- A long time back in the early days of Toy Polloi I covered how to re-attach the arms on a vintage Kenner Star Wars Wampa. Today I am taking a new look at that fix and seeing if it can be simplified.

So pleased you helped out Wampa. He's got a thing about losing arms 😉
This is how I fixed the arms on my Wampa years ago. I did the same fix on my 12” Chewbacca.
You make it look so as always Dave. I just know I'll be there cursing for about an hour and a half before I get anywhere near that fix. Thank you Dave, I have an armless Wampa as we speak!
Practice and Patience. You'll get there. Cheers
Well done,Sir Dave. Now the vintage Empire Strikes Back Wampa will be serving you till the end.
Cool . I can feel a tremor in the force . As Vader watches from the side ." You will arm me next , you cannot resist " . 😂 . Thanks for the show how . 👨🔧👨🏫👍🖖
That was literally brilliant, looks so straightforward once you see it!
Thanks for all of the fantastic toy fixes.
Glad you like them!
Now you've got me searching the internet for limb challenged wampa and such. Definitely looks easier than the other fix with the cable tie. As always thanks again for the videos Dave.
Simple and elegant fix. Well done
Thank you! 😊
A much BETTER fix! I love to see you revisiting projects you covered on your channel before, because every toy is an opportunity for a new and better fix! Fun to watch!
Excellent work! It honestly isn’t too different from the original way the arms were attached and super quick and easy too. The beading wire is key. Thank you for the update, Dave!
Awesome, thank you!
You’re a genius!!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I remember that original Wampa repair video TP. I like this even more simple fix. I'll be sure to use it if I run into a Wampa that is in need of some arm reattachment.
I'm sure you've whitened many yellowed figures, including Wampa's, in the past. Would have liked to have seen this one back to having his snowy white coat. But at least he got a manicure and his nails done. 😂
I love watching how you work, and especially find it interesting when you give the specifics on the materials you're using for the repair. It's very helpful when undertaking these endeavors.
Thanks for another great one!! ❤
A magnificently simple fix! Nice work as always Dave!
Great update.
I suspect I will be doing this fix myself very soon.
Hey Dave
Thank you for sharing and Happy Weekend to you and MrsTP 😊
Take care
Nice job
Awesome guess on the paint looks really good!
This is so strange, I was thinking of the old video just the other day!
I was going to revisit the video, dig the figure out of storage and make sure my wampa's elastic cord was still good.
I do the same for my G.I.JOEs.
Just a routine physical. :)
Thanks alot for the video :)
Hope you enjoyed it!

I certainly did. :)
Thank you very much, sir.
It's nice to see that even in June, Hoth has a lot of snow. ;) Cheers!
Snowy all year round!
Very clever my friend
Love these repairs!
Thanks 👍
Interesting!
A Wampa manicure! 🤣 You should have asked him where he was going on his holidays while you did his nails! 🤣
🤣💅
Wompa! Wompa! Wompa! 😂 Luv the channel Dave :-)
😁
Very helpful! Thank you!
You're welcome!
Larry !!! Is that you ???
:-)Wampa Wampa Wampa!
The kid who owned that figure must have been heavily inspired from Luke to remove the arms from the poor wampa.
Instead of using beading wire, I wonder if you could use the hooks/wire that is used to hang ornaments on holiday trees? Not sure if they are long or flexible enough to work, but might be something that many people already have around the home.
That's a minty pink-faced Rebel Soldier. So much prettier than the pale-faced version.
Great video Dave! but I just have one question, at the end of the video you have snow! where did you get that in the month of June?! Lol! 🤣
Thanks. This was filmed a while back. We don't have snow now. Cheers
One feature of the original Wampa was that you could pull back the arms, and when you released them the elastic would cause them to swing forward and knock a Tauntaun or other action figure down. I didn't see you demonstrate this in your video. Does your fix allow the figure to have "action arms" like the original?
The original arms where held on with elastic, so they will work the same as before. Cheers
This restoration took me days since the wire kept unthreading Lol
Practice and Patience. You will get there.
Now I just need to get the elastic and wire, his arms are still attached just hanging really low
I have noticed that a lot of Vader‘s tie fighters, are hard to find with the wings still attached. Can you make a video, about how to fix them? Or is there any way?
I have videos on fixing tie fighter mechanisms. But will have another soon as I believe you are on about the part that is often missing from the wing itself?
Wampa looses his arms and must be attached.
“Ironic” -Sheev Palpatine
Have you found a way to make his legs match the same color as his torso?
You have snow now?
Not at the moment. This wasn't filmed recently.
Have you considered retro-brite-ing this guy or is supposed to be the off white/yellow color? Is the color we are seeing an effect from the bulbs you are using or is his torso a different color than his legs?
You can deyellow then. I don't tend to bother as I like the wabi Sabi look of them. The yellowing comes back in time anyway. Cheers
Do you think this same method would work with the 12 inch vintage figures or are they too big and bulky to do just the elesatic. I fixed a12 inch cherry with your zip tie technique and it's work3d great but I wonder if it would still work? Teach me oh great one
I prefer the other methods I have shown for the larger figures.
Hey Dave, I'm a little confused because I've noticed only 3-4 fix it videos a month and I'm starting to wonder if it's still a toy restoration channel or if it's becoming an everything else type of a channel. I used to tune in to your channel all the time but lately it's not as entertaining with only a few restoration videos. I hope it'll get better soon
So you are complaining that there are not enough videos a month? 🤣 I have always shown a repair video on Friday and a review or something else on Tuesday. It's been like that for 10 years.
Don't get mad. I wasn't complaining. It just seems a little different than when I subscribed 7 years ago. I guess I shouldn't leave comments and just keep my thoughts to myself. Sorry about that.
