- You can save the Tieflings & recruit Minthara with the tricky sheep glitch explained here. You can have Minthara, Halsin, Wyll, & Karlach as act 2 companions & all the Tieflings can be saved if you follow all our steps in this video. This method has two parts and relies on game mechanics and glitches that works after patch 3 and hotfix 9 in October 2023. It works on PC and PS5. You can complete the Hellion Heart quest with Dammon in the Last Light Inn and romance Karlach while having Minthara as a companion with this glitch.
1:01 Part 1: Knock out Minthara first without talking to her. Before long resting, kill the other two Goblin leaders. ORDER matters. This is a glitch. The grove and tieflings will be saved and Halsin will join your camp. Recruit both Wyll and Karlach (if you want) before the Goblin camp leader assault.
After the long rest, Minthara should be alive, mute, and neutral where you knocked her out.
5:04 Part 2: Play the game as you wish. DO NOT enter the Shadowfell & find the Nightsong at the bottom of the Gauntlet of Shar. Reach level 7 to unlock the level 4 druid spell dominate beast used to fast travel Minthara.
7:14 2a. Make sure you can walk freely into Moonrise Towers. Open the absolute (throne room) door without triggering the Ketheric Thorm cut scene.
8:40 2b. Recruit or respec a lvl 7 plus Sorcerer with Metamagic: Extend Spell and polymorph for a 10 turn polymorph spell
10:07 2c. Recruit or respec a level 7 plus druid to cast dominate beast after Minthara is turned into a sheep by the sorcerer
10:50 Buff you characters with longstrider and extended leap. Have many ways to cast dimension door. Save one dimension door for the final move in front of Ketheric Thorm. Use turned based mode to avoid polymorph expiring. Dominated sheep Minthara can fast travel to Moonrise Towers by quickly turning turn-based mode off and on once arrived. High strength character can use improvised weapon melee (upside down chair) and cancelling it (left click & right click) to move Minthara the sheep to the throne room. Save frequently. Potions of hill giant strength can be used to have all four companions to move her with improvised melee weapon method.
15:27 Once Minthara the sheep is being judged send 1 to 3 characters to help Minthara in the torture room with the gnomes. Be in turn-based mode. When the sheep is in the torture room, use arcane lock to lock the door. Turn off turn based mode to have her become drow. Turn it on before the lock expires, and enter a dialog with a gnome. Minthara should be tortured in the cut scene. Win three dialog checks and use all available characters to buff the character in the dialog (guidance, eagle's splendor, luck et cetra). Switch to the character in the throne room to complete that cut scene and join the party downstairs in the dungeon. You want Minthara to be sentenced to death by Kethrick Thorm so saying nothing works. The fate of the goblins does not matter. Have Minthara play dumb and walk out of Moonrise Towers. Have Minthara fast travel to the Moonrise Towers waypoint and have her join your camp. Congratulations! Minthara is your companion.

who refined this method adding the sorcerer. He also suggested having 2 sorcerers for extending dimension door in addition to polymorph.
Instead or using arcane lock to keep Minthara from fleeing the torture chamber others have suggested using one magic missile charge to cause Minthara to not flee and transform into a drow. I think Arcane Lock works better.

Players having to exploit the game in order to get an ending/outcome they like has always been such an amazing show of ingenuity and determination.
With 600 spells, so much unique gear, and so many mechanics, there are so many things possible.
I will say I never exploited the game to get Minthara, Just leave her there knocked out, never teleport between Acts to former acts.
Sadly Larion has patched a couple of the exploits like getting Wyll’s inferno robe with killing and then reviving Karlach.
It still works, some "repentance arc" for Minthara should be canon asap, even my Karlach did approve freeing and helping Minthara so it may be planned in the future.
Nah Karlach can be fooled many ways.
Worked for me. First play through on tactician and I have everyone with me. Thanks for this. I worked had to get all done over the weekend. This video was perfect.

