@Kevin Mud i sold my at the time beloved Honda CRV after Uhaul told me it couldnt tow a Volkswagen Golf. Picked up an 03 F150 5.4, I love it. One day I'll step up to an F250, or F350, Heck I love the F series trucks might as well try em all till I get to the F650
+michael smith other manufacturers are certified through SAE j2807 standards for towing. not sure if all are on board yet but if they aren't they will be.
+michael smith ford and Ram adhere to 2807 standards now. Nissan is a joke and there new truck still won't out do the big 3. Ford implemented 2807 in 2015 and Ram did in 2014, GM still hasn't but that's because they can't tow worth crap. That's why the release of the next gen hd hasn't happened yet. Toyota implemented 2807 with the 14 tundra.
Yeah you don't need 30K lbs capacity, just like you don't need your car to go 170mph top speed. But if your truck can tow maximum of 30K lbs, when you only tow 15K lbs, it will do easily. And if your car has 170mph top speed, you can cruise at 90mph very comfortably.
Been watching you guys for years. Really pleased and impressed that Ford's release of the 2017 Super Duty was in your backyard and how you guys were able to capitalize on that with your exclusive and fantastic recent videos in a way no one else could or did. Also appreciate that Ford let you do this.
You guys should get a compressor/ limiter to even up the music and talking levels, as the music comes blasting in, and you have to reach for the volume knob throughout the video, or,..better yet, ditch the music altogether!!!
Man that truck is beautiful. I want to trade in my 08 F350 KR dually 4x4 for a 17 F350 KR dually 4x4.I guess I could cash in my 401k, sell a kidney, and work OT for the next 7 years. I might be able to afford the 83K price tag. :)
those 6.4 power strokes ain't worth a shit. my pops used to have one and the motor was constainly over heating reducing power etc and he deleted everything dpf,egr etc and 300k miles later the motor granaded and it was destroyed and on top that the 6.4 is a fuel hog from hell it got 11.4 mpg on the highway. finally convenst him to buy him self a Cummins and he is extremely happy with it.
It's so beautiful! We've got a 2008 and finally in the last few months we tuned it and put a full exhaust. The thing hauls ass now, it's a 450 with the 4.55 gears so even at 80mph the truck will accelerate so hard, harder than most sports car.
I test drove the 2017 f250 6.7 4x4 the other day, WOW, best vehicle i have driven ever, We also test drove the yukon, yukon denali, navigator, explorer. Waiting for post xmas savings to pull the trigger.
So basically the reason to own an F-450 over the F-350 is those cool Semi-truck looking wheels and tires. I'm sold! Start a hauling company and call it "Lil-Semi".
I would really like to see y'all do a class 5 truck comparison on the Ike gauntlet. Would specifically like to see the RAM 5500 vs. the Ford F550. if possible, would also like to see a comparison between the RAM 5500 with the manual transmission vs. the automatic.
Actually Ive come to the conclusion that most people buying a pickuptruck almost never use it to its full potential. They just lift it, put a big ass exhaust on it that you can fit your head in it and roam around the city
What are we doing here at midnight at the bottom of the Ike? Having a blast towing heavy, long stuff with an F-450! Duh! LOL! 🤠 EDIT: Some people think the Super Bowl is the best thing ever. But I think watching these guys testing diesels pickups towing up the Ike is better! I guess I’m just weird!
Crazy how most Gas trucks get better times than the diesels.. Also I wish they would use the Same trailer and weight on every single truck so we can compare apples 2 apples But still enjoy all these videos. Thanks TFL
30,000 lb that's cute. Not many people will buy this for $80k if there not gonna use it for heavy freight, for that money you can get slightly used semi with 550 hp and 1850 ft lb . With motor that can get to million miles :)
Also, around the 10:36 mark it appears that the coolant temp is getting into dangerous territory. Shouldn't the truck be able to handle exactly this scenario? I wonder how Ford does their testing... There really needs to be a universal standard.
Coolant tempt is past half way (Which is where it is during normal driving), but its certainly not pegged out. The temp being in that range is fine, why would you think being slightly warm is bad? Especially considering this is definitely a worse case scenario.
