Any watch I end up regretting I gift to my nephews. They always seem super excited to receive them and I spot them on their wrist all the time. Happiness all around born out of a mistake.
I gave a couple of Seikos to a very good friend at work when I decided they weren’t for me. He has gone on to develop quite a serious interest in Seikos, partly because his father was a Seiko fan, partly because I had reminded him. So, for not much money someone’s interests have been kindled. I take as much happiness from that as I do from having my own watches actually.
1:22. You and the urban gentry are the reasons I did not blow a ton on fashion watches and why I am spending an insane amount of time researching my first collection piece! Thanks Teddy!
I’m 25 and wear $1000 suits and drive a Model S, but never cared much for watches. That was until I traveled for work and everyone around the table was wearing a Rolex or Omega (I was wearing a Tayroc, kind of like Vincero) Impressing others isn’t a good reason to invest in watches, but buying a quality watch to match the other quality things in my life was a catalyst that got me interested! Overall I’ve learned that nobody cares what watch you wear and most people don’t even know what anything besides a Rolex is. Wear what makes you happy! Once you start buying nice things, you can’t go back. It’s a blessing and a curse.
My first watch was my father’s Seiko 5 that he purchased while on leave from the U.S. Army in Hawaii in 1969, and then wore in Vietnam. It’s my go-to watch with its beautiful blue face!

MrAdjaize I agree! I bought a Rolex Two Tone Sub when I first starting working ~25 years ago. I wore it in the pool, hot tub, ocean, deep sea fishing, snorkeling. That watch never needed service to this day. I finally had the AD service it to replace seals, replace chipped bezel insert, etc. The watch is made it for....don’t baby it!!

Hi Teddy, Here are a couple lessons I learned from your video. 1) Sizing (including lug to lug) is a very important factor in whether you will enjoy a watch or not. Always check out the size before buying. If possible, try it out on the wrist first, as a watch can wear bigger or smaller than its listed measurements. 2) It is better to save up and get one watch we can really enjoy rather than spend the same amount of money on several 'blah' watches. May I recommend getting an Orient diver for a relatively inexpensive watch to wear in the water? I personally like the way they look better than the Seiko SKX line.
I guess I'm lucky. I got interested in watches from a restoration vid. I got the bug and immediately started watching your content and doing research. I find a lot of cross over between firearms and watch collecting. So, I took my lessons learned in the firearms world and applied them to my new found hobby. My first watch was the orient kamasu. Scratches my diver itch and I can feel good about the quality. I've picked up a couple seikos for the instant gratification. I'm planning on picking up a Tudor heritage BB with the red bezel next. That will feel about as cool as when I got my first Scar 17. I like the BB 58 but I have an 8" wrist and 41-42mm is my sweet spot. Thanks for all the help!
I’m thankful for people like you that I learned in the beginning not to get fashion watches. I just never knew how addictive this watch collecting would be.
My biggest mistake was not buying that Tissot Visodate when I had the perfect chance to do it while it was being sold at a good brick and mortar store near my house, (that was shutting down operations) at an incredible price. Now I can only buy it through the internet at way higher prices. Many watches I bought years after that was because I tried to fill the gap of that Tissot Visodate.
Loved to hear your perspective about not buying watches to get people’s attention. I’m the same way, but there are a lot of people that try to push me towards a rolex sports watch because they care about the status symbol aspect.
Teddy, I've been in the hobby for a little over a month now. I have purchased 12 watches so far (Orient Bambino, Seiko SNKL23, Seiko SNK803 & 809, G-Shock, Casio FW91, Timex Weekender, Special Edition Bulova Special Edition Frank Lloyd Wright and some others). By the way, my Seiko 803 purchase was because of the one you had on one of your videos. Had the tan dial and it is so beautiful. No regrets so far. Well I do regret I don't have more money to spend on watches!!! LOL Thank you for doing what you do. I watch you, TVG and The Time Teller almost every day. Also Love Just One More Watch. I've tried probably fifteen other watch guys on UA-cam so far but you are DEFINITELY ONE OF MY STAPLES!!!!! Again, thank you!
