You should turn it off then go to vs and choose easy ai 48 tracks, no items and 100 or 150cc.

for people with the switch, is it better to use the entire switch while playing this or to get a controller? I’m kind of stuck on that part
I think it depends on which one you're used to, I can use both but I prefer the switch joycons :)