Still works after Patch 5.
Not sure why, but the “normal” method doesn’t work for me. (In patch 5 notes they say Minthara will just show up in moonrise if you knock her out. But I followed the instructions TO THE LETTER and she doesn’t show up).
So I did the SheepThara Heist. Bc she was still alive in the goblin camp, just not spawning in the throne room for some reason.
Anyway I saved her ass. But the AI is even more bugged than usual. She’s not functioning the way she should be. She’s not entering combat when she should be. She’s speaking about events that haven’t happened yet or didn’t happen in the past. And her spells and attacks are kind of wonky but still kind of work.
Anyway glad to have her on the team. Even if it is awkward that she’s constantly 2 feet away from Halsin at all times.
It's genius! I almost did this trick by myself - I saved neutral minthara, but i didn't know that i can transfer her into towers as a sheep and it will execute cutscene. I don't think they will fix it, because this trick is extra rare and hard for common player. It will be way for each my future game :)

Still works as of patch 1.4 , heavy emphasis on extended polymorph because switching regions took up 7 turns. Otherwise, thanks for the guide!
I tried it today I had knocked her out, then finished the goblin camp had the tiefling party rested and went back and just her bag and lyre were there on the ground. I tried it multiple times and everytime she was gone. Not sure if it was something I did wrong or if it truly has been patched in a hotfix.
I Followed this guide and it worked. took quite a few hours but i got it all working.
i dont have the stomach for an evil playthough so i did this method.

Took me 4 attempts to hit the glitch now I can hit it every time without fail providing dominate beast doesn't take 4 quick loads to work at 25% chance I also went back to the auto save when i started the glitch and hit it again to make sure i could hit it in future playthroughs
:heres what I did
1. Polymorph Minthara to sheep in her glitched state
2.Dominate beast while she's a sheep
3. Fast travel to moonrise
4. I had 15 dimension door scrolls from merchant resetting with my normal party and the wizard using normal dimension door, it took 3 scrolls for me to get her to the boss room from the fast travel point
5. kept passing turn till the polymorph timer hit 1 turn
6. sent the 3 hirelings down to the dungeon, put the druid in the room then turned on turn base mode and locked the door
7. sent minthara down in the cutscene as soon as kethric said "send her below" I switched to the druid
Minthara was a drow instantly, and wasn't moving due to turn base mode
8. spoke to the torturer went through all dialogues
9. concluded dialouge on my sorcadin with the goblins
10. had my sorcadin fast travel to moonrise towers waypoint
11. had my 3 hirelings walk to the way point
12. had minthara fast travel to the way point which immediately lead to the cutscene where she asked about camp
was a good explination in the video, just wanted to do a written format for people to, hope it helps

@@yannick512 saves me having to respec my characters back when I'm done also because hirelings are used in the video and I wished to do it exactly as the video is done with the exception of waiting at the door that's my own spin (step 5)
Just posting in case anyone was wondering. I was having trouble with the part where she gets brought down to the torture area where she wouldn’t flip out and run. So I used grease bottles to get her stuck and did the “play along as a thrall” route.
Managed to get her and she’s now sharing a tent with Halsin 😂
That was what the locking the door was for. Glad you found a solution to the problem.
@@LinusWilson Somehow she slipped into crevices again and again and makes the thing complete with her going her own way. The grease gets her stuck so she'll chill out and not freak being unchanged
While she is in the throne room and you move your other characters to the torture chamber, you can have them enter turn based mode. This will freeze minthara’s sheep form. Swap back to the throne room character and zip through the dialogue and make your way downstairs. Now everyone is downstairs with minthara, and you should have turns left on her sheep form. I exited turn based and did a quick rest to restore spell slots. This allowed my gale to lock the door. Easy Peasy.
Okay I just did it, very important don't initiate dialogue combat. Manually attack her.
To save on potions you could always use the club of hill giant strength on the druid or whoever

I used another tutorial and it kept bugging on me! I couldn't get the torturers' to start the dialog, and then your video came up next and it was like Angels started singing to me! I got her in my camp just now! Thank you so much for this tutorial! It helped me so much!

Well as of 11/08/2023 this still works, I use party limit begone mod. I cleared the all the Act 1 including the Underdark, Creshe, Act 2 Harper patrol rescue, Toll House, Drider Escort (used dialogue for lantern then killed them outside Moonrise) and got level 8 before rescuing Halsin and telling him all the leaders were dead. Minthara was already knocked out and I did the long rest so she was glitched.
I reclassed Shadowheart into a level 8 Nature Cleric for the dominate beast spell.
After polymorphing her using Will into a sheep it took a few reloads for dominate beast to hit.
Remember to be set to turn base and cycle through or click on sheepthara then fast travel to Moonrise portal. Save or buy at least 4 Dimension Door scrolls to get from the portal to Thorms Judgement hall.
The tricky part is getting one character with the right attack and a invisible potion down to the torture room and cycling through the dialogue until Minthara appears there. On PC it really doesn’t want to remain in turn base mode so it took a few attempts until I got Minthara locked and could hit her to cause aggro.
Remember to save a lot during this process

