when they started off in Italian X Factor. Their music videos are amazing but their live performances are just unreal. One of those bands that are almost better live than recorded so highly recommend watching a live performance!

Yep, that Beggin' cover is from their X-factor time, just went viral years later after the Eurovision win. I'd tune the list a bit though since they're not all English pop rock, maybe replace some of that with their Italian songs like In Nome del Padre, Lividi Sui Gomiti, Coraline, Torna a Casa, or Mark Chapman for example. Really hard to pick just five songs out of their whole selection, but I feel like they should consist of both languages and different styles to give a good representation 🙂

Agreed it’s not the most varied, clearly their most successful songs are upbeat english rock/pop! And Beggin isn’t even a fav of mine but because it’s their most successful I had to add it! I’ve swapped Don’t Wanna Sleep for Coraline for some ballad/Italian language representation
Love Måneskin, after this performance they have gone viral in the US too, been on VMAs, Anitta, Jimmy Fallon and all over Europe, we love them here in Sweden. Damiano David is the hottest man alive
oh yeah Maneskin and Go-A were truly the iconic contestants of 2021 and now I'm happy that after winning Eurovision they got a lot of recognition if you ever react to Eurovision 2019 I hope you'll react to the Flag Parade too
The best thing about this year is that live music wasn't fully back yet, but Måneskin gave us that gig experience

My winner that year, and I'm so glad they won. They are amazing, and I believe they won, because the song and performance is awesome, and they gave people something they were craving after a year of covid pandemic and a lot of isolation; the feeling of being at a real live concert(many concerts of 2020 had to be cancelled/postponed including Eurovision, so people were missing live music so much.) Måneskin is Danish for Moonlight, and Victoria the bassist is half danish, so they made her say a lot of danish words, and they picked one they really liked. I think the song is about being tired of people telling others how to be/how to behave, and they should just let them do, what they want/be themselves. If you would consider doing a Måneskin week, my top 5 of their other songs would be:

Like other people have mentioned, the areas you guy thought were the judge's tables, are collectively referred as "The Green Room" and it's the artists' area. The layout changes but the general idea stays the same: Each of those tables has sofas around them for the artists to lounge and drink and have fun when they're not performing. In the intermissions the presenters talk to them, and sometimes there's a designated Green Room presenter/interviewer.
The judges panels are actually in each country, when the votes are being delivered during the voting section, they connect live to each country to give out their votes. The countries that did not qualify get to vote in the grand final too. And after all that, the public vote is delivered in big chunks to keep up the tension til the last second, and it's the main stage presenters the ones that give 'em out.
The literal translation is: "Zitti" means keep quiet (in its plural form) and you were right about "buoni", It means be good; but actually, the closest translation is "shut up and behave". 😊
I enjoy all your Eurovision videos because you’re never being disrespectful about it even if you don’t know much about the countries you’re always trying to analyse it as best as you can 😊

Best band of this generation for me
Never been a better Eurovision than '21.. became a huge Måneskin fan since that day.. ( saw them 7 times live by now) but the level was extreme high that year. Made it my personal mission to see as many of the artist as possible.. I already visted concerts to see 8 out of 10 of the top 10 ( and 2 from outsite the top 10) and realy.. they all smashed it ! All in their own unique way!

guys have you been living in a cave these guys have exploded world wide, they opened up for the stone, been in america breaking all kinds of attendance record. their so many songs that are mastepieces like their new one called valentine, and trastevere but my favourites are their italian ones. first of all zitti means quiet, buoni means be nice, people talk and talk nonsense.
Yep! And they have recorded a cover song for the Elvis movie soundtrack, another lately with Dolly Parton. Plus collaborated with Iggy Pop, and Tom Morello. They're definitely out there!

You should check out Lordi - Hallelujah. It was the first rock band to win the competition. I believe Måneskin (which is a Danish word, Mike was closer on the correct pronunciation) was the second rock band to win.

2021Finland also had rock band. Blind Chanell with the song Dark side. They finished 6th with 301 points. Check it out, it's bretty good. By the way those where booths for other competitors, not for judges.

Yes, he smokes but there is plenty of publicly available video evidence showing that he's had that distortion at least since he was about 15. He has said it is a natural anomaly in his vocal cord.

"Those are the judges tables" actually that is called the Green Room, its where all the other country's artists and delegations sit during the show. Since the final usually consist of 26 countries, there's usually that many seats for them~ usually a big couch for their whole team!

I'm an Italian fan and "Zitti" means "Be quiet" so the title translation is, more or less, "Be quiet and be good".... So they express with this song the constraint and the prejudice for that people common called "strange and crazy" (in any area of life), to push themselves to continue to be different cause there's nothing wrong with it and if people want to talk, they do so keep going and live your life as you are... So that means "zitti e buoni" is an ironic thing to say all those people...This is a statement song 🇮🇹❤️ (Thank you for the reaction ☺️)
I'm not sure you know Eurovision. It's not a talent contest where someone assesses newcomers and wannabes. It's an international festival where every participant represents their country, they're specifically selected among professionals up to that level, and they enter with a specific song. There are no "judges'" tables, there are no judges. There are only juries, watching and evaluating from all over Europe (plus Australia and Israel and Azerbaijan etc.), and the audience in all participating countries.
