Making different battle themes for each area is the best possible change they could have made, battles feel so much fresher now that you're listening to a different theme each time
I've never played original Gamecube version (on account of never owning a Gamecube) so this remake was my first proper experience of TTYD (barring speedruns and challenge runs but like. cmon. those skip all of the plot) and so far my most favorite little embellishment this game has is the intro to combat theme differs whether or not you've got a first strike, encountered enemy normally, or *was* first-struck by enemy (with the latter being a minor keey version of that intro). absolutely love a little detail like this.
Yeah that's SO COOL. You rrally can feel the "First-Attack = Good" and "Enemy Attack = Bad" thing directly JUMPING into those awesome battle themes. Just amazing

Good choice. Chapter 6 is up there with Chapter 1 and Moon for me! They fit their environment perfectly! They did such an amazing job! I was so stunned the first time I heard them
Chapter 6 hits so damn hard and you only get to hear it so few times in the game 😭 I wish in the post game you could have a theme randomizer where you could select which battle themes you want to play and it randomly selects per battle, similar to what you can do in Smash.
Yeah it really sucks that it really only plays during the stop at the middle train station. It's an awesome theme nevertheless... Just shows how much they committed and cared for this remake!

S-Tier: CH.07, CH.02, CH.06 A-Tier: Various, CH.01 B-Tier: Moon, CH.03 C-Tier: CH.04 D-Tier: CH.05 The 07 one is seriously insanely good. It feels more like a traditional JRPG battle theme pacing and melody-wise all while keeping some of that Paper Mario charm. And the leading synth for real sounds super similar to some of the Bravely Default 2 battle theme synths.
I'd put chapter 4 higher but otherwise this is a fantastic list. I agree it's absolutely insane how good chapter 7 is. For a while chapter 6 was my favorite but 7 has really grown on me, its instrumentation is magical
It’s fascinating seeing everyone’s different takes on which ones are better, I love to see the different opinions. I don’t always agree personally but it’s great to see how each version has someone in its corner
Well. That definitely is no reason for their opinion to not be valid. I also think that we do not need to get back. Cuz'... Most of the community agrres that the new renditions of the battle themes SLAP freakin' hard. And those that are not pleased with the new music... the whole soundtrack is 99% better than the original and the fact they gave every major boss and chapter a unique battle theme made the game a million times better. My only issue is that it isn't 60fps like the original and the train theme doesn't have the filter from the original's song
@@Lucca_Time rougeport sounds try hard thou, calm down there am I right? I also feel like they changed a lot of the melancholic thematic of specific songs and added them rock ish or punk tones, like the crystal stars theme, or how they removed the malice out of shadow queen's part 2 theme. Personally, I still think they pull it off
What is your favorite new Battle Theme of them all? Do you think they did a great job with putting these new versions together? Let me know in the comments below!
Chapter 1 is a classic return to form Chapter 2 always sounded like the horns were the punies singing along, which I always appreciated Chapter 3 really gets rock and electric, really fitting the BATTLE TO THE DEATH vibes of that chapter Chapter 4 has some classic horror elements (That ine Oooooeeeeeoooooo instrument) and feels like it could be an intense battle is an old abandoned manor Chapter 5 sounds like youre deep in a jungle fighting wild animals Chapter 6 has such a fun swing rhythm, and a jazzy feel, which im not sure if it fits the vibe of an old post which feels kinda western, but holy hell it goes hard AF. Cuphead type shit here Chapter 7 sounds very icy, with the shorter notes and the chimes, it really sucks that this theme goes so hard but isnt heard cuz theres like, 2 enemy variants to fight The other themes, if i remember its in rhe Pit of 100 Trials, tho correct me if im wrong, but im pretty sure it is. Because i remember being like, "Yknoe the pit seems like a fun challenge maybe ill beat it" like right after beating chapter 4. Yea. The secret boss gave me a run for my money but damn I loved it regardless lmao The moon def fits the techy vide that the Xnauts have. It honestly gives off Super Paper Mario vibes, which is really awesome tho probably not intended Great game, would buy again to have Nintendo make another Paper Mario game like this
So I'm no musical expert, but paying close attention to each variation in the remake got me wondering: is TTYD's battle theme derived from the classic overworld theme, at least during the intro section? I know the Palace of Shadows includes nods to the underground and castle themes, so maybe it's not too far-fetches of an idea... but I'm not certain lol
