I keep loosing the top 3/4 inch of coolant from the reservoir over the course of a month or two, i haven't been able to spot a leak either (havent had it on a lift to look from the underside though.

@@hpls8160 my water pump and was faulty. So i changed that. And now back to normal. No issues
Can also leak from the coolant flange that sits at the top off the engine at the back just found this out . Sits close to the turbo so burns off any leaking fluid so can be hard to spot
I changed that 2 months ago I saw some leak today
Have a 2014 Golf mk7 1.4l TSI Petrol and in the front passenger seat there is a leak in the footwell. The thing is there is a problem with the coolant aswell it finishes quicker than it should do so there must be a leak there aswell. Either it’s 2 separate issues or the coolant leak is going towards the front passenger seat footwell. Not sure what to do now as we bought it about 4/5 months ago and got tints on the car and replaced the brake pads and discs and a lot of other things so spent a lot.
Not sure what to do now.
Either try get it repaired because there was a problem when we bought it with the coolant leak, so try see if they can repair it again (if they even fixed it in the first place) or try to sell it. MOT and service is soon aswell
Are you able to identify if the interior leak is coolant or a water leak?

Hey, how long can you get away with not getting this done. have this booked under warranty
but they cannot get me in for another 24 days. Am I OK to keep an eye on the fluid and keep it topped up?
I imagine you’ll be fine if you keep fluid where it needs to be in the meantime

I have this gunky stuff on the inside of the coolant lid is this something I should be worried about
Has incorrect coolant or any kind of stop leak additive been added to the cooling system?
Is it possible for coolant to get onto the starter and make it harder to start the car?

Just got my water pump replaced n the coolant light came on and the coolant was low. 2016 gTI. 🤦🏽♂️

@@EuropeanAutoRepair idk man. I doubt it. The light came one and I added some coolant and it came back on today. Probably going to have to take it to someone who works on these cars cause our mechanic at our shops might not be doing something right lol
@@EuropeanAutoRepair I’m not a mechanic but I work on the airbag system and I clear crash data from airbag modules so I can do some basic mechanic stuff but this job is probably too big for me. What can you recommend for me to check ?

How much does this usually cost?
Not sure on parts pricing but usually around 5 labor hours I believe
About $1200. 400-500 for part and 5-6 hours labor.
