Thanks for compiling this together. I found the original song to be fairly unremarkable and I expected a similar situation in the remake but it really blew me away by the end of the dungeon. The final variation changes the Underground theme's rhythm or timing just a little and that small change turned it into something so much more. The whole medley made for an epic finale that I was not expecting!

The final boss theme is an altered slower version of the final boss theme from Wario Land 3

I recently beat this Game on retroarch emulator

I love how the super mario world underground melody is slowly faded out as mario gets closer to the final bosses. It's almost as if the music is transitioning from "this is a hidden palace trapped underground" to "the world is at stake, it's now or never!"

I don't have a word with enough meaning to say how much I love this music.

I never realized how threatening the second riff in the underground theme could be until that violin came in.

Honestly, full orchestral arrangements really fit TTYD way more than I expected it to.

Man, I hated the Door Maze but other than that, the Shadow Palace was really fun to go through especially while enjoying this banger OST

(Reposting this comment here) I’ll have to say that these themes are _much_ better than the original theme for the palace. These include more of a classical motif with orchestral instruments (although often paired with rock instruments), which befits the palace’s gilded baroque motif. The Path to the Throne variant I can tell also has a few classical-style flourishes. In all honesty, the palace was probably the most like a real-life palace out of all the palaces/castles seen in the Mario franchise (especially since I have been to estates with rooms with interior designs similar to it when I visited the UK). I guess that’s why when I draw the Shadow Queen (not Peach but the Shadow Queen herself), I really put such a huge emphasis on the whole royal theme lol