I followed these instructions to a tee, and as soon as she ends the chat with the 2 guards she runs around the room at super-sonic speed and then disappears.. the quest logs say "We helped Minthara escape Moonrise Towers. She's elected to go her own way."
edit: Fixed this by using grease spell on her while in disguise making her hostile, then going invisible and talking to her after combat ended and changing from the disguise.
I told you to lock the door and initiate dialog with the gnomes. You obviously did not do that.
Best guide I've seen on this. Did this last night on PS5 and worked easily. Only reloaded for 1-2 speech checks and torture area. Didn't have arcane lock but hitting sheep Minthara with MM, ending turn base mode and immediately talking to a guard triggered the cut scene. FYI I killed Priestess Gut before knocking out Minthara. Thanks man

Worked like a charm. When Minthara joined my group, tho, she spawned standing in the middle of nowhere in the void of the map. I made her fast travel to the Moonrise Towers and then made the rest of my group join her there... and it worked! Thanks for this updated strat. I also have Halsin in camp and the Tieflings moved on to Act 2. GAMING!

im gonna try this. I knocked out the goblin leaders when I fought them, so minmin is still standing there I have checked. I just need to get some hirelings since I just hit lvl seven.

I didn't have enough dimension door spells, so I just pushed sheepthara into the room and then throw her near Katheric. I used a Potion of speed and a Potion of hill giant strength. Working after patch 4. Nice.

How did u transported her to Moonrise? She seems to disappear when I fast travel, even if she is in my hands as an improvised weapon.
@@lehelkiss3919 You have to select the sheep like it was just another character of the party and fast travel. I had the same problem a couple times before it worked.
Forgot to add that it's important to enable turn-based mode as fast as you can when you fast travel to Moonrise.
I can't figure out why this isn't working for me 😢 I can't pick her up in sheep form when I do dimension door, improved weapon, and throw. It keeps saying "Target cannot be forced to move". Seems like I'm the only one getting this.

I did the sheeptara heist 2 weeks ago thanks to your video but now, with Patch 5, she is bugged af ! Is there any way to save the game save?
She will speak to no one, she will not enter most of the combats, she can just attack x100 and kill anyone without entering combat, she still disapproves and approves choices, but no dialogue means no romance.. HELP PLEASE 😭
my favorite part of this game is exploits are a game feature not a bug but with social media everyone can make the same genius moves if its forever on youtube. i have a couple exploits i dont want to share. i want it for me!!!!
This is great for mac players that struggle with mods. That said, I'd rather use a mod if I'm going to do all this.
Mods are no fun. The joy is in the doing not the having. Besides mods don’t work on PS5 and often mess up saves with updates.

maybe if jumping is a keay movement feature respec a monk with 18 strength or a strength potion to carry minthara as a monk is games longest distance runner and longest jumper a monk can jump farther than dimension door spell hahahaha maybe that instance where a withers hireling may be of good use
Long strider and extended leap should be sufficient. 4th character is better a 2nd sorcerer with dimension door and extended magic.
@@LinusWilson your way works but you need to have many characters but with a monk do it solo with potions and scrolls as the movement of a monk can be simply 2 bonus actions freeing up a action slot im convinced a monk is more efficient
When I broke Minthara out of Jail, the whole moonrise challenged me, tried to run but near the gate I realized I can wipe them.
So I did.

@LinusWilson if you knock the vendors out with non lethal attacks, you can loot their entire store inventory, then kill them. pro tip, send all the loot to your camp as it can be quite heavy.
Use an invisibility potion on her and walk out of Moonrise.