I’ve found heading through the mountains hauling equipment with my f550 the temp would run around 230f uphill in 90f weather. The fan would lock on and almost double its speed and the engine coolant temp would drop 20f in about 30 seconds... I figure that a bit of fluctuation is normal as long as the cooling system reacts and does it’s job. I think the people at ford did a fine job, especially with the 2nd gen 6.7
Great video guys! I'm surprised that Ford allowed you to do an Ike Gauntlet review with their new truck. Most impressive is the cruise control that will apply the brakes to maintain set speed. Being able to control your speed going down the mountain is more important than being the fastest to the top. Something that is easily forgotten by amateur drivers.
A pickup truck that expensive is an irresponsible purchase regardless of what it's being used for. Where I live, governments don't even spend that much on large trucks for snow removal and highway maintenance.
+OFFRD that's because you live in a country with a lower. cost of living. if you were using these for clearing roads they wouldn't be loaded platinum models costing 83k. they would just be work trucks and much cheaper.
As RAM owner since 1991 with 4 diesel trucks over the years, I'm somewhat biased, but my first car was also a 1969 Mustang Mach 1 and I'm still a Ford racing fan. The 2017 is really a step up for Ford. I would say the new F-450 in this video seems a bit louder in the cabin than previously tested models, without or with the cooling fan running (the slightly higher noise level of RAM has been commented on in numerous reviews and I would generally agree). All said; it's a great truck. I still don't think the overall reliability of the Ford motor is equal to the RAM, but Ford's transmission is better, and it has a metric-shit-ton of new features. Good result for Ford. I do still have a problem comparing an F-450 to a RAM 3500 however.
Um no lol. the ram on the ike was hauling 21k pounds. not 30. heck the old superduty beat that rams time with 21k pounds. this one would cream that time with 21k pounds. btw it took the ram 9:58 with 21k pounds.
My thing, towing at night, does that give a real world comparison, time wise? ya'll always time the way the trucks go up the hill, but when doing it at night versus day you miss a key element factor, real world traffic, but I do also get that just as much towing happens at night. Great review
I remember when my dad bought a new f350 diesel in 1990 for 20,000$. Its amazing that these trucks now cost 80+ thousand. Granted the old 7.3 would have been crushed with 30k pounds. Unbelievable power and tech is these things. Price is just insane though. Will not bring 30k in five years.
The Deprey's What most people don't realize is, they can't just load this truck with a 30k trailer without a class A CDL. Most of these vids are irresponsible for not mentioning that fact. A lot of people believe the notion of " Its a pickup, why would they sell it at that load rating if I need a CDL." I would venture a guess that at least half the salesman that you ask that question to wouldn't know or wouldn't tell you so they can make their sales commission. New truck prices have become stupid crazy.
reneeandchrisforever you only need a cdl if you're pulling over 50k or if the load you're pulling is commercial. So if you're pulling 30k of your own stuff no cdl required
30k lbs... 900+ torque... Wow, I can remember when my dad bought a diesel Excursion brand new in 2001 and I thought 10k lbs towing capacity and 500 lb ft of torque was impressive....
I'm sorry, but $83,000 for a work truck is insane. That's roughly $1450 a month with a 60 month loan at 3%. How much the insurance is on a $83,000 truck?
Sorensenator86 good point , call me poor but i just dont see my self ever paying 1,600 dollars a mouth for a 6 yr loan on the vehicle. I just cant see the way to justify that. My house payment is just under that at 1,850 a mouth. There is no way i can justify this as a vehicle i need. I need something to hall my jeep and quads up and down I-5 Ashland summit in the rain snow or shine. And i think that this truck is for very few people.
Ray Maready I agree with you, if you can afford a truck this expensive then you should probably be buying it outright, or at least put down a hefty down payment. This truck IMO is for someone who makes over 250 K a year. There are however in places like Fort McMurray Alberta at the Oil sands where project managers and superintendents make this kind of coin, like over 100 dollars an hour.
damn that's bad ass , I just see more and more shit to go wrong on these newer trucks with all the fancy options. Oh and let's not forget some of these price tags !!
I think it did great if you think of the weight It's carrying. That's a 11% grade which means it's really steep. I'm not a Ford man but the truck did good. There is another video comparing the 450 Ford to the 350 Dodge,(2016 models) in that video the Dodge had to let off the gas to LET the Ford win. Ford commercial, no way was they going to let a Dodge win. Dodge would be my pick over the big three.
