This is BY FAR their best performance in video form. EVERY song in this sounds better than the album version. The band outdoes itself. It's mind-blowing.

I don't think it's fair to blame faith no more for the nu metal movement, in the same way you can't blame Nirvana for all the really bad grunge music that followed. I know the guys in the band aren't flattered by that comparison.

The best show EVER from Faith NO More! Mike Patton really put everything he has into this one. Alot of shows he seemed like he was bored and couldn't have cared less if he was there, but you could tell he was into the music on this day. He really PERFORMED for this crowd and made one helluva good show!

Then again I was in Melbourne in 93 for work, my new job directly from meeting them in Perth, Australia, Jim Martin and I kept in touch so he called me down to go catch up with them there too on the Angel Dust tour. It was some of the best days of my life..and I'd travelled all around and met many bands, from Slash to Duff Mckagan, Kurt Cobain, the best. But Mike Patton was the secret love of my life since then..lol...the Melbourne, Australia memories were etched into my heart forever.✌🏼

I rarely meet people who think King for a day is their best album, but it's hard not to agree. But Angel Dust has to be my favorite, I have listened to that album more than any other by any band. It was like my Bible in high school.

They threw down hard at this show. Everything was clicking. I also like the heavier ending to Epic here. Collision and Naked In Front of the Computer were heavy as hell. Hudson doesn't get enough credit. Clean and accurate playing.
He's a solid player for sure. But he also strikes me as someone who won't rattle any cages and basically do what's ask of him. Opposed to Jim Martin who was a more forthright, stubborn, maybe contrary, character. Certainly, the mix of strong personalities with Jim in the band led to more conflict and fights. But it also led to the band's best music. I like KFAD and AOTY, but they always struck me as fairly standard, albeit very good, alternative rock albums. But they severely lack the character and adventure of IY, TRT and AD.

There are some tracks I can’t really fuck with any more but Spruance’s playing is really interesting and Mike is in peak vocal form. Take this Bottle, Last to Know, Just a Man…that is a great album to my ears.
I saw Patton in '19 with Argentina with Mondo Cane. The guy is in his '50s and his voice is still immaculate. Great performance. The guy is truly gifted.

Saw them live on this tour in Philadelphia. So glad I saw that show. Seeing this video now is magical. They were in top form in 97 after the 90s music explosion had waned and it seemed like no one else had any more good ideas. Faith No More captured the end of an era, while Album of the Year seemed to underscore the tragedies and losses of the dying music industry.

There’s nothing better in my opinion, so when Faith No More took the stage in tuxedos and proceeded to blast us in tens of thousands of watts of the percussive sound waves of songs like Naked in Front of the Computer, Mouth to Mouth, Got That Feeling, etc. I was in fucking bliss.

The Gentle Art Of Enemies slaps hard - Mike sings in like 4 or 5 vocal styles and kills it on all of them, and the riffs, grooves and drumming is just totally kick ass.
There's way more to it than just bashing the drums 😂The guy really worked on his technique, I've also tried to emulate him myself and it's surprisingly more intricate than you'd think
