I love how the super mario world underground melody is slowly faded out as mario gets closer to the final bosses. It's almost as if the music is transitioning from "this is a hidden palace trapped underground" to "the world is at stake, it's now or never!"
I spent this entire chapter just wide-eyed. I started it with my mind blown and it kept growing more incredibly as it went on.
I was shocked and I felt a sense of tension when the music didn’t change when you battled enemies.
Honestly, full orchestral arrangements really fit TTYD way more than I expected it to.

I’ll have to say that these themes are _much_ better than the original theme for the palace. These include more of a classical motif with orchestral instruments (although often paired with rock instruments), which befits the palace’s gilded baroque motif. The Path to the Throne variant I can tell also has a few classical-style flourishes.
In all honesty, the palace was probably the most like a real-life palace out of all the palaces/castles seen in the Mario franchise (especially since I have been to estates with rooms with interior designs similar to it when I visited the UK). I guess that’s why when I draw the Shadow Queen (not Peach but the Shadow Queen herself), I really put such a huge emphasis on the whole royal theme lol
It been 15-20 years i'm not played this game so in 3 days I put 23-27 hours in it and I'm in palace of shadow with original music
But yesterday when I do the moon section and before I put remake ost and it love it
The ost when you fight in snow area
This one better than original cause it keep played while fighting
The things is i just much loved and nostalgic form original ost and I see remake one like lost the vibe of some music to me
I would like to add now my childhood hype was passed I not seen the remix theme like bad
Just for me the original music was my childhood the best ever not to be touched but now i'm calm XD and I would like to replayed only with remix music gladly
I don't have a word with enough meaning to say how much I love this music.
Starting from 6:06 towards the ending gives me goosebumps the singing is almost like as if the shadow queen herself was luring you in with her singing voice I love it
They did not have to go this hard
Man, I hated the Door Maze but other than that, the Shadow Palace was really fun to go through especially while enjoying this banger OST
Was it less obvious in the original?
@@ivanthegreativan_rodriguez4958 I never got to play the original.
@@ivanthegreativan_rodriguez4958they made the maze have a more complicated solution in the remake. in the original you never had to use the left two doors. it's not that terrible to figure out albeit there's nothing quite like this else wise lmao
I never realized how threatening the second riff in the underground theme could be until that violin came in.