@luccatime I meant that I'd love for someone to come up with arrangements for 64's battle theme to fit each chapter. That is, unless we get an actual remake on the next console...
I was already hooked with chapter 1's remix (good stuff) , then chapter 5 uses one of my favorite note arrangements (great stuff) only to then chapter 6's arrangement (ASCENSION! 💫)
9. Chapter 7: It feels more dreamy than any other one and I feel split between this one. On one hand it sounds really good, but it doesn't really stick with me. 8. Chapter 3: More on the rock side, and while it fits the Glitzpit 7. Chapter 2: It feels calmer(?) and fits its setting pretty well. 6. Chapter 1: The Classic battle theme. You can't go wrong with it. 5. Chapter 4: I love how they added a mysterious tone to this one. Really fits trying to find out Doo_liss' name. 4. Various: This one's great. I don't know where it plays except for Hooktail Castle and the Pit, but it fits for just being a stand-in for the normal one. 3. Chapter 6: I hear the battle theme from Sticker star leaking out at be beginning, but I'm not complaining. It's really jazzy(?) and fits the theming of Chapter 6 perfectly 2. Chapter 5: Absolutely love it. Changing all the instruments to be more Jungle-like was a good decision. 1. Moon: Ok, I want to know who decided that the moon should have a rave party, because that person needs a raise. This one is absolutely phenomenal and the best battle theme for me. All of these themes are phenomenal and even last place is really good. That just shows how good the soundtrack is.
@@Lucca_Time It's insane how they added so much to the OST, there's some much variations that the amount of music tripled, or even quadrupled, compared to the original game.
This video reminda me of the dynamic themes that came out on youtube after Devil May cry V came out. Like i keep waiting for an S version with drums and guitars
I'll be honest, I wasn't a big fan of the original battle theme. It's not *bad,* God no, but it's not something where I'm like, "Yeah, I'd go listen to this in my free time." So, imagine how over the moon (heh) I was when I found out that they're taking the TOK approach of having variants! For me: 9. Various. Definitely not a bad way to introduce you to the "Oh? Different versions? That's awesome!" feeling. 8. Chapter 1. Now, if we didn't have the variations, I definitely wouldn't mind having this playthrough the entire game. It blows the original version out of the water for me. 7. Chapter 6. And now we transition to some lovely jazz. Out of them all, it probably feels the most unique of them, but I think I slightly prefer the others more. 6. Chapter 5. There's something about the beginning portion that sounds so nice to my ears... 5. Chapter 4. Spooky vibes, but it still sounds super fun! I love it! 4. Chapter 7. You don't hear it for very long, and maybe that's why it really caught my attention. It kinda has this sense of finality to it, which makes sense. It is the second to last Chapter, after all. 3. Chapter 2. Oh man... This used to be my "least" favorite one, but I've definitely changed my tune on it. It's *so* beautiful and I'm absolutely in love with flutes... 2. Chapter 3. For how much battling you're gonna be doing here, I appreciate how catchy this version is! Definitely something that'll pump me up for a fight, but not as much as... 1. Moon/X-Naut Fortress. Sooo insanely catchy and upbeat! I can't help but bounce along as it plays! As soon as I heard it, I knew it was gonna be my favorite!
Wow! Awesome description of every chapter and theme in general! Definitely undertandable. I really like that the normal barrle theme used to loop at around 0:30 seconds and the new remade bartle theme (Chapter 1) lasts about 1:26min before the next loop
They must continue to do this. Who knows if the next installment will give us the kind of game we want, but I can't wait to hear even more battle themes for Paper Mario 7.
1: I never cared much about the OG but this bombastic rendition brings it up to speed 2: Nice forest one to listen to, and fits the area, but probably the least memorable of the bunch 3: Perfect for an arena, though the progression throws me off every time 4: Spooky, perfect for the situation at hand 5: Never thought I'd like the jungle variation this much but holy damn 6: I was NOT ready for it to be this jazzy HELLO. Strongest first impression 7: Feels mysterious, wish it played longer in game Various: Kinda reminds me of Origami King ngl. Unsure if Hooktail Castle was the best place for it but the Pit was a good call Moon: Damn I want an X-naut as a DJ at a party cause this is peak
While I prefer Origami King’s battle music for being more distinct and memorable, this is such an AWESOME and CREATIVE way to do a remake’s music! It’s like the original TTYD battle theme is so memorable and ingrained that the new variants can take wild liberties and still be recognizable. They’re so weird and chaotic and chopped up, but the general melody of the original keeps it bound and just cohesive enough! So cool!