Wow, I feel better now in my 2016 Ram 3500 Laramie 4x4 Mega Cab DRW Aisin 4.10's purchase for $58,000. My max tow 30,100 (same as Ford), max payload 5393 (better!). The Ford is nice for sure and that adaptive cruise is sweet but I literally saved $25K for almost the same capability. The new 3" receiver on the Ford boosts weight ratings for towing a travel trailer. I think mine is rated at 18K vs 21K on the Ford but overall, I thought Ford was gonna hit harder than this with all the 2017 hype that's been coming out. Still a nice truck and I'm really excited to see the Ram tow it's max weight!
+Ken L. hahaha good catch. I came from an 05 Ford super duty 6.0 Lariat so I'm always calling this new one a lariat vs Laramie. Bought it at Earnhardt Dodge in Gilbert AZ
It's nice towing at night with the cooler temps. Love to see this truck tow 30,000 lbs. up mountain roads at slower speeds in CO when its 80+ degrees out. No doubt this truck will get too hot! My F-350 PowerStroke gets hot towing 16,000 lbs. Love these yuppies that only test heavy towing on highway Roads.
I doubt we'll see a review of the V-10 on this channel. The V-10 is Chassis cab only, meaning that it's only going to be used in the commercial Super Dutys.
Daniel Bell Not completely dropped. It's still used as a mid range engine in the Chassis cab trucks. Anything class 3 and under though get's either the 6.2L or 6.7L as of right now.
So what if you’re towing in inclement weather? You don’t have air brakes, how do you go downhill then? Is the traction control activated with the adaptive downhill cruise control? Is there a hand valve to stop the trailer?
So the 2017 f450 has just about the same towing capacity of the 2016 ram 3500? And the Cummins has the reliability of a semi truck/tractor. So why doesn't ford do something to make it stand out, the ram will probably have all of that electronic stuff in their 2017 so the f450 needs to step their game up Don't hate I'm stating what I'm getting from these guys
Dodge tends to be very generous with their tow ratings. Get under each of them and look at the brakes, frame and suspension and tell me which you feel would more comfortably tow 32K.
redline is 3700 for PS, 3200 for cummins. power dropoff is so steep on diesels there is no point running them above peak hp rpm www.powerstrokehub.com/6.7-power-stroke.html
I think that's a zero but it looks like a three because it's distorted by the trim around the tachometer. It looks to me like it reads 18xx or 19xx miles. Can't really tell because the bloom from the screen.
Or a Class A CDL in NC to pull a trailer with a gvw of 10000 lbs or higher. You can forget your class b. I have a 1/2 ton and need a class A to pull my 20' car hauler.
14 seconds into the video there is another 450 being tested along with this one. Ford is pretty confident in there trucks to give the keys to TFLT..Good job ford and I hope that two tone has the 10 speed tranny in it getting it ready..
Mr Truck must have an extensive background in towing. I would not want to be driving when pulling 30k lbs and I'm pretty darn experienced at pulling trailers. I topped that hill once pulling about 10k lbs in a 92 GMC with the 6.5 or 6.2 can't remember but it was really scary.
I am picking up a 2020 F450 Platinum this weekend. I would like to see the difference in time between the 2017 and 2020 F450 pulling the same weight. Quick question I am purchasing the truck with the thoughts of upgrading to a fifth at some point. My current trailer is a pull behind that is around 10k loaded. Do I still need to use my load leveling bars? I can't wait to see the difference because I am coming from a lifted 2006 f250.
Man , pretty impressive though i have done a lot or research , never the less , I love the capability of the F-450 Superduty test with 30,000 LBS. with pure muscle this big sucka can get down with a whole lot of torque in 4th gear awsome
Every person here saying "just get a semi" is arrogant and ignorant. I own a f450 its perfect for our 44 foot toy hauler (20K lbs ready to camp WITHOUT the SxS's in the back) If you have the money to get one and your going to travel either as a hot shot or a private driver you get why this trucks exists. To drive it I don't need a CDL, I don't have to watch my hours on the road when I go from state to state with my family, I can unhook from my trailer and drive to the store while we are out, It does not have the HUGE registration cost like a semi does in some states, I can put normal insurance on it, but no... believe me every keyboard hero/warrior on the internet knows more than a multi billion dollar company like Ford....
With the adaptive cruise control, how was the acceleration when a slower vehicle in front was no longer there? If you had it set on 50, then slowed to 34, did it want to race back to 50 or did it roll into the throttle easily?
