Fun fact:) Josh has actually talked alot about this particular show before, it is looked at here in Norway as kind of "legendary", and the people who was there is beeing looked at as super lucky by other QOTSA fans
Hey, I'm one of those that think Era Vulgaris is one of their best effort, pure modern garage sound; most certainly my favourite from 2007 anyway (and I sure love Radiohead)
I love it too. And to be honest: when it came out I was like "hmm interesting, but ...doesn't appeal to me that much". I think it took me almost 1.5-2 years to get into it but ever since it's fcking amazing. It's so rough, rusty and edgy, the grooves are from another planet and it's full of energy. It's personal but any day I prefer it over their last two records.
So good to see Joey playing with them; nothing wrong with John but Castillo was just a monster when he played (even if his timing did drift a bit now and again.)
Josh é o único que vi manter sua voz fiel até nos tempos de hoje... QOTSA se tornou uma das bandas que considero hoje a melhor de todas! VIDA LONGA AOS QUEENS!
Dave Grohl has done a majority of the albums and now they have one of the best drummers in the world. Castillo is good but there is a reason he isn’t around anymore.
@@cvblaylock although Castillo did one more album than Grohl, toured with EODM and did some Desert Sessions, and he's not anymore in qotsa cause he left when the band changed their music direction 🤔
I love Joey but he’s the worst of their 3 multiple album drummers, both Dave and Jon are far superior live drummers, Jon is the most technically skilled of the 3 too his work in the Mars Volta is crazier than anything Dave or Joey have done. Love studio Joey tho but his often rushing live drove me crazy. All of them are quality drummers tho, Joey definitely isn’t the best tho
Maybe the best live show of all time! They sound like perfection. Love and Respect to this beautiful town for knowing how to love QOTSA in 2007🩷 Thanks for sharing 🩵
I don’t really miss him rushing songs lol, enjoyed his studio work way more than his live work. Jon is a way better drummer tho even if he doesn’t have quite the same amount of energy as Joey
@@puppetmaster8551are you kidding me? Joey was the best drummer they had. Their drummer now doesn’t have the power of Joey and Grohl who made the sound what it was, they need hard hitting drums to be their best
@@Gcssdvnkloiutesc no he isn’t lol, especially not live where he couldn’t keep tempo, beating you drums doesn’t automatically make you the best dude. Jon is a significantly better drummer than Joey and can easily do anything Joey ever could, he’s their most skilled drummer even ahead of Dave. Joey was better on record than he was live as well.
@@puppetmaster8551 who else hired John? Joey has also been hired for Black Label Society and Danzig, along with Queens, Danzig during the height of their popularity when glen could of hired any rock drummer he wanted too. If Josh also hired Joey after in his own words auditioning hundreds of drummers, there must be something to it if great musicians keep hiring him for their band and drums are the most important instrument for any band’s sound. You remind me of guitar critics that arbitrarily measure guitarists based on speed and precision. As if it were a sport and not an art. It doesn’t matter if Joey plays on time or not, what matters is that it SOUNDS GOOD. That’s why Ringo Starr, Charlie Watts, and many other of these minimalist type drummers that snobs like you keep criticizing keep popping up in rock and rolls greatest bands and not so much technical guys. Who is the greatest rock drummer ever if not John Bonham? He didn’t stay in time either, but it was close enough. If anything I rate it is a virtue. Perfect precision timing can sound sterile and boring. Neither quality necessarily makes you good or bad, it’s the gestalt of it. I would never argue how hard you hit the drums=how good of a drummer you are. Frankly technicalities are irrelevant, nor do I care, bonham didn’t hit hard either but it SOUNDED powerful because of the way he tuned the drums and where/how he hit them. Joey hits them hard like Grohl but so do a lot of drummers and I wouldn’t rate many 80s power drummers with Joey or Grohl. It’s not just how hard they hit. It’s taste, musicality, fitness, and many other qualities.
I agree. Alain johannes and Natasha Schneider included is my favorite lineup. The live concert video on UA-cam where they’re all dressed in black I believe 2004 or 2005 live concert is the best one for me. Alain’s guitar solo on long slow goodbye is out of this world 🖤🌸♒️
Not really he just doesn’t get as much chance to flex his drumming on the last 2 albums, he’s way more skilled than Joey and while he may not have quite the same energy as Joey he still has good energy and is a flawless live performer while Joey always had timing issues and often rushed songs. Jon is the most skilled drummer they’ve had the music they’ve written just hasn’t given him as much chance to shine as Dave and Joey got.
There are 2 more Bandsthat i love as much as QOTSA ,that are Alice in Chains( Layne Staley as Singer)and The DoorS.i want one song of Them on ny funeral, gotta Fins out witch 3.anyone suggestions.Im from Holland,And die anyone knowes that QOTSA sings 3 lines Dutch in a song? Becausr back in the days they toured with a band called Beaver ,that was Dutch.
Once you get past the gripping resemblance in physical features, they're tied in a kindred spiritual knot. Both radically different than their formulaic contemporaries in their respective "crafts" shall we say? 2 much needed breaths of fresh air. Not only the first president to attempt and actually follow through with campaign promises. He also tried his patriotic best to follow through and enforce legislation Obama put into law with no real intention of following through. Awesome, unique and neither back down from the challenges of our day. They carry their duties out and perform like tireless juggernauts . If they formed a band, they'd let me name them Swamp Drain-O
Always love an Era Vulgaris show! Super radical
It's such a fantastic album. Highly underrated. It's one Josh's most brilliant pieces of work. Least that is how I feel.
Love how its always mikeys birthday live… one min he is 30, 3 yrs later in norway he is 22….
What a fuckin set list. Best live version of Monsters I’ve ever heard
you should listen to monsters live @ montreux jazz fest 2005! it kicks hella ass
I love watching Joey play
Dam I cannot get enough of this band. My neighbors hate my guitar playing ass.

JESUS. This is one of the best performances I've seen QOTSA play!
there are better of them
There are better and just thinking is a testament of how good they are
This was a killer QOTSA show, nice to see it in good quality after so many years.
What a crowd! what a sound! what a drummer!
00:46 :}
i've lost my fuckin shit man.
such a good band.
One of the BEST concert videos I've seen. It looks insane.
Wild crowd. Love their back up vocals on Burn The Witch, Josh was impressed.
The concert video/video editing of this is so spot on. Absolutely love it.
One of the best if not the best Queens Show ever such a killer
Every qotsa show is Legendary.
That's a fact
So good to see Joey playing with them; nothing wrong with John but Castillo was just a monster when he played (even if his timing did drift a bit now and again.)
I think johns a tighter more technical drummer, but joey just had the feel of the band hands down
I prefer joey aswell. A rock band benefits from this energy.
I can not watch the newer live shows. The drums are so powerless and whitout rythm. Im sorry but castillo has timing
Joey is the second best drummer they've ever had. Close to first, but far from third.
joey was more rock and roll. team joey 100%
I love how you find all this stuff, all great shows from great eras. josh needs to hire you as an archive keeper or something

Their best concert on UA-cam ❤