I'd say my biggest mistake has been falling victim to hype and FOMO mentality too easily. Just because a watch is a forum darling or is all over UA-cam, it doesn't mean that *you* are necessarily going to like it. Furthermore, sometimes the super popular models also don't actually have very good resale value because everybody already has them / is trying to flip them, so ebay, etc, is flooded. Secondly, I think it's important to try to be objective about your opinions on each individual watch, rather than buying into "fanboyism" for a specific brand. Not every brand is going to do everything well on every single watch. Each watch should be evaluated objectively on its own merits.
Also bought a bunch of fashion watches when I first started collecting (The Fifth, MVMT among them), regretted them when I learned more about watches and my own passion for mechanical pieces, and sold them off at a big loss. Although I did learn that not all fashion watches are equal, and some I thought were far better value than others. MVMT was by far the worst value of those I owned. Would recommend against them. Don't be fooled by the pretty pictures.
Ye same here . I already have what i thought was an "ok" watch. Citizen Ecodrive titanium , black dial, unidirectional rotating bezel (easy to read, lightweight, rotating bezel allows me to keep track of time on multiple things at my job ,,i'm a nurse) .. But that's my JOB watch , so i thought i would buy something to wear that wasn't on the JOB , and so i did (and I do like the 1st watch that i bought) ,, but then i'm just buying another watch, and another etc .... just to see how it would look/feel/ and to maybe use it as a backup if my JOB watch or my non-JOB watch breaks , In reality, it's going to be a LONG time before I actually have a necessity to wear the "backup" watches. After a while , it just feels like i'm hoarding a bunch of watches instead of it being a "tryout" for what kind of watch suits me.
It's amazing how tastes vary. I'm a sucker for green and I had never even HEARD of the alpinist until now. Looking online as we speak. Awesome video as always!
Not so bad. Thanks for sharing. My mistake was buying three Timex Weekenders because of the low price and my apprehension of changing the bands and straps. I could have used the cost of the extra Timex Weekenders into saving for another aspiration watch on my list. Like you said, you live and learn.
They are not that much more - under $400 used I think and there are a lot selling all the time so no worries. I have the SARB035 and I was a bit underwhelmed at first but everytime I wear the thing I just think this thing is really quality.
About the Alpinist's fashion versatility, I never have any issue matching it with my outfit. When I wear black, I use a black strap with it and the green dial just pops. I had people stopped me on the street asking what watch it is. If I wear a white shirt, I match it with a metal bracelet. With shades of brown outfit, I use a dark brown leather strap. It even goes with dark blue shirt and green trousers and vice versa.
I never could pull myself to rock it with blue. I thought it did look okay with browns, blacks, greens and tweed-like colors. That said, there are so many other watches I prefer so I decided to part ways with it.
Teddy Baldassarre that's fair enough. I certainly am not going to argue with you about your personal preference. I simply think that the fashion versatility is not an issue with the Alpinist in my opinion.
Probably it is because your style complements the alpinist... And not the other way round. People who likes a pop of colour will have trouble with the alpinist. Just finding matching straps for the alpinist is a chore.
Leri Jiso I just used the most common colours in men's fashion as an example. Any neutral colour will go with the green dial. Dark blue goes well with it, and so does teal or turquoise. If you want to be adventurous, yellow will be fine too. Heck, even red.
@@PT111111 I agree with you. Never had a problem wearing the Green Dial alpinist. The Straps make all the difference with the outfits. If you want to dress it up an oyster or jubilee bracelet does the trick. On causal, I tend to keep dark Brown, Navy and black leather straps. I respect that is not for everyone, and that is what makes it special. The Limited Edition BLUE DIAL looks so boring in comparison. without the contrasting numbers and hands.. it doesn't even look like an Alpinist.