They took the concept from The Origami King and made it even better, because the variety in areas in TTYD is way greater than that of TOK, so the way they rearranged everything to fit the vibe is absolutely gorgeous.
Yeah they went ALL OUT with this OST... I mean.. Look at chapter 6's battle theme... Or chapter 7's snow theme... Like... They are only used for such small passages... And they still wen ALL OUT for them!
I have to say... I went in bopping to the classic one, but was completrly shocked to hear the Pit/Hooktail Castle one! That one was a goddamn jumpscare and i loved every second. Then they continued to knock each and every battle theme out of the park.... i cannot decide which one honestly. Chapter 6 aas definitely the most shocking though, and goddamn all these themes slap
@@Lucca_Time yeah it Made going thru the pit a ton more badass, and gave the stronger enemies a chance to shine. I honestly can't with he ogbattle theme anymore, because these new ones did such a good job of breaking the monotonous vibe and making each and every area feel unique... especially the pit and the palace, and literally every area..
@@thegreenthunder2 Yeah it was so fun. There is ONE thing I wish for the next game though. After completing the finale you should be able to fight against STRONG enemies in every chapter. So like that every chapter gets very hard enemies after defeating the final boss. Therefore you can enjoy those battle (and farm XP) much better
@@Lucca_Time That woild be awesome!!! It would also be nice if we could also refight bosses like we did in origami king. I also hope they keep the endings post-game from now on like ttyd and super and not this dumb crap where it goes back to just before you beat the final boss like color splash and Origami king, that was my one gripe. I prefer hat the post game makes the world its own new and brighter place now that mario has helped it, and not revert back to "Oh you know mario I didn't actually die cuz we still. Haven't fought the bad guy yet" which made for such a weird premise when I feel like the games would have benefitted from not doing this. Especially origami king because peaches castle could be a post-game exploration area..... I hope the next game does not continue this trope
Gotta share some love for Chapter 2’s version. Love the flutes and brass, but the real highlight is that new line. It adds a twinge of despair, until the other instruments slowly come back in and build up into a triumph. It makes me think of the Puni Army going from just Punio into 100 squishy little weirdos (and a Jabbi) reclaiming their home.
Is it weird for me to say that this remake feels like a combination of parts of the original ttyd(overall game), with parts of origami king(music and graphics)?
I love it, too. Origami King will probably always remain my favorite for nostalgia reasons, but whatever doubt I previously had about TTYD being the overall best Paper Mario has disappeared with how good this remake is.
Honestly, the battle themes were really nice. One of the things about the old game was that the battle music did eventually get old, since it was used for EVERY regular battle theme. Also Chapter 5 is giving me Crash Bandicoot vibes.
I get that Crash Bandicoot vibe. Never thought of it though. I REALLY like that they're doing such an remix / version thing of the regular battle theme. REALLY adds up to the interesting aspeact of every new chapter.
@@Lucca_Time Same, it also gives it so much more of a new feeling than you would normally get from a remake! But there's honestly just a lot of small changes, like NPCs reacting to being hit with your hammer that, while I imagine some people might be complaining about it, I just really enjoy. …sounds a bit odd to say that I enjoy NPCs and partners reacting to being smacked with a hammer but I’m sure you get what I mean about the little changes that help make it feel a bit newer and like they put some care into remaking the game.
Wish there was a badge or option to enable Chapter 1 battle theme everywhere. I kinda like the cheery music in battles during replays or certain sections such as the pit but I also like the new rendition. But if I want that cheerful music, I have to listen to the old rendition. (Which I love too but it's so dang tiny.)
Despite having an amazing remixed soundtrack, I feel they learned a lot from the Color Splash soundtrack. I know it ain’t the best Paper Mario game, but I think Color Splash had the best soundtrack out of all the Paper Mario series.
Personally, I prefer the Origami King soundtrack. I think that THAT'S the best soundtrack of the series. Though I'd also agree that Color Splash's soundtrack is phenomenal nevertheless!
I think it's a little hard for me to properly rank them, since I adored every one and thought they each suited the chapter exceptionally well, which is my main thought process when considering music... this order is subject to shift, but anyway: 9 - Chapter 6 8 - Chapter 3 7 - Chapter 1 6 - Chapter 2 5 - Chapter 4 4 - Moon 3 - Chapter 5 2 - Chapter 7 1 - Extra (Various here) I'm kinda neutral on Chapter 6's, but purely positive for all the rest

