You could probably do a whole series: Watches of the Nazis, Watches of the Soviet Premiers, Watches of Ruthless Dictators. I can see how some manufacturers may be uncomfortable about being associated with horrible tyrants and the like, we must remember that it wasn't the watch that made them who they were. Similarly, Harley Davidson motorcycles are popular with both police and criminals. They're just things, who uses them is interesting.

Thank you for not going the easy shallow route of getting political on these videos! It is refreshing to see you cover this sliver of a president's persona without resorting to adding your own feelings on their politics. Also, I appreciate the fact that you cover a Rolex in the same manner you cover a Timex. They both have a meaning and a value to the wearer.

Great video, Teddy. Another interesting historical fact: Johnston & Murphy, the 165-year-old American company, has been hand-making shoes for American presidents, starting with President Millard Fillmore in the mid-19th century. Looking forward to part two of this series.

Did you say that the Cartier on JFK's wrist was round? It looks square to me in the pictures I've seen.

Probably out of left field . But what about Dale Earnhardt and his watches ?
Dale was a big watch guy but no videos or no research on his collection...
    Can you do a video

I would like Timex to come out with some mechanicals and also some repeats of its iconic watches from the 50's to 70's with the very simple gold-colored hands, date window trim, and bezel. I always thought those watches were so elegant and tastefully designed by their understatement. I don't like the current trend with the dial on a sort of recessed level below the crystal. Looks like a deep dish pizza.

Eisenhower wasn’t the “NATO commander in chief” during WWII, there was no NATO at that point yet, but he was commander of allied forces in Europe.

Excellent video! What about Fidel Castro, Churchill and other English Prime Ministers, Modern Popes, Mandela, Putin. Just some suggestions.

You may have you facts messed up a little. For my 16th birthday back in the med 70's. My mother bougt me a silver pulsar just like the one Jerald Ford had on. She paid around fifty dollars for it. At a Kamart in Newark Delaware. I always thought JFK wore a gold president Rolex watch. (You did not mention that). Where can I get a Timex with the American Flag on it? I would like to have one. Great video thanks for sharing.

Do something on Bulova Accutron, it was the most accurate watch of its day it was used to power instruments in the Apollo missions it also powered the instruments left on the sea of tranquility on the moon, no other watch company can claim their movements are on the moon...As a historian I am sure you know Lincoln's secretary's name was Kennedy, Kennedy's secretary's name was Lincoln they were both assassinated in the presence of their wifes.

Interesting watch choice for FDR considering he was more well known for wearing Vacheron Constantin watches.

It was a special make model for FDR's birthday from Tiffany. They now offer a similar model in a limited edition by Tiffany's factory in Switzerland. It's around $25k.