Hey Teddy. My story... I once bought a gorgeous vintage vacheron in gold and it was my grail, the best watch I even owned (to then). So one day I sold it to a guy who saw it in one of my photos because he offered me a good amount of money. Well, I made a good profit but I still miss that high quality and that prestige this watch had. Cheers
I'm so glad I started doing research before buying an MVMT. They kept popping up as ads everywhere I looked and I thought to myself, "I should start wearing a watch." Luckily I checked out some youtube watch guys and decided on a budget timex before a fashion watch. Now I'm just trying to decide on what my first automatic will be out of the several choices I have picked out
Great series-I’m a watch geek, too, and your comments and observations are right on the money...for those of us without money who still love style and design. Keep up the great work.👍
I think these are common mistakes for new collectors, I know I’ve made a few. But it’s all part of the learning curve in collecting. Great video! Keep it up
as always, loved this video! my regret would be spending too much money on cheaper watches instead of saving a little bit more for an even better watch
I agree with Teddy. I bought the green alpinist a year ago. I heard great reviews. After a few months later, I just wear it a few times. I should of stick with my gut and bought the sarb035. Don't get me wrong the alpinist have great specs, but it didn't have the versatility of what I was wearing. Now kinda sucks that sarb is discontinued
My biggest 'retreat' was to China for a study abroad that hit 13 different cities. An incredible adventure and now I want to see Japan and Thailand really badly! But my only minor regret in buying watches was buying the Crownarch watch (a fashion watch). At the same time though, I think their design is unique enough that I am happy I purchased it! Still want to save up for some great heavy hitters. Side note, if you know New York well, where would you service old Russian watches like Poljot?
I think I've had more selling regrets than buying regrets. My first high end watch after a Seiko SKX diver (lol) was an all stainless Datejust that I bought from someone at work for $800. He wanted to upgrade to a two tone and I'm guessing he wasn't that familiar with the value retention. Neither was I as I sold it for just over that to buy a new GMT Master II in the early 90s. The jewelry store was offering no interest and the price was close to $3000. at the time that was the price for an all stainless model. I'm definitely regretting selling that one if you're familiar with what a new or used one go for these days.
I've outgrown or lost interest in my 2 Citizen Eco-drives that sold for $300-$500. I honed in on them because I didn't have to change the batteries. The problem that I've had after owning my 1st one for about 13 years is that they would go into low power mode because I wear long sleeves most of the time and they would never get enough light to charge. Even with the problems, I think I would really regret selling them, because they are a part of my watch owning history. I loved them at one point in time. My 2nd was Atomic and Solar, so that really got me excited. I always have the accurate atomic clock time on my wrist and had multiple time zones and even tracked date changes with leap years. The watch just loses it's charge too often and has led me to research mechanical watches. I'm loving my $64 Seiko SNK809 for the past 2 months. Definitely interested in buying some more automatic mechanical watches. Seiko SARB line!!! Why discontinue them now that I just found out about them?!?!
Gotta admit that Squale at 3:00 looks good with that strap, Ted. And the Rolex, man, how come you let it go? The only one I may regret sometimes its a Fossil I got like 14yrs ago, but well, that watch paved the way for me into horology and watches, and buying and trading and selling a few to get another.
My biggest buying mistakes are Nato straps - fell for the hype, quickly regretted it - and watches with Miyota 8xxx movements. The ones that got away are the Tissot PRS516 with ETA movement, and Orient Star Seeker GMT. Only one service mistake, sending a Seiko 7s26 to a private (but recommended) dealer for repair; the much maligned Seiko USA service center fixed it right. And SKX’s make great travel beaters.
I can totally understand the Seiko Alpinist not being for everyone, the green dial in a world where most watch faces are either white, black or blue is polarising, and it's niche of being a tool watch with ruggedness and features in an elegant package is something only a few people can love. That said it's my favourite watch in my collection, the first mechanical I bought and I prefer wearing greens and burgundies in my outfits where others tend to prefer blues and greys, so it suits my style and I adore it.
I think many others and I agree over the overhyping of certain watches. The Squale, SKX, while I'm sure are great watches in their own right and have a following for a reason, are not my forte. One thing is for sure, that Alpinist was nice! I think a great topic you should cover is about watches that get constantly overhyped, to the point where it's almost a sin not to like them. Wonderful video as always!
B. C. Sharpe Don’t buy them. You still need to change the battery just that it lasts longer but it’s usually expensive, $100 to $250 or more just for the battery.
@@fuckingpresident4126 but you don't have to change them as often as get an automatic serviced. And the price is comparable to that of servicing a swiss automatic
B. C. Sharpe Solar watches usually don't go over $500. So depends what you looking for and what satisfies you. I have a Rolex that hasn't been serviced for 18 years and its working fine and a Seiko that hasn't been serviced for 7 years.