@LinusWilson worked on multiple vendors for me. the hobgoblin in moonrise had hundreds of items i sold him. Ronah Moonglow had all the inventory in act 3 that she had in act 2 plus 3k in gold. You have to loot them while knocked out, not after they die. Also works on the Shar agent in Rivington.
Me sweating at 3 AM with 2 goblin leaders dead body's at camp (too much metal gear solid), Saved Sazza up to the point of Minthara exececution to notify about the grove while trynna weasel halsin , awhile finding out in another Act 1 only trial, and sneaked into under dark geared up a lol, summoned the flask to summon ya know Chuthulu while all the druids tried to fight it I killed majority of them, 1 survivor but perhaphs just wipe out kagha rq in the grove after wrapping up top up then sending the grove coordinates to minthara. May Mayhem insue.
Ok you are gonna lose Halsin, Wyll and Karlach. GL. Perhaps you should watch my romancing Min video first since you are not into this one.
I MANAGED A NEW, EASIER METHOD! (the world needs to know)
I did the same trick knocking Minthara out first thing in the goblin camp (after all small quests are done) BUT, I also knocked out SAZZA! Then, I killed the third leader Gut and the rest of the goblins, went and saved Halsin, made sure Minthara was still "knocked Out (Temporary)". I then went to the Grove and had the night party before GOING BACK TO SAZZA, and by talking with Sazza and it BROUGHT MINTHARAS DIALOG BACK for raiding the grove! Agree to help, and she should run to the front of the camp with a closed dialog loop! At this point, I went to Moonrise Towers, and MINTHATA WAS ALIVE and had normal dialog!
THAT MEANS NO PEKY SHEEP!!! This allows you to fully complete both quests (minus the raids themselves)
Hey! Just a heads up that Patch #4 hit today and saw this in the notes that may require some testing in regards to this method: If you polymorph, charm, paralyse, or dominate NPCs who are waiting around for you to approach or interact with them, they'll now consider this a hostile action.
This might prevent this method from functioning now unfortunately. =S
EDIT: Confirmed below that strat is still functional.
I doubt it. It does not matter if the sheep is hostile while dominated.
@@LinusWilson The point being is that if you turn Minthara hostile before it becomes a sheep (which this implies) it might preclude the ability to then continue the quest chain for recruitment due to her hostile attitude towards you. I'm unsure of course but I figured I'd bring it to your attention.
@@LinusWilson I'm trying to articulate the nuance correctly: The entire principle of this strategy is predicated on the fact that it is the sheep and not Minthara that is hostile towards you. I understand that "Sheepthara" can be hostile, but if Minthara goes hostile before even having been turned into a sheep that defeats the entire purpose of turning her into a sheep in the first place.

EDIT: Does Dominate count as charmed and that is the reason because of Elf/Drow status?
Unfortunately, it appears that patch 4 of the game closed down this exploit. I was able to dimension door sheepthara into the right position (after so many attempts), & was able to get her down to the interrogation chamber. However, even when I struck her with minimal damage, & talked my way out of the assault charge, the interrogators simply wouldn't begin to torture her, & she just stood there. Moreover, as soon as the audience hall dialogue ends w/ the general & I decided the goblins' fate, Minthara simply runs away & disappears, she is able to disappear EVEN after I casted arcane lock on the interrogation room door. I then got a quest completion notification saying "we helped Minthara escape Moonrise towers but she decided to go her own way". How disappointing after spending all these resources... I wish Larian would let us just have this one & reward us for player ingenuity, but apparently no such luck.
Hmm. You need to talk to the nomes not minthara as explained in the video.
@@LinusWilson Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, I tried talking to both the interrogators & Minthara to no avail. I tried talking to the interrogators both before & after assaulting Minthara. The interrogators were walking around in the room, not actively torturing Minthara. When I spoke to both of them, they simply gave their typical 1-liner dialogue, then automatically ended the conversation. Other ideas/tips are always welcome if you/anyone have more ideas.
I checked it after patch 4. You definitely can recruit Min. Use arcane lock (and turn based mode) before Min is sent to the dungeon. When she is sent down switch back to the 3 companions in the room with Min the sheep. Turn off turn based until Min turns human. Turn on turn based mode. Then talk to the gnomes torturing her. An MBA like you should have been able to figure that one out without my help.
Only reason I was willing to try this is because of Dammon. Karlach 's quest still goes to shit, Wyll can tell Boooaal i said hello but if I have to go through all this when some players said it took almost hrs and they still messed up when they thought they had it or Min just runs into the Moonrise Guards/Shadow- curse or through an arcane locked door, I'm either nuking the Grove and taking the L on all the Teiflings, Wyll, Kar and Halsin (really a none issue for me because I've NEVER used him outside of his PQ)+ Act 2/3 equipment or Minthara will continue to be apart of my camp ...as a corpse...on display. Patch 5 really needs to have this sorted out.

I'm getting her following me up to the gates of moonrise after her trial, then she runs off before I can stop her. Has anyone figured out how to get past this?

It says Sheep Minthara “can’t be restrained” when I try to pic her up. Everything up until til that point works fine.
You are doing the wrong action. Dimension door her. Drink a potion of giant strength.
@@LinusWilson I did both. Neither work. It still says she’s restrained. Before the potion it says she’s too heavy. After potion it says target cannot be restrained. Dimension door also says she can’t be restrained.
Could you potentially toss minthara while she is a sheep if you cast sanctuary on her first that way she shouldn't take any damage when thrown?
You could try it. I don’t think accidentally throwing her is the hardest part. It takes a 3rd spell caster concentrating. I think dimension door gets you most of the way. The sorcerer can refresh his lvl 4 spell slot with points to do a dimension door if you are low on scrolls.
@@LinusWilson Technically, Sanctuary makes you untargetable. Like AOE attacks, falling (throwing) damage should still be there and probably break the sheep spell.
At least my fireballs still hit the guy in sanctuary when i blast the ground next to him.
I used the Otiluke’s Resilient Sphere. This gave me three turns of melee dragging followed by a throw. That got me close enough to the throne room door that I could use my remaining dimension door to put her in front of ketheric. Easy Peasy
Is it stil possible i knocked her out after i beat the others but the body just disepears after a long rest now
The order in which you attack the Goblin leaders matters. This is discussed in the video.
Take out all the war drums in the camp

