Back in the 80's when I would pick up a guy hitchhiking I would always say, "I figure I'm safe, what is the chance there would be two serial killers in this car." Never had an issue... love you guys!

It's an interesting song since both sisters said it was one they didn't want to do since it was opposite of the scene they wanted to encourage. Ann says she is still amazed by the popularity of it in Australia and other world markets. They did a great job singing it.
Late to this, but I agree. Also, originally, they (Ann) wanted Don Henley and The Eagles to do this song. But, Don felt it would portray negative connotations…ironic…
May 16 1986 I saw Heart in Inglewood California. Not only are they a amazing band but, Ann and Nancy were absolutely amazing to talk to. January 1987 I had a one night stand that also lead to a daughter. I didn’t find out about her till February 2021.
Favorite Heart song "Alone" and their Led Zeppelin tribute at the Kennedy Center Honors. They sing "Stairway To Heaven" and yheir cover is spectacular!!!🎶🎼🎵🎤🎹🎧🎙🎸🥁🔥🔥🔥
I absolutely loved this reaction. One of my favorite bands. Ann Wilson has the dark hair and usually sings lead. Nancy Wilson has the blonde hair and sings lead some time but always plays the guitar. They both can play guitar as well as other instruments and are both very talented sisters. I love their music. Enjoy their music as it's all good and thanks for sharing this reaction. And yes as another stated this wasnt one of the duos favorites songs. I love it though. Magic Man and Straight On are awesome. I really like the slower These Dreams also. Love your channel.😊
This song was written by Mutt Lange in the '70s and he wanted Don Henley to record it. It ended up going to Dobie Gray ("Drift Away"), who released it in 1979 on his self-titled album. That version went unnoticed, but when Heart recorded this version for their 1990 album Brigade, it was a huge hit, reaching #2 in the US.
So I know this is an older video but I just found you guys. This song was a huge impact on me and got me in so much trouble. I liked the song and was always singing it. It came on the radio and I asked my mom to turn it up and my aunt was riding with us. Once the chorus hit, my aunt freaked and started yelling at me and my mom. She couldn't believe my mom would let me listen to and sing along with this song. I was about 15. I couldn't understand why my aunt got upset (she was always the "cool" aunt). Later that night, she sat me down and asked if I understood why this song was not a great song to listen to ... I said no. She explained ... its about a woman who is in love with a man but she wants a baby so bad that she drives around picking up strangers and sleeps with them hoping to get pregnant. When they get to the hotel in the song, she says "it was a place I knew well". So not only is she sleeping around with strangers but she's lying to the man she's in love with, trying to pass off another man's baby as his. I think it was that moment that I realized you don't have to agree with a song to listen to it and think it sounds good. I love Heart! "What About Love" and "Alone" are also good ones.
Haha, nice! My favorite heart song is crazy on you. I've been so in love with Ann Wilson's voice for decades. This happened to me in 1984. I was 19 and she was in her 30s. I met her in a bar not hitchhiking, but she did get pregnant. I might do a video about that... and Ann Wilson hated this song because she didn't think it could happen.
My favorite “Heart” performance was a Tribute to “Led Zeppelin,” and Heart sung “Stairway to Heaven! At the Kennedy Center In Washington, to Led Zeppelin. President Obama and Michelle were present. It was one of the best performances I’ve ever seen! Ever💯I was more afraid of them messing up in front Robert Plant than the president, because he don’t like other people singing that particularly song. It was so good.

Whatchin ya'lls stages of realization of what this song is all about was priceless! I'm in stitches 🤣 Nancy Wilson is the lead vocalist with her sister Ann on the guitar and backup vocals.
The 80s and 90s has a lot of cutting edge music. A lot of artists were pushing the boundaries of what they could get by with. I have always loved this song, but seeing you're always reaction to it has cracked me up. I have been laughing so hard. 😂
Two really great heart songs to check out! A very early Heart song called "Crazy on You" (live version so you can see Nancy play the guitar). Then from just a few years ago they did a fantastic cover of Led Zepplins "Stairway to Heaven" (and they did it in front of the members of Led Zepplin: Talk about pressure). They killed it.
You guys should check out their song "Tell it like it is" it's a great vibe. Being an "older" woman myself I can definitely relate to this song and Ann's voice is so powerful in this one.
I love this song. I love all the oldies but goodies from the 50s and 60s. I love a lot of music from all the years on all junras as you call them. I think that is how you spell it?