Citizen Eco Drive - they have the best history and tech in that department. Find the one that makes you feel fizzy and relax for 27 (and going) years while others struggle with watch maintenance and upkeep and wind tools (I use a windowsill) lol. At 5:20 the Tissot visodate: never seen a day date dial like this! What is 6 Sat 27? Sure it’s not an annual calendar with month indication. Does the 6 mean that Sat is the 6. day in the week?? Looks strange?!? Anyone, any info?
As soon as you mentioned the SKX I knew the size would be the concern for you. With that said your videos are great and thank you for the great content.
I agree with you on oversized watches. I don't have small wrists, I just don't want to wear a watch the size of a dinner plate, there's a lot to be said for discretion.
when you say that glycine combay is much larger than 42 mm (more than 50mm) don't you refer to 48mm case??? and when you talk about the alpinist can you please tell if you just disliked the green color and the compass? or there are other issues? I have glycines, seikos and tissots (not visodate) and I am right now making an offer for an alpinist new in box.... I would love to hear more from you about that piece..... thank you
Great video, Teddy. I like to try on a watch at an AD, get some information. Check out, whether it is easy to wear, not to heavy and in the end, be aware how much a OEM leather strap is and how much a revision costs. Before that, I would ask myself in what direction I want to go in terms of my collection or in my case watch alternatives. If I love a watch and I can enjoy it, then it is perfectly fine. If a watch (watches), fashion, devices... have the purpose to fill an inner void, then I will be disappointed.
@@neilpiper9889 it absolutely works on mineral crystal. I'm speaking from first hand knowledge. I just buffed out a mineral crystal with it as recently as 2 weeks ago.

I’m new here, but I am really starting to enjoy your videos. Story: Because of all the positive reviews, and its beauty for the $$$, I bought a Seiko SRPB41 Cocktail Time (blue dial), but regret it. First, It’s an all polished case, with no brushed finish, and at first was fine, the more I looked at it, the more bland it became. My Seiko 5 SNKK87 has much more design to it. But the biggest problem is the blue dial. I LOVE BLUE DIALS! But I wear blue all the time (almost every day for work), and it didn’t match anything. It drove me crazy. I actually passed up on a few shirts that were on sale because they didn’t match the watch...that’s insane! I think that I’m going to stick with white or silver dials for dressier watches, anyways.
I brought a Vincenro for myself during Christmas. I thought it looked nice and was something different than what I had. Now that I learning about watches I will be more aware of purchases. I’m looking the Tissots now.
Hello At the 5:44 mark and 5:55 mark, there is a photo example of a Tissot with a leather strap that is not in the aligator pattern. The problem is I cant find that anywhere on the net. It it not the same watch he is talking about or maybe its an older model. Thanks to anybody who can help clarify this.
Buiying an Invicta and a Daniel Wellington were my greatest regrets. What I regret not buying is the Seiko Alpinist. I was going to buy the Alpinist because I loved the way it looked and plus all the hype. However because my wife did not like the green dial, I went with a Seiko Presage Cocktail (light blue) instead. I love the Presage and will keep it, but I still want to buy the Alpinist too... Maybe for 2019 Christmas :)
MVMT Basin (Revolver series) has to be the biggest regret I have among watches. I used to regret my Tag too, but I started to fall in love with it. It's the Carrera Calibre 5 Date in anthracite grey, and it's stunning. The movement is okay, but the design and the size feel like a class apart.
Teddy, i have thought to myself, since you started having interest in watches because of the apple watch, that means you've started collecting about 3 years ago, and i gotta say you've got quite a lot of watches in a pretty short time, that's some dedication :)
I agree with your list teddy. I regret buying anything designer and all the cheaper Japanese orient watches . I’m not focused on saving and buying the quality long time pieces
Have to agree with everything you said here Teddy. Pretty much been through the exact storyline, including the Sarb017!! Minus the datejust ;-) Great video

It all comes down to you an the watch... The watch that draws itself to you. Does NOT determine the cost of a watch. Yea exspenive watches feel an look better.. But all that matters is if whatever watch fills your soul... Even if that watch cost 40 dollars!!!.. My most exspensive watches so far .. 2 of them... 500 dollars a piece.. My third watch.. Final watch.. 100 dollars. I adore all 3.... The same... That 100 dollar watch is something else in my eyes.. Dont worry an think you need to buy a 4000 thousand dollar watch to be happy an accepted.. Yea it would be nice... If all of us.. Can have a couple exspensive watches.. But... Thats not how it is suppose to be looked at......
