  • A Calgary-based company is building tiny homes to help military veterans who have struggled with homelessness. The homes will be grouped as a "village" to create a community of peers with a structure designed to meet individual needs, according to construction company ATCO.

No affordable housing should be full size not glorified dog houses. Give these to single mothers on welfare who get knocked up to collect the dole, give these to "immigrants". Dont give these to our brave guys and gals who put everything on line in pointless foreign wars that serve our country in no purpose. They deserve real housing.

@@martymclochlin4836 That's why I said affordable housing meaning for everyone. When you visit large countries like the U.S. for example, "government or low income housing" is run down and disgusting. What's depicted in the video at least is a good start for anyone to feel better about themselves. I agree Veterans deserve way better but in this age of Tiny Homes a beautiful studio isn't bad at all. I'd live there.

Yea there no way to take advantage of inflated values when you have a fixed cost for production. This happened back when suburbia became a thing, cheap mass production housing. Come 50 years later that same house is worth 10x that amount alone, not to mention land value on top of that. The current housing market is over-inflated and is prone to collapse.

I do not understand this. How can a veteran go homeless? They could handle the responsibilities of being a soldier but fail in real life? Why not stay in the military?
Why should they be singled out and get free accommodation. It reflects badly on them. Veterans have taken part in illegal invasions of other people's countries. They knew the risks when they signed on that dotted line. They do not deserve charity. Let the government who sent them overseas take care of them. The above gesture is admirable but naive as they are not prioritizing on who deserves these accommodations. This is not fair.
What's next? accommodation or collections to help former millionaires who lost everything on the stock market? How about helping the victims and homeless of the countries the US government's illegal invasions? That is a noble cause.