People have been recommending their cover of Stairway to Heaven, which I second, but for a deeper dive check out The Lovemongers (which consisted of the two women in the band, the Wilson sisters) performing another Led Zeppelin song, The Battle of Evermore. It was on the soundtrack for the movie Singles (which featured tons of Seattle bands in the early 90's - the heart [pun intended] of the grunge movement). Ann's voice is amazing! For their 80's work, I love These Dreams, and Alone. Loved the reaction!
I miss the 80's. I lived that song. except I wasn't in love with another man. We hitchhiked everywhere and picked up hitchhikers. The 80's were a different time and so different than today. Love the looks on your faces.
Haven't watched the reaction yet and I've already pressed "like". Welcome to Heart! Awesome. Thank you in advance. And may I suggest just about ANY song by Ann and Nancy Wilson!?
Nice reaction. This song was shocking even back in the 90's. I noticed you two missed the line about planting a seed and growing a tree in the verse before the looked into his own eyes line. That had alot of folks like hey what? And the I'm in love with another man but he couldn't give me what you could. That was a big wooooooooohhh. Ouch!!! There was no song done in response to this. Like how that other man felt when he looked into the babies eyes and didn't see his. Did he start by checking what the mailman looked like? This song was a well that's messed up moment. As romantic as the song sounds, nobody wanted this song dedicated to them.
Agreed, so many people hear this and the chorus and think its kind of romantic not remembering that she is essentially talking about the 1990 equivalent of a Tinder hook up with the intention of getting pregnant. Much the same way I find it hilarious that people would dance to 'Every Breath You Take' by The Police at weddings, when it is a stalker song.
The song "Magic Man" is a true story of Nancy's' fling (I think) so I guess it's the precursor to the current song. Either way it's a great song. There may have been lots of impromptu sperm donors in the late 60's, 70's and 80s. My generation ushered in casual sex and STD , AIDS and other interesting medical challenges. I got married in 81 so I missed out on a lot of the (fun?) stuff.
Hell of "a fling" it lasted for 7 years, and led Heart to move to Canada for a few years as her Magic Man was going to be illegally arrested as a draft dodger. Their greatest albums were made in Canada, and they went coast to coast and became stars in Canada well before America had a clue.
ToddStevens you crazy! They made their best albums in Canada because Rodger Fisher was dodging the draft? Excuse me, if you're saying Magic Man and Little Queen became coast to coast in Canada before WE had a clue?? The draft was over by the time those LPs were made, and THEY were the best LPs and they DID make them nationwide stars! I don't know what LPs you're talking about! And so what if he was a draft dodger! A lot of them back then went to Canada to avoid going to serve and possibly killed in a illegal war that we lost anyway! So that was 70 years ago and when the returning warriors returned home, they were spit on and called baby killers. Can you blame ANYONE for burning their draft card and getting TF out?
@@cathyhall1350 I saw them live back then, yes I am one hell of an old coger, and both those albums were recorded in Canada, they returned to the states in time to polish up their second album in America and yes they were Headlining, not huge arenas yet but 1000+ seaters in Canada long before America, except for those areas that picked up Canadian stations, broke for them. Even their advertising at that time stated "All the way from Canada, Heart", when the first album came out in the cross border areas of the northern USA.
Hahahahahaha this song is awesome!!!! She just took advantage of an opportunity to have a child… which her husband couldn’t do… this was 🔥🔥🔥🔥 when it came out!!! Y’all are too funny, great reaction!!! 💜💜🥰🥰
This is a song about a woman who was very much in love with a man who was impotent. He couldn't have children. She was very happy with him, but wanted a child. That evening in the song happens. Is that scandalous? I think it's a beautiful story. And she runs into him years later, still in love with that other man, her husband. Very relatable, I think most women want to have at least one child. Scandalous in that she used him as a surrogate father. I think most men in the context of this song would be ok with it. I would.
Her note in the song says, “ I am the flower, you are the seed We walked in the garden, we planted a tree Don't try to find me, please don't you dare” She basically says she was just trying to plant a seed, or get pregnant. And this was more 90’s
Heart the two lead singers are sisters. the song written by mutt lang. He is a great writer of songs for artist. The story is a good one. I had to hear the song a couple of times to really get the whole story.
There is really no compliment that will do Ann and Nancy Wilson justice. Sooooo amazing. Also, so many of us are so happy there were no cell phones or social media in the 80's 😁. Our stories are sacred😂😂
Forget the spice girls forget Anouk. This is the real Woman Power Song. It is an ode to how women can be determined to, smart about, focused too, but also treacherous and manipultive to get whet they want.No matter what. Real girl (woman) power
The song was written by Mutt Lange, Shania Twain's ex-husband. It was a big hit for Heart in 1990. Heart hated performing this song live, and you hardly hear them perform this in concert.
