Oh my gosh Brian. The shelling was amazing. Six more days I leave for Juno and the Palms (you gave me that incentive) and then over to Marco Island for a week. I can't wait to go over to Dickmans and Kice, my favorites. Wish me luck to find a "J" !!!!!
Southwest Florida beaches are fabulous for shelling. My favorite place for shelling. I've not found a Scotch Bonnet or Queen conch. Or a Horse conch. What an awesome day at the beach!
I'm so not a fan of the cold, hence why I live in Florida, but man you are right about those cold fronts. The shells can be amazing!! Dickman's Island can be absolutely epic! Nice video as always!
@@solaceinshelling6552 They really are. I was out there yesterday (just north or the 10k island) and I think that Idalia is still pushing in shells for us!
Fabulous shells. The array of size and colours of the Apple Murex shells was amazing. Thank you so much for bearing the cold to bring us such a great experience. 🥶🐚😃
You found some amazingly beautiful shells today as always. The lace and apple murax are just beautiful. You can see so many details in these shells along with all the other beautiful shells. Thank you for a great shelling video. Have a great day 😊
There is a shelling device that you can purchase. It has a collapsing long handle with a little metal basket on the end so if you see something in cold water or not quite reach the shell, you can pull this out and scoop up the desired shell. I am so thinking about getting one for myself.
STUNN-ING!!! I have to admit I was a little jelly not being able to there too. I would have loved to have been there for that adorable treasure hunt. As always, brilliant vlog and thanks for sharing xxx
Winter is said to be the best time to go because of the amount and variety of shells. I intend to pack all my warmest clothes, including long johns that I can wear under my jeans. I will not get cold!
We’ve been to the 10K numerous times and I completely agree- one of the best shelling experiences ever! We found 2 rose murex on our last visit. Can’t wait to go back!! Great video!
What a spectacular day you had! I love the intensity of color of the shells, especially the chocolate alphabet cone, the orange true tulip and the purple murex. Just beautiful!
From my personal experience, shells coming from the 10k islands always seem to be a bit more vividly hued than at other spots in SWFL - interesting! Thanks for watching!
Magnificent shells and you have such a great video style. I just went out with Reel Kind this past weekend and collected hundreds of shells on Shell Island. I also did Turner and Bowman on Sanibel and Tigertail on Marco Island. The shells were everywhere, but you definitely can’t beat the 10,00 islands you can only get to by boat, so many shells even in the summer so you don’t have to freeze!

Was this recorded recently? I have found many broken paper figs at Sanibel but they are such a delicate shell, I have never been lucky enough to find a whole one. Same story with the angel wings.
I don't mean to make another comment, but I have always wanted a pen shell. I know you guys are not fond of pen shells. I am up here in the north. Is there a way I can get one or two? Thanks in advance for letting me know.
As for me, I enjoy learning, so I love to guess what shell it is, but when you grab them, you don't always say what it is. In this video you might mention them but it's like under your breath, so we can't always hear it. Great video, though. Beautiful scenery.
Hi shell friend! Yeah, this was definitely not my best work with audio - the conditions were horrible. I am always trying to improve the learning experience here. Thanks for watching!

In SW Florida, and the 10K islands in particular, I find that the Apple Murex can have such great tonal variation.