Yes the price kind of high. But you guys have to look at what these trucks are built for. They're not built to sit in a garage. They're built to haul like what is semi drivers nearly haul. They're built to have a DOT number on the side of them with a 5th wheel/tough hitch behind them and a 40ft trailer. I see them so much on the big roads with freight just like we(Truck drivers) haul.
if I am towing big trailers for horses and cattle quite often should I get a ford or dodge? i have heard that the dodge with the cummins is a better engine for towing however I like the cameras that the ford has now put in their trucks to help with trailer connection and I am not sure dodge has that feature.
not a ford guy but certainly not a bad looking truck. Even the current models are good looking although I'm curious to see how the other brands will respond to ford's new offering.
you spent how much time below the posted speed limit and you didn't use your 4ways? you're supposed to use your 4ways when you're 15mph under the posted.
Would this truck make a good (5) car hauler? I do union construction during the summer months but need a new daily driver and to haul cars during the winter months. I could probably stretch the budget to a Freight liner M2....
my dad being 64 makes me feel like i would know how mr truck would drive which leads me to believe that he isn't flooring it but at the same time the fuel mileage makes me believe it though.
Hello TFL dudes!! Love your channel, big fan.Just wondering if you'll be doing more testing of the new Ram 1500's.... off road, deep snow, etc. You've only tested the Power Wagon and Rebel.... would be nice to see the new 2017 SLT be put through the paces as this is the most common daily driver... and I have one! Lol. Although mine has 3.21 gears so towing is lower.Anyways, food for thought. Thanks! Keep up the great work. Will be buying a copy of 'Truck Nuts' for sure.Joe
People gotta understand. 30k lbs is a lot. Most people wont ever pull that so this truck will do what we need to easy
One of my favourite channels. I check for new videos every day and I've watched several videos multiple times. Thanks TFLtruck!
Kinda makes me want one.. And I'm a Chevy guy.
I also never see myself towing 30,000 lbs, but it would certainly be nice to have the capacity.
yeah I`m A chevy guy too but I almost snapped my neck looking at this truck LOL its nice
+michael smith other manufacturers are certified through SAE j2807 standards for towing. not sure if all are on board yet but if they aren't they will be.

Yeah you don't need 30K lbs capacity, just like you don't need your car to go 170mph top speed. But if your truck can tow maximum of 30K lbs, when you only tow 15K lbs, it will do easily. And if your car has 170mph top speed, you can cruise at 90mph very comfortably.

this is the most comprehensive truck review channel.....ever!
Great looking lineup of HD's. We'll have to wait and see about reliability and longevity.
Thanks for putting this together, I really appreciate it. The 2017 F450 in black and dually configuration looks menacing.
The best super duty ever, I love it
please put a camera under the truck so we can see the axle wrap and drive angles under these loads.
You'll be one of a hand full to select a underbody camera. Go put a GoPro if you wanna see axle wrap
nbookie smart guy
Man that truck is beautiful. I want to trade in my 08 F350 KR dually 4x4 for a 17 F350 KR dually 4x4.I guess I could cash in my 401k, sell a kidney, and work OT for the next 7 years. I might be able to afford the 83K price tag. :)
that's the platinum model though, base model would probably be almost 20 grand less

I find it gross.

test it in the middle of summer in the middle of the day
I test drove the 2017 f250 6.7 4x4 the other day, WOW, best vehicle i have driven ever,
We also test drove the yukon, yukon denali, navigator, explorer.
Waiting for post xmas savings to pull the trigger.
Just ordered ours, 2017 F350 Lariat DRW in Caribou. Traded in my 2011, Black F350 Lariat SRW.
I love that adaptive cruise control on my '15 F150 Ecoboost. Love the truck.
I wonder if I can tow my kayak with that...
I dunno man, that's a lot of boat lol 😆
Ford specifically stated that the new superduty cannot handle the brutal load from a kayak and that it puts it over the maximum GVWR.
am I missing something
You'll have to watch the temperature gauge lol!
I don't think it can tow a duck camper
So basically the reason to own an F-450 over the F-350 is those cool Semi-truck looking wheels and tires. I'm sold! Start a hauling company and call it "Lil-Semi".

You guys are awesome. God Bless.
You should test the chassis cab trucks. Those are the trucks that people really work hard.
Gave the video a thumbs up before hitting play. Awesome stuff!!
Jesus Christ $83k zzz I cant wait to see these lifted and parked outside of St@rbucks.
so tru..more so with f250's tho
Nobody buys DRW trucks to sit outside starbucks
+fordrac1ng81 Maybe nobody you know.
