Thanks for the video. Betting you saved me some headache when I go check mine. I may drive lots of VWs now but would love to see how and where that Z is going!
Hey man sucks to hear about the gti. I’m on my 4th GTI still have my mk7 and the radiator just went, probably why your vid showed up lol.. I’m holding out for an EV GTI now but nice car nine the less… thumbs up and subbed for ya
That’s awesome that you have had so many , just a testament to these cars haha. That sucks that your radiator blew. Thank you for the support on the channel ! I’m definitely interested to see what they come up with for the EV GTI and how the driving feel will compare to what we have now.
@@octane_media I usually keep a car 3/4 years but my mk7 had been so good I’ve had it since 2014 when they first came rolling out. I saw you have a baby on the way lol have a car seat in the back of mine as we speak. Great car. Plan on keepin the next one another 10 thus why I think EV will be the way to go the ID 3 GX
@@ajcap we have actually had our little girl since this video and there’s a car seat in the back of ours now as well ! She’s 5 months old now and it’s been an exciting experience being a dad and also still being into cars from what we can tell she enjoys being in the garage tinkering with us.
@@octane_media awesome man congrats! Mk8 looks great . I had mine slammed on H&R coils the first few years but other than euro led tails she’s pretty much stock . But nice channel 👍🏻
I did for the first 1000 miles maybe just when it was brand new it’s the first few times everything heat cycles and starts to break in I believe. I don’t know if it’s the coating on the parts or just from things being touched so much but yes. If it continues to happen aft 1000-1500 I’d go talk to your dealer about it.
Maintenance is not I do that myself on all of them , the parts can be a little spend just a little less than Audis are. Overall I would say that they aren’t particularly more or less than other cars.
super smart bro, great job thank you! My mk7.5 has burnt through 2 elbows from the radiator detaching and falling back :(
I didn’t realize that it had been a problem on the Mk7 GTI as well that’s interesting thank you for sharing the information with me !

Thanks for the comment man ! The biggest piece I’ve been missing for the z is supposed to be aging up this week !

Opposite of recess is detention, jk. Actually it’d be protrusion.
Have you ever had a burning smell after driving and getting out? I have a 23 mk8 700 miles and I've smelled it a few times after driving

Is the maintenance and parts very expensive on a GTI?

MK 7.5 GTI would of been a better choice
