    I really count myself lucky because I have a mentor who has been successful in fba for 2 years. He has told me to avoid all the mistakes that he made at the beginning. I am pretty sure I will still make mistakes as this is all new to me.

      You're welcome Kareen Dahab. The spreadsheet for keeping track of details from your suppliers will differ depending on your product and how each person likes to keep data organized. Just keep track of each detail in its own column from each supplier such as the price for each MOQ, any changes to the product, cost of any extra items, cost for any variations, different shipping options, lead times for manufacturing and shipping, etc etc.

    Is it preferable to include in my personnel contact a URL that represents my business? if so what is your suggestion?

      Every supplier is different. You'll have to ask them what they prefer and are willing to accept. I can't answer on their behalf. If you want to look more professional, then an email address from a real domain is preferred but not necessary.

    Thanks a lot for the video, very usefull, indeed! Just 2 questions: If I'm starting and don't have a private label on Amazon yet neither a e-comerce name, etc, should I just identify myself as an individual seller in the corresponding fields of the template? Also, from the template I can see you negotiate with the supplier the entier shipping process. Does it mean they will manage the customs and all the papers? Thanks a lot!

      Your account and business type on Amazon has nothing to do with how you communicate or conduct business with the supplier. The supplier isn't going to know, ask or care about your business type or your Amazon business. As for the shipping details or any other aspect of the contract with your supplier, you need to discuss with them to agree to any terms and responsibilities.

      Hello Will Luague. I do not. Just fill out the trade assurance contract or have your supplier fill it out. But make sure you've documented everything in the contract.

    I have a question: I have not launched my FBA business yet, but have been talking to suppliers on Alibaba and have secured a product I believe has great potential. I liaised with suppliers exclusively on the AliBaba chat platform, which I agree with you is not great. If there is a dispute between both parties, can communication outside the Alibaba ecosystem be relevant? Just asking as, often, messages on Alibaba chat come up as follows: "Always keep your communication and transactions on Alibaba.com website or app. Communication and transaction records will form the basis of dispute resolutions."

    I have 3 questions:
    While creating an account on alibaba, one of the field is company name which says "must be legally registered company" but I don't have any registered company or I neither have any private label name, because I am an individual who is just starting this very first time (no experience) , how do I register on alibaba without company name? do I have to register
    Similar question, I downloaded email contact template and it also has place holder for company name but I don't have one - actually it says " We’re an international company based out of [city, state]" But I don't have any name . what should I put it in the template ?
    When I send an inquiry on alibaba to supplier, do I receive an email or do I only get response on alibaba? which one I check?

      1) Make up a name, they don't check
      2) Make one up or remove that live if you don't want to
      3) You'll get a reply from the supplier, if they respond.

    Hello, can I ask you a question? :) Im a brand new seller and this will be my first order. How do I know which location I'm sending my product to? Does Amazon assign it to me? What if at the time I'm contacting manufacturer, I don't yet know which warehouse I will be using? Your letter template had an address of an airport in TX.     I have a doubt. To sell products on a large scale, more than 500 for example, does it have to be a private label? if i find a good product to sell, i look for a supplier in china and ask to do a similar one by inserting my brand? but then the product would not be different? wouldn't you have to ask Amazon for permission to include a new product?

      No, you don't have to private label. However, if you're selling generic products and you don't private label, you'll run into issues with hijackers on your listing and you won't have any IP protection.

    Question ! Where would we get pictures for our product listing? Would we be able to borrow the product's pictures from Alibaba or would we have to take our own photos?
    Also, if we are shipping directly from supplier to FBA warehouse, how would we get pictures of our product then?

      If your product is already at Amazon, you can create a Fulfillment Order and send your photographer a unit. Otherwise, if your supplier is still manufacturing it, then have them send a unit to your photographer as soon as they are done with production. You can find really good photographers on fiverr.com Just search for "product photographer".

      i dont suggest using the manufacturer photo as it makes it way easier to find your manufacturer. a reverse google image search will bring that alibaba listing right up so someone can contact the factory minutes after finding your product.

      Yes. It really doesn’t matter which you choose. The bulk of the shipping costs is crossing the ocean.

    If suppliers are asking for tax charge, how should I go about dealing with that? I feel like you said before that tax shouldn’t be factor when dealing with suppliers

      They are probably asking about duties. It's best to clarify with them.

    Hi Crescent, Have you ever heard of any FBA seller creating an agreement with a supplier, where the supplier actually accepts financial responsibility, in any way, for product faults/defects that are obviously due to a manufacturing issue? I have in mind, knowing that a seller should use post-production and pre-shipment inspections, a hypothetical situation where an ethical supplier would agree to reimburse the seller, in some pre-determined amount of money, for creating and supplying to the seller a defective product. Am I in la-la land or has this ever happened to your knowledge?

      Hello. Yes, it's pretty common. Mistakes and accidents happen. It's just good business practice for them to do so.

Going further, I watched the video you suggested about further negotiating with suppliers, but it did not address this particular point, which was broken or defective products, that I saw. How might you suggest introducing this idea to a supplier and phrasing the negotiation? I would assume that the principle of 'keeping it simple' would apply here. Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Hello Crescent, On question 4, it makes sense to ask about a 300-500 MOQ price w/ air shipping, but the 5k MOQ doesn't make sense because I'm assuming the air shipping would be too expensive for that quantity? [unless air's cheaper]
    Wouldn't it be better to ask for a 5k MOQ quote w/ sea shipping? Assuming it's cheaper than air shipping. Preferably I'll go w/ DDP. Thank you

      You can ask for a quote for whatever you'd like. The higher MOQ is just to lock in a price if you were to order from them in the future as well as make it sound like you're a serious buyer.

      My suppliers put them on. Either its on the same FNSKU sticker or I have it printed on the packaging as part of the graphics.

    All the Total/U are wrong in your chart. Example 100 Units: Total C\U ($400) + Total S\U ($600) + Total Labeling ($2) = $1,002. $1,002/100 = $10.02. NOT $10.12.

      If you’re doing private label products, you need to have your products manufactured. Alibaba is the best resource to find manufacturers.