Right! Sitting cleaner than a Bentley Mulsanne.
Actually Ive come to the conclusion that most people buying a pickuptruck almost never use it to its full potential. They just lift it, put a big ass exhaust on it that you can fit your head in it and roam around the city

You can't take your family to church in your semi on sunday. That's the difference.
Good gravy, I'd hate to daily drive a F450...and that's from a guy who cheerfully DD's an F150
yourfast07 your dumb 😊
fordrac1ng81 - I hope a semi driver sees this and says "Challenge Accepted."
wasup *you're
Beautiful truck for sure

Heat kills these trucks
I don't see where your looking, I looked and didn't see anything.
+William Dixon look again it's there but for a moment. Seconds later when the camera goes back its at normal
I’ve found heading through the mountains hauling equipment with my f550 the temp would run around 230f uphill in 90f weather. Looking forward to seeing the new duramax as well. Great review guys. Bring some of that cool air to Texas please.
So if you have been testing 450s, when will you test 4500s from GM and Ram? I do not see testing a 450 the same as the 350 or 3500s.
Shawn Shenton they dont have them in pickup and you dont really see them around
A 4500 is a kodiak from GM it wouldn’t be far for Ford or Ram
Just did the super Ike in my Volvo semi. 79220lbs. 16:32 minutes 1.9MPG
no the 2015 powerstroke went faster than the ram and silverado. the only thing the ram won was the fuel economy. the f350 holds the record.
Love my 16

Eighty. Three. Thousand. Dollars.
Expensive for those who don't run businesses, cheap for those who do. Not many will spec it out as a platinum model, though
A pickup truck that expensive is an irresponsible purchase regardless of what it's being used for. Where I live, governments don't even spend that much on large trucks for snow removal and highway maintenance.
+OFFRD if your local gov wanted a HD truck they probably wouldn't go all the way up to a platinum though. That probably adds 30k to the price tag.
+OFFRD that's because you live in a country with a lower. cost of living. if you were using these for clearing roads they wouldn't be loaded platinum models costing 83k. they would just be work trucks and much cheaper.
+OFFRD Irresponsible? Give me break. People make money and spend on what they like, not necessarily what they need.

Yeah it can tow almost 30k but they tested it with 21k
+Gavin Steiling We tested the Ram HD with 21,400lbs trailer last year. We hope to get the 30,000 lbs run soon.
i wonder how long they would last if they towed that weight on a daily basis, my guess is they would need a new tranny in no time or a new engine
+Edward Hall lame
My thing, towing at night, does that give a real world comparison, time wise? ya'll always time the way the trucks go up the hill, but when doing it at night versus day you miss a key element factor, real world traffic, but I do also get that just as much towing happens at night. Great review
+Darius Kila We always try to avoid traffic. If our run is affected by traffic we either redo the run or state the difference.
At night cooler temp's more condensed air means more power the engine can make.

TFL rocks !!!
$83k- now 5 years later $30k very nice!
Jorge Garcia where'd y
Yeah you are not familiar with the truck market used f450 platinum are still going over 60k.
Great video guys congrats on first 2017 super duty real world. Truck looks amazing pulling that load.
i bought a semi volvo truck for 26k and it can stop 70,000 pounds.. why would anyone pay that much for a truck..
because they have tiny dicks and smaller brains.

wasup get a real shop
I really enjoy these vids.
At this point just get a Mac truck
Or a used Peterbilt.
seriously
+Donald Trump I want to use the truck to build a wall
trump 2016!
Gas is like 50% lower in the Mack than the Super Duty.
What new truck do YOU know of that tows 15 tons cheaper?
+bcubed72 a 08 Volvo semi goes for about 30.
It's not just a work truck, it's also a space ship, it's a platinum model, they come with features luxury sedans have.
I love this new 6.7 but I'm getting one in a new f250 to haul my fifth wheel . This f450 is what you pull a 43ft fifth wheel with. Mine is just 30ft.
F-250 vs Silverado 2500 vs RAM 2500 V8's up in super Ike Gauntlet!! PLEASE!!
damn that's bad ass , I just see more and more shit to go wrong on these newer trucks with all the fancy options. Oh and let's not forget some of these price tags !!
This is Ford always been better than any other truck
The ford has ceramic bearings in the turbo.