Totally valid opinion! Taste in music is different across the board! For me it would be 9 = Chapter 5, not bad at all. Still a 10/10. It has the perfect vibe for the area but still is my least favorite theme. 8 = Chapter 4, Fits perfectly to the steeple. Just sound a bit boring to me in comparison to the other ones. 7 = Various, Good battle theme for ecetera 6 = Chapter 7, Really feels like it's cold and freezing! Beautiful tone to it as well! 5 = Chapter 2, It sound so pleasing. I can't really describe it but it fits perfect. 4 = Chapter 3, Those trumpets and synth-fills. GOD DAMN the rock and feeling to this one. Amazing. 3 = Moon , I just LOVE this techno-y vibe. They went CRAZY with this one. 2 = Chapter 1, Classic but gold. They really did the BEST possible for this one! 1 = Chapter 6, I just can't say anything else. I'm ALL IN for the jazz!

1. Chapter 7’s Snow Theme
2. Chapter 5’s Jungle Theme
3. Chapter 6’s Jazz Theme
4. Chapter 2’s Guitar Theme
The Moon , Chapter 7 , Chapter 4 , Chapter 5 are definitely my favourite battle themes
ESPECIALLY THE MOON BY FAR MY FAVOURITE OF THEM ALL
I've never played original Gamecube version (on account of never owning a Gamecube) so this remake was my first proper experience of TTYD (barring speedruns and challenge runs but like. cmon. those skip all of the plot)
and so far my most favorite little embellishment this game has is the intro to combat theme differs whether or not you've got a first strike, encountered enemy normally, or *was* first-struck by enemy (with the latter being a minor keey version of that intro). absolutely love a little detail like this.
Yeah that's SO COOL. You rrally can feel the "First-Attack = Good" and "Enemy Attack = Bad" thing directly JUMPING into those awesome battle themes.
Just amazing
Real. Caught that today and went "oh my god they even added that????" They absolutely cooked with this remake
Chapter 1: "You're as beautiful as the day I lost you"
Chapter 2: Typical Mario Forest
Chapter 3: POV: Electric Guitar Gaming OST Moment
Chapter 4: This is just from Origami king prove me wrong
Chapter 5: 🐵
Chapter 6: Moonshine Mob is that you?
Chapter 7: 😃
Other Theme: 😠
Moon: *BEAT SUDDENLY DROPS HARD
Thx for making this, its been a while since I could listen to a fully clean ttyd remake battle soundtrack
The soundtrack is just AWESOME!!
The only thing Chapter 6 is missing to make it fully Moonshine Mob is the scatting.
chapter 3 gives me mk8 big blue vibes why? electric guitar and sax duo
Chapter 8: Palace of Shadow theme all the way.
Bro, other theme is goated
6 for sure! It is more big band and sleuth-y to fit the chapter well~
Good choice. Chapter 6 is up there with Chapter 1 and Moon for me!
They fit their environment perfectly!
They did such an amazing job!
I was so stunned the first time I heard them
Chapter 6 had my favorite mix, especially the fanfare, Bowser's theme park from 3d world anyone?
So sad that the best battle theme had the least battles with it
Chapter 6 hits so damn hard and you only get to hear it so few times in the game 😭
I wish in the post game you could have a theme randomizer where you could select which battle themes you want to play and it randomly selects per battle, similar to what you can do in Smash.
Yeah it really sucks that it really only plays during the stop at the middle train station.
It's an awesome theme nevertheless...
Just shows how much they committed and cared for this remake!
I love they made the same of Origami King, one theme but lets change it depending of the area
Yeah, it's so cool.
Now they just HAVE to keep this idea for the next Paper Mario games!
Funny what one can do with the same notes, but with different musical themes.
WE MAKING IT OUTTA ROGUEPORT WITH THIS MEDLEY!!!
Let's get the Hype out there!!!
THESE REMAKES ARE DOPE 🗣
I love Chapter 1 battle which I can hum along with┌(・。・)┘♪. But the others version I can't really feel.
Chapter 7 is unreal. So good
So what if we have Mario on the moon fighting enemies who are looking for an ancient demon, but there's super-heavy techno music?
'Would make a great story and and AWESOME OST
Reminds me of the Orgin Dialga and Palkia fight from Legends Arceus.
Battling primal forces and incarnation of time and space... but with techno.
i love these so much
i hope we get a paper mario 64 remake with battle music remixes... or a fan made songs. id love to hear chapter 4 and 3 from paper mario 64 battle themes
I'd be ALL in for it!
I loved the original paper Mario 64 as much as I love ttyd and I would love a remake for paper Mario 64 too
I remember there was someone who was making PM64 battle remixes. They did chapter 1, 2, forever forest and gusty gulch.

