  • This is a review of the ultra disappointing Row n Ride Pro Squat Assist from Sunny Health & Fitness.
    The original Row n Ride is far superior to the Row n Ride PRO Squat Assist in 5 key ways, watch the video to find out.
    Hope you found this review of the Row n Ride PRO Squat Assist useful, don't buy it, buy the regular first generation Row n Ride from Sunny Health and Fitness instead. You're welcome.

    For people who aren't in great shape (overweight, bad knees, etc.), I think the pro may be the better option because it's a less intense workout. For people in decent shape, I agree that the original model is more value for a smaller price.

      @@TheLastHonestInfluencer Great machine but been looking on eBay and some sellers are selling these with ripped bands. How long do the bands last. Are they prone to tearing?

    • @TheLastHonestInfluencer
      @TheLastHonestInfluencer  29 днів тому

      In 3 years mine aren’t showing wear even and I use it all the time. That said, I can see how they could be prone to tearing if there was abrasion or if some models come with cheaper bands which is totally possible with manufacturers like Sunny. I don’t think they are super consistent. For example I had a rowing machine from them and the shock leaked oil, and the same thing with the row n ride that had a shock…but some people say they have shocks that haven’t leaked in 5 years.
      So to directly answer your question: I think it’s a roll of the dice with the bands .

      I just bought for 25 bucks one of those old Health Rider machines. It’s great for arms but has no leg resistance. For this 71 year old in bad shape it’ll work to build up but hopefully with time will get the row n ride.

      Great decision! I was expecting the PRO to be even better that's why I got it.
      Body mechanics are definitely important here is the best advice I found that really works for me:
      Instead of focusing on how you look, really focus on feeling the movement in your glutes and thighs. I can't explain how or why this works, but when you do it you just seem to position yourself on the machine better and hit those muscle groups. Go slow at first and really concrete on squeezing those muscles. When you do this, your workout becomes incredibly effective and all of the machine doesn't feel easy at all...in a good way. Made me so sore for the first week but you can see the results in my legs thats for sure. Hope that helps!!

    I love the Sunny Row-N-Ride Pro. It took 15 minutes or less for my husband to put together. It looked easy enough and probably and very likely could have put it together myself. Mine has never leaked, I can fold mine up, and I've had it since March 2022. I have the hydronic set to the highest level. It works great. For people who have bad knees, (I don't, but I dont want to get them either)...it saves them compared to the original. It's a great workout, abd in my opinion.
    Edit: I wanted others still trying to decide to know the weight amount with the hydraulics with the pro. The Row-N-Ride PRO is expertly engineered for the toughest workouts. It features one of the highest max user weights for a squat assist trainer at 300 LB. Along with a foldable design, this is perfect for home gym fitness enthusiasts. DIGITAL MONITOR: (which is on mine) to track your progress with the digital monitor. Mine also came with 2 resistance bands to work rhe inside thighs, etc. I really love mine. I think you got a bad one.

      I still am concerned about the quality of the workout that you get and the geometry of it - seems the original is more effective! Even the girl who does the videos from Row N Ride prefers the original over the pro, and that is saying something. I'd rather get what works then get something fancy.

    I ordered an original row and ride a week ago, i am a 50 yr old man used to be very active, but now im getting a bit of a gut. Well maybe more than a bit.

    • @TheLastHonestInfluencer
      @TheLastHonestInfluencer  Рік тому +6

      Thank you for your comment, comments like this one make the effort of creating videos pro-bono worthwhile!
      This machine can definitely help you get rid of your gut and love handles. The HITT type cardio workout it provides will rev up your metabolism, the muscle your body will have to build to adapt to this type of training will require a lot of energy. That said, remember weight loss is always about the energy in-energy out balance. Try adding your workouts to your day/week without any additional food intake and you will lose weight for sure. These workouts will make you hungry tho, that's the sacrifice.
      You will notice I'm not exactly slim right now either, I let myself get nice and soft around Christmas but the holidays are over so it's time for us to kick some ass now!
      Be as consistent as you can with the machine but don't over do it right away. I recommend doing 5-60 second rounds every other day at the start and go for a 60 Min brisk walk on opposite days. If that's too easy after week one, very methodically increase your time and or intensity in your workouts while eating just a tiny bit less every day. Consistent healthy weight loss is always a game of very small changes over a long period of time (at least for me).
      Hope that helps friend! Please let me know how you like the machine and if you have any other questions feel free to ask anytime. Cheers!