+William Dixon they changed that on 2015+
Not as bad as a dirty Ram
wait So I'm not against any particular truck, I like them all, but didn't this truck do bad in this video?
Nice. Which dealership did you get the truck from? And, I think you meant Laramie. Lariat is a Ford.
My guess is that a new f-350 in lariat trim would be quite a bit closer to that price point.
+Ken L. hahaha good catch. I came from an 05 Ford super duty 6.0 Lariat so I'm always calling this new one a lariat vs Laramie. Bought it at Earnhardt Dodge in Gilbert AZ
Thanks. Enjoy your Ram 3500. I am thinking about one as well.
This is a Platnium with a heck of alot more goodies in it . Plus added weight. Cant compare sorry!
What year f350 do you have? I haven’t had any issues with 16000 lbs
That truck lights look awesome
Would love to see a review on the 6.2 gas.
And the v10
I doubt we'll see a review of the V-10 on this channel. The V-10 is Chassis cab only, meaning that it's only going to be used in the commercial Super Dutys.
They dropped the V10 years ago. The 6.2 is a V8.
Daniel Bell Not completely dropped. It's still used as a mid range engine in the Chassis cab trucks. Anything class 3 and under though get's either the 6.2L or 6.7L as of right now.
Here's your review. Don't bother looking in to it. Ford finally got their diesels sorted out.
it looks so nice with this headlights
my 97 f350 can easily do this. certainly not at the same speed but none the less I haven't been impressed yet. I'll keep my 7.3
So what if you’re towing in inclement weather? You don’t have air brakes, how do you go downhill then? Is the traction control activated with the adaptive downhill cruise control? Is there a hand valve to stop the trailer?
Powerstroke>Cummins>Durashit
Those headlights look really cool
So the 2017 f450 has just about the same towing capacity of the 2016 ram 3500? And the Cummins has the reliability of a semi truck/tractor.
So why doesn't ford do something to make it stand out, the ram will probably have all of that electronic stuff in their 2017 so the f450 needs to step their game up
Don't hate I'm stating what I'm getting from these guys
No. f450 hauls 32,500 pounds. the f350 hauls 32,000 pounds. the ram 3500 hauls 31,200 pounds.
Dodge tends to be very generous with their tow ratings. Get under each of them and look at the brakes, frame and suspension and tell me which you feel would more comfortably tow 32K.
you have it twisted it's the other way around hahaha
Semi like reliability? No...
+Wilson Productions Thats not true sorry
They were using the night vision camera at 9:54 . Does anyone else see that light in the engine bay? Is that turbo glowing?
just waiting for Keyboard Commando to make his/her tasteless comments. Also, does anyone else think the redline on this truck seem low?
No because diesel.
+Patrick Connolly Wasn't sure. Thanks. I've always wanted a truck, but the lack of a budget and need for one has kept me from it.
It's actually decently high for a diesel.
redline is 3700 for PS, 3200 for cummins. power dropoff is so steep on diesels there is no point running them above peak hp rpm
www.powerstrokehub.com/6.7-power-stroke.html
That's high for a diesel u fucking idiot.
Great video guys👍
That truck already has 30K+ miles on it?!
yeah it hit 32k when they were near the tunnel
It's a Ford test truck. They put a lot of miles on them in a short time.
yeah If I am right the vehicles they test at ford are phased out and sent to people like TFL to run their own tests and such
I think that's a zero but it looks like a three because it's distorted by the trim around the tachometer. It looks to me like it reads 18xx or 19xx miles. Can't really tell because the bloom from the screen.
Love watching these dually pull
Can see why you did it at night. Probably get shot going that slow.
Yes, only downhill. I know it might not be overloaded by manufactures ratings. In this case just shows you that tow wars in affect.
thats why you stay in the right lane when you're towing a load like this. Cars and unloaded trucks can pass. It's not a problem.
Its here boyz!!!
And ford forgot to say you need a class B CDl to pull 30,000. Another ford mess up.
+caleb simth Mr Truck has a CDL. Sorry that we forgot to mention it.
Or a Class A CDL in NC to pull a trailer with a gvw of 10000 lbs or higher. You can forget your class b. I have a 1/2 ton and need a class A to pull my 20' car hauler.
You mean a Class A.
How is that Fords fault? That is up to the driver of the vehicle to understand the laws of the road he or she is driving on.
+thatdamguy00 You are absolutely correct.