S-Tier: CH.07, CH.02, CH.06
A-Tier: Various, CH.01
B-Tier: Moon, CH.03
C-Tier: CH.04
D-Tier: CH.05
The 07 one is seriously insanely good. It feels more like a traditional JRPG battle theme pacing and melody-wise all while keeping some of that Paper Mario charm. And the leading synth for real sounds super similar to some of the Bravely Default 2 battle theme synths.
Your tier list is exactly SPOT ON 💯💯💯💯
I agree for the most part but I think Ch4’s deserves a tier or 2 higher
I want to agree but 5's is so good 🥺
I'd put chapter 4 higher but otherwise this is a fantastic list.

That's why I think that their opinion actually matters A LOT.
I do appreciate how much they put so much into the music for the battle theme
Yes! And quite literally everything else!
The sewers with two new layers to them. Same with the X-Naut Fortress...
If you didn't even know about them: Definitely check out the Medleys in the description
the whole soundtrack is 99% better than the original and the fact they gave every major boss and chapter a unique battle theme made the game a million times better. My only issue is that it isn't 60fps like the original and the train theme doesn't have the filter from the original's song
the whole soundtrack is awful. they took something perfect and made it try-hard af. somehow distilled all of the soul
Wow okay. Unpopular, but valid opinion. I still wouldn't call it awful in ANY possible way.