    I had an Ab Booster Pro (which is junk out of the box, had to mod with 6+ strong resistance bands to even get something like an exercise out of it :). I just bought the original Row'n'Ride and I am excited for it. Thank god I didn't get the Pro!
    Here is a tip which I did with the Ab Booster: Jack it up by putting the back feet on stable bricks, about 10-15". (Careful, because if it's jacked up too high it could fall over). This gives an AMAZING leg workout, as out of the box this thing hardly does anything for the legs. Excited how the Row'n'Ride will be in this regard. Due to differences of the both (Ab Booster vs. Row'N'Ride) I have reason to believe the Row'n'Ride will also be better for working the legs.

      @TheLastHonestInfluencer  Рік тому

      Awesome comment thank you!! Love the ingenuity, I agree sometimes if you tinker with fitness equipment just a little bit it can go from mediocre to amazing. I haven't tried the ab booster pro yet but if I do I'll be using your recommendations.
      I think you'll like the squat assist, curious to know how you feel about the resistance. I added more bands which made it harder but I didn't feel that necessarily improved the workout on it. Something about the way it is with the three bands it comes with allows you to go fast enough with just the right amount of resistance to give you a brutal HIT workout. I don't think they even meant to make this machine as amazing as it is, just one of those lucky breaks.

    • @flexy456
      @flexy456 Рік тому

      @@TheLastHonestInfluencer I just got the machine and overall I am satisfied, the main difference to the Ab Booster is that this machine is working out the legs WELL, but not much the arms. The Ab Booster was exactly the opposite. The Ab Booster had a way to rest the feet/legs so they didn't come into play, which required one using the arms more. It is possible that I can tune this again with jacking up at the front or the back so it works the arms more. Need to test. Without the bands there is really just "movement", I guess good for cardio etc. but obviously no way to build muscles like that. With the bands (which are surprisingly strong), even just 2 bands give a good leg workout, surprised me. (The Ab Booster I had to mod with 6 bands in back PLUS bands in front). Overall I am satisfied since arms/shoulder workout with this machine isn't as important to me, for this I have my weights. Build quality of this is also 100x better than AB Booster. This thing is solid.

      I just called the company and looked on their website for parts. They do sell a replacement cylinder for $25. I asked them about the leaking. It sounds like they are aware of it. They are sending me some videos to show me how easy it is to swap out that cylinder, if needed. I need to go back in and look and see how much warranty is on it. I have until October to send it back to Amazon. I really don’t feel like taking it all out of the box and putting it together if I’m gonna send it back to them. So now I’m debating should I keep it for a while, put something underneath it to catch any oil and see how it does. I decide to keep it, because it was such a good price, buy one or two other back up cylinders. Decisions… Such a huge hassle.

    The only issue with the Row n Ride is the resistance bands... They wear out in no time.

    • @TheLastHonestInfluencer
      @TheLastHonestInfluencer  5 місяців тому +1

      Quite a few people have said this now. I wonder if some of them are just crappy or do some people like yourself just workout that much more and use them more than everyone else

    • @ElianEychenne-zf6ez

      Can you get an equally good workout without the bands as far as testosterone release goes?

    • @TheLastHonestInfluencer
      @TheLastHonestInfluencer  5 місяців тому +1

      @@ElianEychenne-zf6ez I’m definitely not qualified to answer a question like that so take this with a grain of salt:
      It depends on how ‘trained’ your body is ie your current fitness level. If you do a HIIT session no bands and it leaves you gasping for breath and legs and glutes burning I believe based on what I have heard and read that yes, you’ve achieved a level of muscle and cardio stimulus that would provide hormone activation in regards to testosterone and HGH increases.