I can't wait to buy one of these. Will be an XL OR XLT
i still like the silverado better
Ahhhhhhh but this is one bad Ford but you pay for it.
+William Dixon wut?
Silverado are nice but this is ONE BAD Ford but you'll pay for it *IF* you buy one.
William Dixon do you mean bad as in bad or bad as in bad ass
Marthalamule Mcleish bad ass. he doesnt know what trucks are good.
14 seconds into the video there is another 450 being tested along with this one. Ford is pretty confident in there trucks to give the keys to TFLT..Good job ford and I hope that two tone has the 10 speed tranny in it getting it ready..
Again i liked it till Andre came on PLEASE STOP LETTING HIM DO THESE REVIEWS!!!
what the hell is wrong with Andre
Mr Truck must have an extensive background in towing. I would not want to be driving when pulling 30k lbs and I'm pretty darn experienced at pulling trailers. I topped that hill once pulling about 10k lbs in a 92 GMC with the 6.5 or 6.2 can't remember but it was really scary.
Mr. Truck has his Class A cdl license I believe they said, so he can drive a tractor trailer legally, let alone a truck and trailer.
holy shit, that f450 can knock the earth off course with all that power
Love my 2019 F-350 DRW!
Honestly what a beautiful truck!
For that price stick with a KW T170 or T270 that has a proven dealer network to support the truck when you need repairs!
+T Hud It was relatively gentle to get back to 50 mph. But we were also on a downhill.
I have the 08' 6.4 and have pulled my gravel trailer @ 38,000 pounds Combined. With Chipped Delete package.
It's $83k because its an F450 Platinum. A quad cab F250 Lariat with the powerstroke will cost about $57k.
I have looking for your review of the 2017, so thanks.!!! But $83000.. Holy crap, I'm going to need $10000 in rebates.
That run separates the men from the boys. Impressive run by the Superduty.
if I am towing big trailers for horses and cattle quite often should I get a ford or dodge? i have heard that the dodge with the cummins is a better engine for towing however I like the cameras that the ford has now put in their trucks to help with trailer connection and I am not sure dodge has that feature.
not a ford guy but certainly not a bad looking truck. Even the current models are good looking although I'm curious to see how the other brands will respond to ford's new offering.
you spent how much time below the posted speed limit and you didn't use your 4ways? you're supposed to use your 4ways when you're 15mph under the posted.
That's a beautiful truck I have got to get one. I only have 60 payments left on my ram 2500 which I love!! So I'm gonna have to have both😜
Would this truck make a good (5) car hauler? I do union construction during the summer months but need a new daily driver and to haul cars during the winter months. I could probably stretch the budget to a Freight liner M2....
Is the fifth wheel under the bed? Also how are the trailer brakes operated? I’m from the uk
Seems like the boost gauge never moved from the half way mark even when he was full throttle and it down shifted. Any thoughts?
sometimes i feel like kent never puts the pedal to the floor..
+larry Spiller yeah I feel the same most trucks will downshift and hit Rev limiter before they sit at 2000rmps loosing speed
my dad being 64 makes me feel like i would know how mr truck would drive which leads me to believe that he isn't flooring it but at the same time the fuel mileage makes me believe it though.
Doesn't the F450 also use what is essentially a medium commercial rear axle, verses the F250 and F350, which use a heavy duty pickup axle?
Nope.
+BUILT DIESEL MAFIA 1 Yes! Last one had a Dana S110 and my guess is this one will be something similar
negative
+Micah Watts I guess if that's your idea of a medium duty axle then sure. but it's really not.
Micah Watts
Its actually a Dana S130 axle in the current F450
im not shocked with this our 2009 f450 pulls a 53 ft tri axle pj goose neck up and down them mnts all the time plated weight 38k its a tough bird.
Can't wait to get my new f-350
Hello TFL dudes!! Love your channel, big fan.Just wondering if you'll be doing more testing of the new Ram 1500's.... off road, deep snow, etc. You've only tested the Power Wagon and Rebel.... would be nice to see the new 2017 SLT be put through the paces as this is the most common daily driver... and I have one! Lol. Although mine has 3.21 gears so towing is lower.Anyways, food for thought. Thanks! Keep up the great work. Will be buying a copy of 'Truck Nuts' for sure.Joe
Does the F450 your testing come with the tire pressure monitoring option.
which weighs more a pound of hammers or a pound of feathers? if you do the speed limit in both trucks????
