    Had a similar problem on a CBR250RR.....spent ages going over all the main ignition components. Even made a peak voltage adaptor and everything was ok....finally found no 12volts from the battery at the primary coil tab. It was a loose pin in the connector.....sigh.

    There is a 100 ohm resistor in the ignition switch that goes bad and allows 12 volts through that's why it wont start

      @broncoiipower 3 роки тому +2

      I really hope that putting in a 100 ohm fuse fixes my problem. I’m getting 12.22 at the battery and then at the white connector up front it read 9.46 I believe. At the very back ( by ecu/igniter ) the grey wire is reading 12.2 12.7 . It cranks all day long no start no spark .

    • @LetricShave
      @LetricShave 3 роки тому +2

      That would be a 100 ohm resistor, not fuse. You have to check your ignition pickup coil to see if it shows resistance using an ohm meter. If it reads infinity, it is no good. Infinity is displayed as OL on your meter. Try going through all the resistance scale ranges on your meter, so as not to be fooled by having your meter on the wrong setting.

    What was that, a ZX-11? So, what would you suggest if you ran into a problem with a 2000 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12R the Unrestricted A1, and you pull in your driveway, with a good battery, come outside and no spark and not priming?

    Yes I have a 1997 zx600c and the ignition switch connector has six prongs and it has a gray wire in the middle coming from the switch going to the next the connector piece on the other side has no wire to connect to gray

  • @DanielHernandez-s6b

    I’m having the same issue no spark. I tested the gray wire and I’m getting 12 volts once I connect to the cdi it drops to 9.79 volts. I’ve read your comments on no more then 6 volts are suppose to go through, so does that mean my cdi is burnt or In anti theft mode?

    • @cickic1
      @cickic1 2 місяці тому

      It's more then likely a blown resistor in the ignition switch. You absolutely have to have around 6volts on the grey wire going into the cdi. So you'll need a 1/4 watt 100ohm resistor going from the white wire to the grey wire. (Although I have mine going from the brown to grey because the white is a constant hot 12v source and the brown isn't) everything I've read says white to grey but Brown also works.

    I hope he puts the orange gasket back on the circuit board he popped open. He took it off and tossed it. Water and corrosion love open seals.

    The grey wire is a security measure. It can have no more than 6 volts going into the cdi. If it has more it wont send power to the coils. Anti-theft security measures.

Dialed them in by eye... and wonder how much pressure the fuel pump is pushing. Should it run continuously? It purges ok. For a few seconds and then falls off. Any tips?