I have seen Ann Wilson talk about this song and how she finds the story gross. However, she admits that it was a big hit for them and will occasionally preform it (as she knows it is a fan favorite). However, I believe Heart’s biggest hit is the song “Along”. It has been covered by many singers over the years, but none seem to convey the emotion that is felt when listening to Ann’s voice. Heart is one of few bands I have seen that are actually better in concert. This particular version of “Alone” is my favorite, as it was done with limited instrumentation and Ann’s voice was (in my opinion) at its peak (and she was 52 at the time). Ann is truly one of the best story tellers in the history of Rock! ua-cam.com/video/I5XX6KUhs8Y/v-deo.html For the holidays, I recommend listening to Heart’s cover of “Oh, Holy Night” ua-cam.com/video/H5-JMlr_8ww/v-deo.html. This my favorite Christmas song cover by a Rock band!
I know this was released much later by . . .The seventies are know as the decade of free love and rock in roll. If you can't be with the one you love the one your with. I hitched across the US from coast to coast and stayed in communes along the way. I never encountered any disease or anything like that but I did love the one I was with sometimes.
The look on your faces was priceless, actually Ann and Nancy hated the song, they said they felt coerced to record it and they promised that they would never ever do it live.
The point of the song which I think a lot of people miss is that she desperately wanted to have a child but the man she was with could not get her pregnant for whatever reason. So at the end of her rope she convinces herself that a one night stand with a stranger is a viable option and then later in the song her and the child just happen to come across the stranger where he is working. She thought she would never see him again which is one of the reasons she has the one night stand with him in the first place. Great reaction video by the way, sorry if I came off a little preachy just a big fan of Anne and Nancy Wilson Anne is the singer by the way.
They did not write this one and and Ann Wilson never particularly liked it. She doesn't sing it in concert anymore. The vocals are amazing. The vocals are always amazing. So many good Heart songs .Dog and the Butterfly,, Alone, Never....the list is very long. Y'all need to react to their performance of Stairway to Heaven at the Kennedy Center, honoring Led Zepplin.
The most romantic song ever written about a spermjacking. lmao. Seriously though, Lzzy Hale / Halestorm's cover of this song does it SUCH justice and you should check it out.
Best to focus on the 70s. This was the best version of the band with Roger Fisher on guitar, Michael DeRosier on drums, Steve Fossen on bass, and Howard Leese guitar/multi-instrumentalist. Since you’ve already heard Barracuda, do these next: Crazy On You, Magic Man, Straight On, Even it up, Heartless, Dog and Butterfly, Mistral Wind, and Dreamboat Annie. The cover of Tell It Like It Is really showcases Ann’s vocals. Also worth perusing through various live albums to check out their live covers, mostly Zeppelin tunes, such as Rock n roll, Battle of Evermore, Black dog, etc. I think you’ve already heard/seen the 2012 Kennedy Center Honors Stairway to Heaven tribute w/Jason Bonham on drums. Excellent, very emotionally stirring performance that was masterfully arranged. 80s Heart featured lineup changes in the band, outside songwriting, slick production, strong MTV video presence, some good catchy tunes, like What About Love, If Looks Could Kill, Never, These Dreams, Who Will You Run To and Alone, but no longer special in terms of musicianship. It was all about bringing in strong songs, Ann’s voice (of course) and Nancy’s image. Best from the 90s was the live acoustic album The Road Home featuring John Paul Jones from Zep, otherwise there wasn’t much. It was a time for them to slow down, reflect, regroup, regather and reset. They started a side project The Love Mongers as an outlet to do what they wanted without it having to be Heart material. 2000s saw more lineup changes , the band you see at the Kennedy Center minus Jason Bonham. They.took back control and started writing their own material again. Much of it back to their roots, softer acoustic songs in the vein of Dreamboat Annie, etc, with a few rockers mixed in. There are some decent songs scattered throughout, such as Lost Angel, but in general just not on par with the magic of their early material. Still overall, great band, incredible singers, fantastic career longevity and catalog of material. The 2 later live albums, 1 in Seattle (hometown crowd) and 1 in Atlantic City with special guests Jerry Cantrell/Alice in Chains, Dave Navarro(Jane’s Addiction, RHCP), Gretchen Wilson, Carrie Underwood and Rufus Wainwright. Both Ann and Nancy have solo material, collaborations/duets and side projects.
FYI I have watched a few reaction videos of them doing stairway to heaven at kennedy center, so i dont think it gets blocked. Its a beautiful experience, Led Zepplin is being honored so they are there watching.