@Desiigner actually.. It has the crown guard. But not the guard that goes up an over an all around the crown. It guards the side of the crown. On both sides. Left to right.. Its a very thick strong guard.. My apolagies for mis informing before. About the bulova precionist not having a crown guard.
@Desiigner well.. In todays aspect of it... Its hard to say where bulova comes from.... An mondaine is a fine watch. For your urban living. "Everyday" living. I really like mondaines history what is behind their company. I do not own a mondaine watch. But to be honest 3 months ago i ordered a mondaine stop n go. White dial black numbers with the red strap. It was the stop an go at the 12 marker spot. The order went through but i never recieved the watch. I seriosuly wanted that watch very bad.. But it never happened. An it was the last one available.. What a beautiful watch an design. An i agree.. You do not need a 4000 thousand watch.. It would be nice if all of us could own one... But there are so many different watches out there.. That all speak to us differently no matter what the price range is.
@Desiigner your right, there is barely any true watch repair serviceman any more. I came into the watch game late in life. Started at 37 years old. Wish i started alot younger. I have missed out on so much. Vintage watches are a thing of beauty. But its a double edge sword. Putting into the factor with condition of those vintage time pieces. The look the passion put into those vintage watches of any brand cannot be beat. I own a total of 4 watches. 2 quartz an 2 automatics. I adore them all.. I just recently purchased a sun an moon watch. Its so perfect. I cant stop looking at. To be honest sun an moon watches are favorite complication watches. I hope throughout my lifetime. I can make a sun an moon watch collection. Id like to own 5 to 10 of them. All different brands. My most exspensive watch cost 500.. Actually 2 of them.. I would seriosly love to own a omega of my choice someday. But who knows if it will happen. The price of watches does not make us happy. Its the watch itself. If that means it cost 40 dollars.... Or 40,000... The watch itself is what counts. Cost is only a #.. But a watch... Is a beautifully engineered timepiece.... That is our best friend on our wrist..........⌚⌚⌚⌚

Hi Teddy. My biggest watch regret was when my father offered to give me his mint condition 1970s or 1980s Titoni Space Star 009. (It was actually new, he had never worn it ever) I did not accept because at the time I was young, ignorant, and did not appreciate time pieces like I do now. I really wish I could have that watch now, even though it is not some kind of big baller Rolex or something of the sort. I still like the way it looked, and it was something nobody else had.
After years of buying, regretting and then selling....maybe then regretting. I now finally know what I like. I also spend lots of time thinking of a new watch purchased will add something to my collection in a different way to the others, but only in the realms of what I like. ie nothing over 42mm any more!
Kind of confused by the Nomos Orion? The lug to lug distance on that thing is huge, not to mention it wears much larger than the 38mm case diameter suggests.
Love the Glycine. I have the Golden Eye and you are correct it wears larger than 42 mm. But it works well for me but there are limited clothing options for that color combo.
My mistake has been buying watches too soon to each other. One was secondhand and I had to move on it, the other was new from an AD. I really love the secondhand one, its comfortable, an icon etc, the other whilst being new and twice the price is not getting the same wrist time. I remember marvelling at it, its blue dial and moon phase but now I find myself reaching for other watches in my case. I do occasionally put it one but not as often as I thought I would.
Brilliant vid. My regret was buying a fossil. And that I did not get my dream watchs earlier. Seiko ssc019p and victorinox maverick g s red 2000 to 2016
I agreed to each and every points you’ve made in this. Every one of them are exactly my thoughts about these watches too. I too have a very love-hate relationship with Rolex exactly for these reasons but now i want a grey dial datejust with golden accents :( what have you done to me Ted :(

Also.. Internet hype is all too real.. I know im guilty of falling in to it
I certainly did...
Nice collection of low tier timepieces
Love this comment, Tim. Thanks for this! I totally agree with both of your points.
Agreed.
The more I collect watches, the more I realize I’m a one watch guy. My alpinist hasn’t left my wrist in months. All my others have been mistakes.
