Die Rockband Queens of the Stone Age um Josh Homme haben sich seit ihrer Gründung im Jahr 1996 zu einer noch bedeutenderen Größe im Musikbereich entwickelt als Hommes Vorgängerband, die Kulttruppe Kyuss. Die Musik von Queens of the Stone Age ist laut, hart und komplex zugleich und klingt selbst in ihren ruhigen Momenten immer brandgefährlich. Wir zeigen Euch hier das 2013er Queens of the Stone Age Konzert aus Düsseldorf.
Queens of the Stone Age formierten sich aus den rauchenden Überresten der Stoner-Rock-Legende Kyuss und veröffentlichten 1998 ihr erstes Studioalbum namens “Queens of the Stone Age”. Mit den darauffolgenden Alben “Songs For The Deaf” und “Lullbies To Paralyze” ging es für Queens oft he Stone Age musikalisch und kommerziell steil bergauf.
Der rifflastige Sound von Queens of the Stone Age täuscht oft über die musikalische Komplexität hinweg, die dahintersteht. Denn was Rhythmus und Groove betrifft, ist Queens of the Stone Age ganz vorne dabei. Ein Beleg der stilistischen Offenheit von Queens of the Stone Age sind unter anderem zahlreiche Gastauftritte und Kollaborationen im Studio, live oder in Musikvideos. Zu den musikalischen Partner*innen von Queens of the Stone Age gehören unter anderem Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), PJ Harvey, Trent Reznor oder Julian Casabalancas (The Strokes).
Das Queens of the Stone Age Album "… Like Clockwork" schoss 2013 in den USA direkt auf Platz 1 der Charts. Nach einer zweijährigen Tournee kündigte Queens of the Stone Age 2015 an, eine Auszeit zu nehmen und kehrte 2017 mit dem Album "Villains" zurück.
Rockpalast nahm Queens of the Stone Age mehrfach mit seinen Kameras ins Visier, denn mit ihren Auftritten beweisen Queens of the Stone Age immer wieder, dass sie nach wie vor zur Elite des harten Rock'n'Roll gehören.

They are absolutely phenomenal live. Had the pleasure of seeing them live twice and both times I was blown away.
They are phenomenal live. I haven't seen them in years. But I never quit listening to them. That includes each new album they release. Gonna try and catch them next time they roll through the Pacific Northwest.

The WDR/Rockpalast producers did a little something extra special for today's live stream. Can't put my finger on it yet...the overall tone seems richer.
Sounds like the bass, drums, and piano were pulled a bit closer to the front.

Yeah, it is a really good one for sure! The Tracklist is also quite unique and fits greats. Plus, Jon Theodore fucks up "I Appear Missing" and it's quite funny to see the Band interaction.
Oh, also go and check out the Rockpalast "Them Crooked Vultures"-Gig from 2009 in Cologne. It is pure BADASSERY, I think i've watched it 30 times or so...

Rockpalast is the world's greatest live concert broadcaster.That is not a paid announcement but how I feel after watching Rockpalast broadcasts since the late 1970s. This performance by QOFSA was as brilliant as the videography.

I really like this show. Its a new version of the band and it feels like they are getting to know each other... building trust... and they know it's working. They aren't just blasting it out. They are **playing** like a band.
This was 2013, they've really turned a different route with villans from their desert rock origins. Nothing beats the 2002 lineup or the album's around that time

the rock in rio show? brings up painful memories. i made the trip from finland to lisboa for the show and the mixing was done just awful... such a shame, such an awesome lineup and setlist for the band
@@kualema No...the Rock in rio concert was in 2014... I saw them at Super bock super rock in 2013 at Praia do Meco. Gary Clark Jr. opened for them, his first time in Portugal.

What a stunning, stinking, bitching set from Qotsa. Yeah, they're at the top of my list of rock bands around today. It looks like they have so much fun playing live. God I hope they tour down under again if this pandemic ever ends, or is somewhat controlled.

This is fucking God Tier. Holy shit! They say there is nothing perfect in this world. I disagree with that statement. I always said music can be perfect. From the first tune, " You think I ain't worth a dollar, but I feel like a millionaire," all the way to song 11, "Kalopsia" is just perfect. My only dislike is Little Sister. Ive never liked the song. But I can live with it. Just phenomenal. Thanks for posting. 🤘

@@gerardobaxana I Appear Missing and A Song for the Dead were also recorded, but i remembered in the original livestream from 2013, that I Appear Missing somehow went completetly wrong in the 2nd half of the song and was cut out afterwards.
Jon Theodore is miced irresponsibly in this era. This is corrected later live performances, perhaps with a new FOH guy?