I gotta admit I was put off by this song when it came out. It's somewhat comforting to know the Wilson sisters were not overly fond of it either. Kind of a shame it was their last big hit though. Personally I think the best Heart song is Barracuda, closely followed by Magic Man. Mostly I thought their 80s stuff was a step down, though Alone was pretty good. Great reaction!

This is my favorite Heart song...risque’ as it may be. I’m not truly a great Heart fan, but I totally Love this one!❤
You should listen to Heart sing “Stairway to Heaven” in a tribute to Led Zeppelin. Incredible!
Great reaction! You guys need to check out their song, “Nothin’ At All!” It one of my favorites!
Heart had some killer vocals and instrumentals.
I had a number of one night stands in the eighties. However, in retrospect, I suppose my biggest mistake was not writing songs about them. 😢
✌🏼😎🤣
This is a song about a woman who was very much in love with a man who was impotent. He couldn't have children. She was very happy with him, but wanted a child. That evening in the song happens. Is that scandalous? I think it's a beautiful story. And she runs into him years later, still in love with that other man, her husband. Very relatable, I think most women want to have at least one child. Scandalous in that she used him as a surrogate father. I think most men in the context of this song would be ok with it. I would.
Y'all don't know what freaks we were in the '80's😂
lol
I actually went to a concert at the forum on the tour when the sun came out. Cheap Trick opened. It was a great show
Her note in the song says,
“ I am the flower, you are the seed
We walked in the garden, we planted a tree
Don't try to find me, please don't you dare”
She basically says she was just trying to plant a seed, or get pregnant. And this was more 90’s
No 80s lol
@@saucyempress9803 1990 actually so close enough to the 80's that it carried on to the early 90's.
Apparently she had never heard of a sperm bank!
Heart the two lead singers are sisters. the song written by mutt lang. He is a great writer of songs for artist. The story is a good one. I had to hear the song a couple of times to really get the whole story.
You two are great. Love your reaction here...Priceless!
Magic Man and this song are my favorite Heart songs. I can't choose between those 2.
One of the best songs and video of all time ❤
"You can imagine his surprise
When he saw his own eyes"
Watch Heart doing Stairway to Heaven at the Rock and Roll music Hall of Fame induction ceremony
You guys are hysterical! Story is about a couple who couldn’t conceive and she wanted a baby badly
The song was written by Mutt Lange, Shania Twain's ex-husband. It was a big hit for Heart in 1990. Heart hated performing this song live, and you hardly hear them perform this in concert.
This is one of my favorite reactions ever.
Ann is truly one of the best story tellers in the history of Rock! ua-cam.com/video/I5XX6KUhs8Y/v-deo.html
For the holidays, I recommend listening to Heart’s cover of “Oh, Holy Night” ua-cam.com/video/H5-JMlr_8ww/v-deo.html. This my favorite Christmas song cover by a Rock band!
That baby had shockingly, beautiful eyes. ❤
I know this was released much later by . . .The seventies are know as the decade of free love and rock in roll. If you can't be with the one you love the one your with. I hitched across the US from coast to coast and stayed in communes along the way. I never encountered any disease or anything like that but I did love the one I was with sometimes.
Y’all stepped on the best line and most telling part of the song
The look on your faces was priceless, actually Ann and Nancy hated the song, they said they felt coerced to record it and they promised that they would never ever do it live.
Fantastic reaction to this video.
Crazy experiences in the 80's.
My daddy always said only thing open after midnight is legs and hospital!
Omg I miss the eighties when we could trust each other unconditionally
Stairway to Heaven cover is a must if you haven't heard it yet. Heart also has a great cover of Led Zeppelin "Black Dog".
Yes...I loved the 80's WOOHOO!!😂😂😂
The 80s always knew how to make scandalous behavior sound romantic Af 😂
Your reaction to this, once you figured it all out, was Awesome!! LOL. Love it!!
Saw them in concert.
Magic Man
Dogs and Butterflies
Great reaction to this song... 👏👏👏
Great reaction video by the way, sorry if I came off a little preachy just a big fan of Anne and Nancy Wilson Anne is the singer by the way.
its still happening NOW kids....relax humans are humans
If you haven't already, would love to see your reaction to Heart's "Alone."
80’s were great but the 60’s were the best!
oh how i loved and miss the 80s lol good times i was 19 in 1986
Tasha is the bomb! Respectfully!
You're faces were awesome on this one! Gotta love the 80s! 😁
Absolutely ❤
Ann and Nancy Wilson. From Seattle (before suicide, depression and skinny white geeks with needle marks took over). These Dreams is a haunting ballad.
Classic Heart