Alpinist is fugly
Ye same here . I already have what i thought was an "ok" watch. Citizen Ecodrive titanium , black dial, unidirectional rotating bezel (easy to read, lightweight, rotating bezel allows me to keep track of time on multiple things at my job ,,i'm a nurse) .. But that's my JOB watch , so i thought i would buy something to wear that wasn't on the JOB , and so i did (and I do like the 1st watch that i bought) ,, but then i'm just buying another watch, and another etc .... just to see how it would look/feel/ and to maybe use it as a backup if my JOB watch or my non-JOB watch breaks ,
In reality, it's going to be a LONG time before I actually have a necessity to wear the "backup" watches.
After a while , it just feels like i'm hoarding a bunch of watches instead of it being a "tryout" for what kind of watch suits me.
Give them to me then! I have 3...
I have 13 watches and I agree fully, mainly because the main is $895 watch. But I love looking at the 12 others on my desk :)
@De St I have two cars but I strictly only look at one :p
It's amazing how tastes vary. I'm a sucker for green and I had never even HEARD of the alpinist until now. Looking online as we speak. Awesome video as always!
Wish i could get my hands on a harrods black bay for retail, it's such a nice shade
Alphinist is a very beautiful seiko watch.... Id give it consideration.. If i was in store for a sieko..
I got to agree that Seikos are over “hyped” but still I can’t control.Seiko addiction

Not so bad. Thanks for sharing. My mistake was buying three Timex Weekenders because of the low price and my apprehension of changing the bands and straps. I could have used the cost of the extra Timex Weekenders into saving for another aspiration watch on my list. Like you said, you live and learn.
I have dozens of regrets. I regret getting into watches to begin with. If I could do it all over, Id have a three watch collection.
Yeah, which three watches?
"I only buy dress watches"

hey man the Seiko at 6:13; can you tell me the model?? Thx holmie.
The regret of not buying a SARB before it got discontinued
SARB035 on sale on amazon right now
They are not that much more - under $400 used I think and there are a lot selling all the time so no worries. I have the SARB035 and I was a bit underwhelmed at first but everytime I wear the thing I just think this thing is really quality.
Seiko have released a new alpinist generation, and there is black dial, white dial, and a green dial... so fear not.
Hey guys, definitely leave comments down below about your biggest regrets. I would love hearing them!
Hey man, I don't know New York that well, however, I have gotten to know the great people at Central Watch.
*_Bangor, Maine in the house._*
New sub here, love the channel man.
Question; you've mentioned you lost 75lbs, how'd you do it?
i really like your channel and the way you present stuff. keep it up
I've outgrown or lost interest in my 2 Citizen Eco-drives that sold for $300-$500.
Do you have any G shocks? For any purpose? Sport? Gym?
Sorry to hear about the Glycine Combat Sub not working out. It's the standout watch in my collection.
Where do you go to buy pre owned watches? Besides eBay
I desperately need some advice on solar watches!!! I'd love a video about them from you
@@fuckingpresident4126 both of which tend to be serviced every 20 years
Citizen Eco Drive - they have the best history and tech in that department. Find the one that makes you feel fizzy and relax for 27 (and going) years while others struggle with watch maintenance and upkeep and wind tools (I use a windowsill) lol. Super titanium dress watch eco drive from citizen will get heaps of use, passed to children and easy to maintain when not in use. If want a cheap beater with great blue lume, swimming/diving, clear true military dial, works formal with right band etc try yhis: ua-cam.com/video/kMMOxK-pTm8/v-deo.html
I really like the junghans chronoscope.. but i have a 6 3/4 inch wrist. Not sure will it sit well. Can i get you opinion?
Again thanks for the info you share.
I have that fashion watch regret, glad it wasn’t just me. Bought my first Seiko recently as a result of watching your channel.
The only watch I regret buying was a blue V4 Orient Bambino.
It wore too bid and the domed mineral chrystal was a scratch magnet.
Buy a tube of polywatch dummy.
Polywatch does not work on mineral, it's for acrilic and hesalite
@@neilpiper9889 it absolutely works on mineral crystal. I'm speaking from first hand knowledge. I just buffed out a mineral crystal with it as recently as 2 weeks ago.
Did the same with Skx009. Returned it because it was too big and top heavy for my 6-5/8” wrist. Dropped down to an skx013 and it was all good.
