Well, just last week I was chatting with my British friend and he said "the Ukraine". As for me, I always say Ukraine. :)
Only Ukraine, not THE Ukraine. because with The only complicated (consisted of 2 or more words names are used. Eg. Russia, but Russian Federation, America, but the United States, Britain, but the Kingdom of Great Britain.
