Yes, I love both Whitesnake iterations but the original 1978 to 1985 was my favorite. This was the more Blues Rock, pre “Hairband” lineup. Most of the big Whitesnake hits with the “Hairband” (from 1987 on) era were re-recordings of songs from the original lineup. Bernie Marsden co-wrote most of those songs with David Coverdale. David talks how many of those songs were written about the loss of his first wife in divorce.
The "classic" 'Snake lineup and, for me, their Golden Years, one of the best blues-rock bands this country has products. Lovehunter, Ready 'n Willin', Come 'N Get It are fantastic albums, well worth a deep dive. Half of the band is Deep Purple FFS and we are well aware of the genius of Ian Paice and the late, great Jon Lord (RIP).
Hey, I've never heard this version. I really like this. Take the silly glam 80's sound out of the later version I'm used to, and you get a really cool classic sounding track. The best version would probably be somewhere in between. Can this version have Steve Vai on it? Please?
Hey Brad, even though I just subscribed to your channel, I am a long time subscriber to your Brad And Lex Channel. I think you reacted to the wrong version of this song first. This may have been the original version, but the official music video version (Which has Steve Vai on guitar is music better.),, which was probably redone while Steve Vai while was part of Whitesnake, rocks way more. In fact, you get to see a mistake they left in the video that Steve recovers with his very impressive guitar skills. So, in the official music video, there is a part in the solo where Steve Vai is playing the guitar on the floor like a piano... but that wasn't suppose to happen that way. The story goes, as I understand it, a person out of camera was to throw Steve his guitar so he could catch it an start playing the solo. What happened was that person off camera didn't throw it far enough, so the guitar just landed on the floor. Steve being the amazing guitarist he is just left it there and started playing the solo like a piano. In the video at one point, they show him laying it down, but that was inspire after this happened, which the results of are in the next shot. This was a story I remember from a guitar magazine where they were pointing out some artist's insane playing skills. i don't know if it is actually true, but on the guitar players on the planet who could pull this off, Steve is one of the few. I will put a link to that video here: ua-cam.com/video/8Tp0K9YiTPE/v-deo.html Hopefully you and Lex can do more vids in the near future. Glad to see you are still around and kicking. I also have a video request, which I think you will be amazed at the singer INSANE voice. Check out this 80s metal song 'Stand In Line' by Impellitteri. The lead singer is Graham Bonnet. He is in his 70s and still singing like this. This is a more poppy rock/metal song so i think you will really like it. ua-cam.com/video/FVAAeot6TD4/v-deo.html Cheers, Tim
He did NOT do the wrong version. Maybe mind your wording. He did what was requested & most wanted. The official video to the original version- which has more heart- thus more feeling❣️ So this to us is the correct/best version! Maybe another time he can hear the redone way. Yet Brad always seems to perfer originals. Earlier versions tend to have more feeling. Brad likes when that stands out, as he even points out during this review. Also this & most originals groove more, which Brad & Lex also like. Lex sometimes likes good guitar solos & that may be the only thing that stands out a bit more in the renake. Once again, this original trumps the later version in every other way. Cheerz- j~
Hey bud, you missed the point of my post. This may have been a request, but it is still the wrong version to have reacted to first.... and, this his first reaction to this song, as far as I know, at the time of time post. This version does not have the apathy and feel of the lyrics of the songs, or they wouldn't have redone it at all. The second version has the drive that contains the feel just below seething anger to drive the feel of apathy in the lyrics. It was the first one I saw when it was debuted on Mtv, and the more successful one. Furthermore, not every response needs YOUR approval or response. Go mind yourself and stop being a arrogant Richard, like most tyrants of history. Cheers

This is the Whitesnake for me…before they became a hair metal band!

Authentic Rock....Love Cryin in the Rain.

This is the original they redid this for the Slip of the Tongue album it's got a little bit more of a metal feel to it that this.
Yeah. I was about to say something similar. I didn't even know this older version even existed
Gambler is an outstanding Whitesnake song to check out
Totally forgot about this song. Used to know how to play it on guitar too

2 differnt versions of this. Later one from 1989 is better.
No it's not, but still worth checking out 🙂
Maybe for you, for me the best era is with Marsden and Moody on guitars.
Disagree as well. This official video to the original version has more heart- thus more feeling❣️ So this to us is the correct/best version!
@@hmpz36911 The later one is better if youre into 80's.
If you prefer the style of the 70's more then sure, you will probably prefer the first.