Thank you for your honest feedback! I appreciate your knowledge of horology. I have purchased a few of the watches you have showcased based on your expertise.
Hi Teddy, what is the watch that they won't catch you dead wearing?
Do you try the watches before buying them?
I brought a Vincenro for myself during Christmas. I thought it looked nice and was something different than what I had. Now that I learning about watches I will be more aware of purchases. I’m looking the Tissots now.
I'm still in love with my Seiko Alpinist! Thank you for all the great videos!
Hello
At the 5:44 mark and 5:55 mark, there is a photo example of a Tissot with a leather strap that is not in the aligator pattern. The problem is I cant find that anywhere on the net. It it not the same watch he is talking about or maybe its an older model. Thanks to anybody who can help clarify this.
Are versace diver watches worth the buy? Or are they bad quality?
I love your videos man.. my biggest regret is a Vintage Seiko Turtle with some aftermarket parts
Was the Seiko Alpinist a good size for your wrist?
What’s that Seiko at the very beginning of this video? That looks gorgeous l. Can someone tell me the reference number please?
Seiko snk803. I have the 809 (black dial), and I really like it :)
@@nunoareia27 thanks! i thought it is beautiful but the dial might be a bit small for me tho.

Wow. You had to learn the hard way . We lucky that there are good people like you on UA-cam .
You would go far with your channel 😊
Thank you, my friend.

If you have one Seamaster it won't be your last, believe me.
Good idea, a bargain compared to the Rolex.
Dude they are the price of a car
@@MrBacchus18 Not really ,they are getting overpriced.
Omega is for losers
MVMT Basin (Revolver series) has to be the biggest regret I have among watches. I used to regret my Tag too, but I started to fall in love with it. It's the Carrera Calibre 5 Date in anthracite grey, and it's stunning. The movement is okay, but the design and the size feel like a class apart.
I don't re-sell watches, but I do have some watches I wouldn't purchase again, but strangely I still love them. Hard to describe really...
Teddy, i have thought to myself, since you started having interest in watches because of the apple watch, that means you've started collecting about 3 years ago, and i gotta say you've got quite a lot of watches in a pretty short time, that's some dedication :)
Dedication or addition, I will let you decide. Having a watch UA-cam channel definitely took it to another level.
Teddy Baldassarre hahahah true, i'd totally enjoy the other style topics you were saying you wanted to bring to the channel though.
I agree with your list teddy. I regret buying anything designer and all the cheaper Japanese orient watches . I’m not focused on saving and buying the quality long time pieces
i love all of these watches. will be looking more into them. agree with your size and style comments to. essential go the person..
Have to agree with everything you said here Teddy. Pretty much been through the exact storyline, including the Sarb017!! Minus the datejust ;-) Great video
This may sound odd, but what would you call your specific style of dress? You have a very sophisticated look, but also young. I’m wanting to find similar style clothing. Thank you.
Super helpful! Thank you
I don't have any regrets; thanks to youtube videos like this one. I have 4 watches in my collection and I am a beginner. I bought a Fossil that I like but I’m learning a lot now and realize there are much better watches. Still learning.
Yeah one of my first was a fossil nice looking kind of bad quality and really bad resell value. Bought mine for 80 they are selling for 20 lmao. Seiko is where it’s
I have a 6.6 inch wrist and cannot decide if I can pull off the skx007.....
Would you consider Stuhrling a fashion watch? i havent seen much info on them but what i have seen is mostly positive. would love some feedback
I bought a lot of hyped watches when I started collecting. I look back and wonder why I got them. Oh, well such is life. Best regards from Adrian in Sheffield England thanks for sharing.😀
Adrian Morris just scrolling through the comments and noticed yours, kinda spooky considering that I purchased my biggest watch mistake at Ernest Jones Sheffield Meadowhall, and my name is also Adrian
The skx is not a cheap wristwatch is affordable
I knew someone would catch that. You’re right
Totally agree on the alpinist!
I too have a very love-hate relationship with Rolex exactly for these reasons but now i want a grey dial datejust with golden accents :( what have you done to me Ted :(
hey teddy, where did you get the gray woven watch band of the Squale?
Luca Koller It looks like the Grey Perlon from Crown and Buckle.
