- Continuing my quest to make my old G1 Transformers look more like the characters in the original cartoon that made me want to have the toys in the first place.
This is purely for fun and just me being an amateur at fiddling with toys.

My jaw fell to the floor when the gun turned into a robot. They don’t make toys like that anymore. Really cool 👍

That's how a "Transformers The Movie" (or "Retro") 2023 reissue of G1 Megatron would look like if there was no law against realistic toy guns. Great job!
I'm curious if they'll do the retro MP approach they did with Prime, would it be a gun?

They do that anyway and that toy was never all that realistic.
Kinda like banning those little gunpowder noisemaker toys. Was really silly. Not that you'd opt for that over a tablet pc anyway.

Be wary, it's incredibly weak in its engineering. It broke again after this video trying to transform him back!
Maybe there's a reissue with am update.
Either way, gotta love small objects become gigantic robots!

Ohhh, was it inspired by the TV show? I'm all about deeper meanings, but maybe this Megatron design was just a popular incarnation.

Actually the paint probably helped some of the looseness of some of those joints.i know mine which is the 2005 Japanese reissue has loose arms and legs
Indeed, but thr increased resistance couldn't save the fragility of it. It's completely in pieces again. The arms are simply poorly assembled.

I just got on a kick, restoring a vintage G1 Optimus. I know how you feel when restoring something! It's amazing! Megatron's gun mode is fantastic! Robot mode, not so much.

I custom painted my G1s, but I might try to bring them back to OG glory.
My brother took my Optimus for his kids
Then I went no contact.

@@adadwhogames Nice! Where should I send the pics? As for Optimus, get your pre-order in for Missing Link Prime!! It's a MUST HAVE. Pulse is sold out of both flavors. (Toon w/o trailer, toy with trailer) You'll have to see if Amazon/ BBTS ect still has it available for pre-order. Don't miss it! I ordered the Toon variant and will pair it with a vintage 1984 "T" #2 trailer using a bloated prime gray Roller!
I’m holding out hope that Takara will create a more posable version of G1 Megatron, or even a total redo so that he has properly scaled limbs and no trigger crotch
I think it'll be a guarantee with the Prime MP that is the G1 toy, but posable.

Good job .. I personally disliked his robot mode .. and to be honest my MP Meg . Stays in hun mode .. even though he’s magnificent.. I don’t want to risk a broken part
The MP is the only one imo. I'm not evil a fan of him, but I'd still take an MP of him.

Isopropyl alcohol. Stank, but made everything soft/thin except the pieces themselves.

@@adadwhogames Aww, man sorry to hear that. It was a great custom, so I appreciate the consideration and thought in wanting to show it off more. Hopefully in the near future you can run into a great condition Megatron. I know with the new Missing Link line the possibilities of new G1 figures with articulation is a living possibility.

So I actually had this figure. I loved it. But my step mom decided to look for it, steal it and then break it. The piece that holds the barrel to the rest of the figure, it was already hanging on by a thread as I bought it that way, then when my step mom stole it, she broke the rest of it off and when my actual mom got her to return it, it was broke, beyond repair. I was only 16 years old too. Had bought it with birthday money. 😭😠,

First, the design was so poor I swear no one who actually played with it as a kid didn't have that barrel come off. But it st least could still hold in place in gun form.

The overall design of the Megatron Walther p38 was based on the gun made famous by the tv show Man from UNCLE.
