Yes! More detail please! Does using the long line take the motivation/choice to obey away?

I have a 1 year old husky and it's hard to imagine any reward I could offer would ever be more interesting to her than a squirrel or another dog. I would like to hear more about those advanced methods.

I have an almost 2 year old husky and his recall is only good if he’s in a fenced area. Even then, if a bird dropped in the area, my husky would hunt it. I agree with you, no reward has been effective over his drive to hunt. Not even his favourite treats😵‍💫

It is imperative that you are awesome, in the mind of your dog, every time the dog comes to you, it doesn't have to always be treats or toys, if you are the boss it is your attention they want. It is only a small step but a necessary one. I'm not a trainer but my dog doesn't know that!

The explanation is fine, but we want to see this taught step-by-step, being SHOWN in a video. Thank you.

Look in his older videos. He's done exactly what you are asking for multiple times.

Our female Dobbie comes to come and my whistle...if she is too far away or I don't want to yell I press her vibrate on her collar.
Our male at 7 months old is still pretty solid, but I'm still working on him... he's a bit more stubborn, but I'm using his higher prey drive to my advantage 😃
    Love these videos
    Cheers

You described my predicament perfectly. My 5 month GSD is excellent off leash. Brilliant at walking by my side passing people and dogs. But once a rabbit or rabbits pop there heads up and runs she is off and goes deaf. And I am guilty of using her name + come. I guess familiarity breeds contempt. A more detailed video on recall would be even more helpful. Thanks.

I walk my lbs around our country property. I use tone collars . My competition is the deer bone, crops in field etc etc. we walk three miles or so ….sometimes they come other time not right away.

My olde tyme English bulldog pup is a chonky boy and have found that tone, positive reinforcement, clicker and treat really gets a lot out of him with instilling training and commands. I’ve bought a long line and although we’ve worked on it a bit I’m about to really focus in on his recall training, I was thinking about a whistle for when we get to the point where he’s a ways away from me and or distractions happen or introduced so thank you this video has really came at the perfect time!… might sound a bit daft but are there any whistles I’m particular that you can personally recommend?
I love your channel!… I’ve been subbed for a while but just lurked on the comments section until now 😂

there are 2 tones. I have a high-pitched one for my dog as the lower tones he ignored. my whistle say 211 and half got it from amazon. the other one I got from local pet store has no number on it. Hope that helps

would love to get my dog coming back every time but he loves running off to see other dogs, e collars are banned here so thats not an option, i tried one of the vibrating collars and it was useless

I have a 4 month old Blue Heeler mix and this is the last command I need to get down with her. When she goes potty she chooses to run away in the backyard. Should I be luring her with treats every potty break?

Right now Twigs are more interesting to her than when I call her but this is without treats, when I do have beef liver she comes right away