I tried for over three hours and it just doesn't work anymore. No matter what I do she either fades away, or she's standing in the interrogation room after the battle and can't do anything, or the quest is complete and she escapes. The video is no longer good.
You can’t have killed the interrogators prior. Lock the door before she appears. Be in turn based mode then talk to the interrogators. Watch the video more carefully.

okay.... I recruited Minthara, Helsin, Jaherra, and Minsk, easy peasy. That was 4 days ago BTW, so yeah save the boy you get Helsin bc he promises to help the Urge get well in the head (Yep! I played the Urge and recruited all the NCP companions bc I was on vengeance mode for what they did to me) I had them all eating out of my hands even the Nightsong and Kethrics daughter! I did the impossible
did they fix this? i tried this multiple times. knocked her out, checked with 1 hp, killed the other 2, went back haslin and let him know. after long rest, went back to goblin camp to check her and its a puddle of blood everytime.

Am I supposed to knock minthara out, kill the goblin leaders, resque halsin, long rest and complete the quest with zevlor, then lvl from 4 to 7 and come back to attempt this?
You don’t have to be lvl 4 when you start. You could knock out Min at any lvl.

@@aidindavani3049 yes. There will be a large gap of gameplay in most cases after “killing” the Goblin leaders and hitting lvl 7 and turning Min into a sheep. Watch the whole video on warnings on what to avoid doing in that large gameplay time.
How do you do the throw-cancel part on PS5?
It can be done, but I have not done it.

Click on the sheep on the left. Then fast travel. I mentioned that in the video.

if you are finding yourself where you progressed the game like companions not wanting to go back to act 1 or act 1 missions are unfinishable its because you initiated dialogue what are milestones of progression and makes quick saves you need to get around this!!!! if you still have act 1 unfinished business
Watch the whole video. I warn you about what you can do and must avoid. Halsin and Min cannot go out of the shadow cursed lands until you finish act 2.
@@LinusWilson you say that but there is another video on how to do this to return to act 1 that requires you to avoid most act 2 interactions especially ones that progress story and saves.... but with the new patch saying theres more save may make this impossible now
@@paratrooperz1I know what you're asking. I left the Cresh quest un finished. That allowed me to hop between act 1 and 2.

@@LinusWilsonawesome I just started my second playtrough y definitely will do this but just wondering can you progress normally before going to the goblin camp meaning recruit will karlach tell the tieflings to stay at the grove and all that or is there certain things to not do for this to work

If you have a save with all them in your party patches won’t matter
doesn't work anymore, when you travel to moonrise dominate beast breaks, and when you successfully recast it at the moonrise waypoint, dominate beast instant breaks
The use of turn-based mode is essential. Watch the whole video carefully. You should only cast it once and the dominate chance is low. Thus save scumming may be necessary.
Yeah I thought this as well, but needed to select Minthara as the person doing the turns, didn't see that part in the video.

You deleted my comment saying my method was "patched" yet I did a fresh playthrough to see if I could still recruit Halsin by triggering Rite of Thorns (Despite me having done this literally just a few days ago) and sure enough... He went straight to my camp just like before. If I ignore the Goblin leadership from this point forward I can pretty well guarantee that Minthara will be reporting to Ketheric Thorm as expected where she can then be recruited...
Obviously, you did not verify the minthara part recently. It is not as simple as go do this. There are many ways you can waste the time of ppl who listen to you if you don’t check and are not precise about exactly how a path was achieved. Thanks for the tip.
If only this allowed you to progress minthara romance too
You might be able to romance her in act 2 or 3, just not in act 1.

In BG3 I don't think the good side is very attractive. Tief and druids are lame, as Haslin, Wyll and Karlach. They mostly suck. Wyll patron is great as Minthara, so I just sided evil.
Karlach is good and you get Mizora as a camp follower only if Wyll is around. See my other minthara and halsin videos about how to get wyll, Karlach and Min without glitches.
