Great Information! I hope I will do well in FBA. I have been taking courses and watching many many videos. Now I understand how it works and it's time for *Product Research* hehe.
Discovered your videos few days ago, you're the best, man. No bullshits, no long talk for nothing. Great. What do you think of Amazon Early Reviewer Program?
Hello Chhe Kuoch, how are you doing? Thank you for your feedback, I appreciate it! I've never used or participated in the program. Was there something you wanted to know specifically about it?
You need to also do PPC, and there's taxes... so if your profit margin is 3,000, then is it safe to assume maybe 2,000 to 2,500 actually goes into your pocket? don't get me wrong, that is still great. Most people make that much in a full time job.
Hello Joseph Shatrowsky, how are you doing? Yes, you're absolutely correct. There are additional expenses that should be factored into your net profit margin, however, that wasn't the scope of this video. A lot of beginners aren't factoring in a minimum profit margin (if any at all) when doing product research which results in failed product research results or worse, failed launched products.
Hi Crescent, I have a why question - what does it mean when the sales numbers suddenly drop off after the top10 listings and why does it occur? - if you have a video explaining this I will gladly watch it - much appreciated Duane
It doesn't happen in all niches but in most cases it's because Amazon ranks the listings in the search by sales velocity. The top sellers appear at the top. Not everyone is going to be the best and there may not that many sellers that are selling well.
Im on my second product, and everything you say is totally true. The rule of thirds etc Nice videos man I might book a 30 min call with you to help with my second product. Are we allowed to ask any questions at all?
Hello Pocket Man, how are you doing? Thank you for your feedback, I appreciate it! I'm glad you found value in the video. Congrats are starting your second product. If you need help with it, let me know. You can schedule a consulting call through my website: www.crescentkao.com. I can help you with any questions or concerns that you have or if you need to develop a plan or course of action.
Thank you Gyorgy Szilamer! I appreciate your feedback! They are currently not for sale to the public but I'm working on making them available on my website soon. Stay tuned!
Crescent, I'm a little confused with this process. I have a why questions and a "do I" question. Why didn't you index each criteria from greatest to least, for instance Reviews or Sales, when qualifying them. Also, do I need to remove sponsored products and outliers from the lists before evaluating?
You don't do product research by sorting the listings any other way other than in their organically ranked position. The only ones that matter are the listings on the first page because those are the listings you will be directly competing against. The other listings are insignificant. 80% of online sales are made from the first page. You want your listing on the first page, too. And generally, listings that are beyond the 2-3rd page are from sellers that haven't put any effort into their product and listing so they don't sell many units if any. So those listings don't matter.
Hello Shakti Utthansingh, how are you doing? Thank you for your feedback, I appreciate it! Yes, I've used it Amzscout before. In my opinion, all the product research tools perform the same task, they just each have their own unique features that differentiate them but ultimately, they do the same thing, organize the data for you. For me, the Jungle Scout user interface and layout is much easier to use and comprehend so that's why I prefer to use it. Hope that helps!
Hi Cresent, I like your straight forward factual approach rather than fluff. I'm using all your videos as a guideline for my business, thanks for being a straight shooter.
Thank you so much for this video. Great content Crescent! I like how organize and detail you are in explaining everything. So easy to follow so I appreciate it!
You’re welcome sunnihanna! I’m glad to hear you find the videos easy to comprehend. I appreciate your feedback and input, thank you for taking a moment to let me know.
Hello FromQnz2King, how are you doing? Each software package will have its own set of features that differentiate it from the rest but for the most part, they'll all essentially do the same task, that's what they're purpose is, right? In my opinion, people are always looking for the fast track or easy street to success so they're looking for that magic potion or software that's going to give them the perfect product without much effort. Unfortunately, there's no such thing. Successful product research on any software package will still require the same amount of diligence and preparation. The software is only as good as the person using it and analyzing the data.
What are you thoughts regarding Merchant Words compared to the 3 you mentioned? Is it reliable/good/etc? What's your number one favorite technique to use when pulling keywords?
Hello H Nguyen, how are you doing? As of right now, I've switched to using Keyword Scout from Jungle Scout. It's their new keyword research tool that made all other tools obsolete in my opinion. I'm working on a new video that goes over it in detail so stay tuned for that. You can still use the existing tools, but you'll notice that Keyword Scout will pull all the keywords that the existing tools do plus more relevant keywords that they don't.
Crescent Kao thank you! Looking forward to your video on keyword scout. Please dive deep into PPC (exact & broad) and all that good stuff too. Love your explanation and videos. Keep it up!
Great tips. Side question, do you guys fill in ALL the miscellaneous info in the listing editing? (More details, color map, manufacturer part number, catalog number, all the confusing spaces)
Hello Neil Chang! Thanks for your feedback! No, it's not necessary to completely fill in every field in your listing. Just filling in the required ones and the backend keywords is sufficient but filling additional information doesn't hurt.
As Crescent has discussed it's a launching service !! I wouldn't basically recommend it as my friend who has used it got all of his reviews deleted. Try next level ninjas, they have a solid group of testers, a totally organic crowd so there's no risk of flags.

You can't change marketplaces. You need to create a new account in the US marketplace.

Why don’t you want to sell textiles?
Too many returns and variations to deal with. Inventory management is a pain.