Let me know in the comments below!
Did the same music team from modern paper Mario make this music??
I like the Chapter 1 Castle theme, Chapter 3 electric theme, Chapter 6 Jazz, and Chapter 7 Snow theme,
You forgot the Pit of 100 trial battle theme
@@matthewisguy7336 The composer for Paper Mario 64 and the one for TTYD made this one here
@mirumultigaming if I'm correct, the pit of 100 trials battle theme is the same as hooktail's castle battle theme.
Chapter 1 is a classic return to form
Chapter 2 always sounded like the horns were the punies singing along, which I always appreciated
Chapter 3 really gets rock and electric, really fitting the BATTLE TO THE DEATH vibes of that chapter
Chapter 4 has some classic horror elements (That ine Oooooeeeeeoooooo instrument) and feels like it could be an intense battle is an old abandoned manor
Chapter 5 sounds like youre deep in a jungle fighting wild animals
Chapter 6 has such a fun swing rhythm, and a jazzy feel, which im not sure if it fits the vibe of an old post which feels kinda western, but holy hell it goes hard AF. Cuphead type shit here
Chapter 7 sounds very icy, with the shorter notes and the chimes, it really sucks that this theme goes so hard but isnt heard cuz theres like, 2 enemy variants to fight
The other themes, if i remember its in rhe Pit of 100 Trials, tho correct me if im wrong, but im pretty sure it is. Because i remember being like, "Yknoe the pit seems like a fun challenge maybe ill beat it" like right after beating chapter 4. Yea. The secret boss gave me a run for my money but damn I loved it regardless lmao
The moon def fits the techy vide that the Xnauts have. It honestly gives off Super Paper Mario vibes, which is really awesome tho probably not intended
Great game, would buy again to have Nintendo make another Paper Mario game like this
Well done analysis!!
Chapter 3's Battle to Death Vibes are just SO PERFECTLY fitting!
Yeah I think you're onto something right there...
I can't really tell myself but I totally get the vibes
Yep actually, It's completely based on the classic overworld theme. Try listening to it closely
I really want someone to put together a medley like this for 64's battle theme!
But 64 only had one battle theme 🤔
At least in regards to normal battle themes.
@luccatime I meant that I'd love for someone to come up with arrangements for 64's battle theme to fit each chapter. That is, unless we get an actual remake on the next console...
@@alexeidarling Oh got you!
That would be AWESOME!!!
Wait till 6 years for them to remaster the first Paper Mario.
I was already hooked with chapter 1's remix (good stuff) , then chapter 5 uses one of my favorite note arrangements (great stuff) only to then chapter 6's arrangement (ASCENSION! 💫)
Chapters 1 and 6, as well as the Moon version. Those are my favorites.
I totally agree!
Especially with Chapter 1 and the Moon version.
The Remix is just great and the Moon version sounds so fitting!!
Great choice!
I like those ones too.
I like those ones as well.
9. Chapter 7: It feels more dreamy than any other one and I feel split between this one. On one hand it sounds really good, but it doesn't really stick with me.
8. Chapter 3: More on the rock side, and while it fits the Glitzpit
It's really jazzy(?) and fits the theming of Chapter 6 perfectly
The person who created the moon theme should definitely get a raise!!
It's so special and I'm all in for it!!!

Chapter 4 and the Moon are my favorites
I lvoe how spooky Chapter 4 was, but the moon drops some beats man
I like chapter 6 and the Moon version.
For me:
I think they will or they wouldn't even mind to give us this remake in the first place
I definitely hope that they do!!!
It’s impossible to have a favorite, all 10/10 songs
Yeah it's quite hard. Though I see that people are mostly agreeing on 6, 2 and Moon to be up there

2: Nice forest one to listen to, and fits the area, but probably the least memorable of the bunch
3: Perfect for an arena, though the progression throws me off every time
4: Spooky, perfect for the situation at hand
5: Never thought I'd like the jungle variation this much but holy damn
6: I was NOT ready for it to be this jazzy HELLO. Strongest first impression
7: Feels mysterious, wish it played longer in game
Various: Kinda reminds me of Origami King ngl. Unsure if Hooktail Castle was the best place for it but the Pit was a good call
Moon: Damn I want an X-naut as a DJ at a party cause this is peak
Chapter 7 , 5 and 4 are definitely my favourite battle themes
Chapter 6 Slaps on another level
All of them do!
For me: Chapter 1 is my favorite I'd say
While I prefer Origami King’s battle music for being more distinct and memorable, this is such an AWESOME and CREATIVE way to do a remake’s music!
It’s like the original TTYD battle theme is so memorable and ingrained that the new variants can take wild liberties and still be recognizable. They’re so weird and chaotic and chopped up, but the general melody of the original keeps it bound and just cohesive enough! So cool!
I love that origami king s design elements inspired the ttyd remake
Honestly, I couldn’t remember OK’s music at all, even a couple hours after playing it, but TTYD’s music has been stuck in my head all week lol
@@jackatki think you played origami king wrong then lol
They took the concept from The Origami King and made it even better, because the variety in areas in TTYD is way greater than that of TOK, so the way they rearranged everything to fit the vibe is absolutely gorgeous.

It was so AWESOME to have this theme playing in the Pit. Was a totally different vibe compared to the original!
@@Lucca_Time yeah it Made going thru the pit a ton more badass, and gave the stronger enemies a chance to shine.
Also 1:38 sounds super nice
Yeah it transitions perfectly!
Is it weird for me to say that this remake feels like a combination of parts of the original ttyd(overall game), with parts of origami king(music and graphics)?
I TOTALLY get that!
That's just true.
And I'm ALL IN for it!
I LOVE IT so much
I love it, too.

@pixeldoom9298 yeah. Even back then in PM64, the final battle theme has guitars that sound like AW guitars.
I think it's a little hard for me to properly rank them, since I adored every one and thought they each suited the chapter exceptionally well, which is my main thought process when considering music... this order is subject to shift, but anyway:

Dude my literal childhood i was 8 when the original one was out
If you want me to play RPGs with the music on the whole time, I’m more likely to do so when you have more than one battle theme for regular battles, and this is an awesome example.
I know I might have some different opinions with my order, but hey everyone has different tastes in music :
9 = chapter 5, i don't like the melody, too many modifications to it
8 = chapter 3, same as Ch5 but a little better
7 = moon, not a fan of this style of music (idk how to explain, it's mid-tier for me)
6 = chapter 1, the og, can't go wrong with it
5 = chapter 6, the jazz is nice, starting to get on the better half
4 = chapter 2, no comments, it's just very good
3 = chapter 4, sounds a bit underwhelming at first but it quickly catches up (especially that harpsichord part) and I really like the use of minor chord
2 = chapter 7, it just magical and really sounds like an endgame ost
Top 1 = special/various (hooktail's castle + pit of 100 trials), the first time I heard it I knew nothing could beat it, I just love the use of minor chords what else can I say... also the part at 11:26 is just perfection (I loved color splash so much, and the motif just fits so well), also when you get to the deeper floors of the pit you feel the tension in this theme
Totally valid opinion!
Taste in music is different across the board!
For me it would be
9 = Chapter 5, not bad at all. Still a 10/10. It has the perfect vibe for the area but still is my least favorite theme.
8 = Chapter 4, Fits perfectly to the steeple. Just sound a bit boring to me in comparison to the other ones.
7 = Various, Good battle theme for ecetera
6 = Chapter 7, Really feels like it's cold and freezing!
A love the gritzville theme
one thing people collectively agree on. modern paper mario never misses their beats
100%. Extreme Heavy boss themes for a freakin PAPER game and jazzy music all the way
Chapter 7 is my favourite
I loved all of these but the Moon battle is the best for me
Techno-ish all the way!

Anyone know what this one is called?
There is no name for it.
"Etc" would be the best name though.
It plays in Hooktails Castle and the Pit of 100 Trials
@@Lucca_Time I think ingame it's labeled Extra? It also plays in Poshley Sanctum and the Palace of Shadow Tower
Chapter 5 is giving DK Joined the party and im here for it!😊
Something like that would be REALLY cool for a future game!
But I agree, it really does give this kind of vibr!
JESUS CHAPTER 6 GOES SO HARD
Truer words never've been spoken 🗣
