@@brianhall4182 The CP for Death Guard is way too niche for a faction starter box. Typhus with poxwalkers is its own sub-genre of Death Guard. If you wanted to play a different way, you’d have to either buy the 8th edition starter box or start your entire army again from scratch.

@@CTA12356 Ya, you are right. I mixed the lore with the Warhammer fantasy rpg 1st ed. in that lore, the Slann were the old ones, but in the lore following, the old ones were the creators of the warp gates.

The Tau Boarding Patrol pairs pretty well with the combat patrol for a starter if you want to play farsight enclaves. you do have to ditch the ethereal, but you get 20 fire-warriors, crisis suits, stealth suits, the ghostkeel and farsight himself. not bad.
The ork patrol is everything I want, all stuff I desire for my collection

So in terms of general Seraphon/Lizardmen races:
Slaan - Big toad strong magic users
Saurus - Dino warrior (infantry or cavalry)
Skinks - Small fast geckos (fast cavalry or chaff infantry) with some being able to use magic and can be promoted to floaty chair if powerful enough.
Kroxigor - Giant bipedal crocodile used as heavy troops and labour force.
And then all the big dinos.

I gotta say, out of all the models recently announced, I’m stoked for the Minka Lesk model coming out! I’ve been on the fence about getting the new cadian sculpts to paint and run them as true cadians but now that Lesk is getting her own sculpt, I’ll probably get both when she comes out XD.

@@CTA12356 I'm pretty sure they mean the method of actually printing phrases out in strips then wrapping them around models with Elmer's glue, not the T'au alphabet. I'd be interested in seeing how that's done too.

Whats interesting about the Viorla thing is that their current scheme wasnt even the original scheme. The red (for their hot blood, which I think Viorla directly translates to Hot-Blooded if I remember correctly) has always been present as their squad markings, but their homeworld armour colour was in fact green, because Viorla itself was a Death World similar to Catachan.
This is me going back to the 3rd / 4th edition books to try and remember this mind you, though I still have my 4th kicking around.
Also regarding colour schemes, Tau can be just about any colour you want, as its the squad markings that denote their sept, not the armour colour. The Farsight red is a gorgeous scheme but its basically their parade colours so if youre like me who wants this gorgeous model but has a blue / pink / orange army, then its still game to be farsight.

Armour: Rotting Flesh
Cloth: Catachan Green
Codex Tau Empire 4th edition
As for different colour schemes or changes I've always played my tau as D'Yanoi but as the 3rd edition book doesn't link any colour scheme to any specific scept I had made my own scheme back them but I sold that army (Blue and Silver) and now when I came back for Kill team I fluffed my team as D'Yanoi again but didn't go with the D'Yanoi Scheme in the 4th edition book (Ice Blue, Graveyard Earth and Desert Yellow) I instead went for a bone colour with Teal accents and an Ochre cloth colour.

Aggressors have great close combat. Deceptively great. Especially at 30 points each having five durable models 3w with great shooting and good anti take melee with shock assault is a steal. Pair them with an apothecary and they have "come at me bro" status for the low price of 150 points.
I painted every unit in my farsight army a different colour, they look amazing on the table and i am going to be all over that new box.
you mean everyone has a different Sept Colour and the shoulder is of the Farsight enclaves colour? because its what i had in mind for my paint scheme but i didnt find any photo for ispirations XD
@@francescofabiani8117 that's what I did. Army consists of T'au, Vior'la and farsight, but all models are metallic to tie them together as well. T'au are gold, Vior'la are silver and farsight metallic red. Really works well with smooth T'au models.

O'Shovah (Farsight) was born in Vior'la, so painting a Farsight led force white would be partialy fine within the lore.
The last farsight was never in pewter as far as I was aware and as far as I can find. The OLD old farsight was a plastic commander kit with metal bits for the sword and shield.

These Boarding Patrol boxes are a little odd as they aren't all priced similarly. Like in EUR the 4 upcoming BP boxes available for pre-order this weekend are DG 90, GSC 100, CD 105 and AdMech 110. It's a little awkward because we never know how much the next ones are going to be priced. However, they are decent saving and a lovely mix of miniatures for people building an army from scratch. I've got the GSC half of Tooth and Claw as well as Shadow Throne and a GSC Combat Patrol, so the addition of the GSC BP box will have me set, pretty much. A little bit heavy on Aborrants and I'll have to sell one of the two Abominants, but that's overall a pretty good saving for a very expensive army to collect :)

GW launches a second hand mini selling service where you can take your minis to your local GW store. The store will then list them at the your price, but the store will describe the condition of the mini. GW takes a consignment cut and makes some money off of the huge second hand market, and the consumers get a more reliable option for buying second hand minis.

I had a Dark Vengeance box! The reason the box itself did not survive is because it was really cheap cardboard. Flimsy, almost feeling like it was wet all the time. The newer boxes are much stronger. Probably coated in more plastic. So yeah, that is why you don’t have a DV box, Jay.

I don't know that Dark Angels box seems poorly timed, if the 10th Edition Terminator upscale rumors are true (unless GW are using it to clear their warehouse of some of the previous Terminator upscale sprues before the new ones come out) personally I'm waiting to buy any new Terminators till either it is revealed that a new upscale is occurring or not. I'll probably pick up a combat patrol box sometime soon. (Hard to pick which one as I prefer squads of 10, but my Chapters Combat Patrol only includes squads of 5 and a tank I'm not overly fond of, plus librarian, and 3 Agressors)

If I remember correctly the Slann are powerful psychic frogs, and the lizard men are technically all dead and have been for some time. The slann uses its powerful psychic mind powers to imagine its old lizard men colony as it once was and is able to bring that imagination into reality. So technically the lizard men arnt alive anymore or real they are just a figment of the slanns imagination brought back to life. It’s like having your best memory’s stored and being able to bring them back, but In this case it’s an army you can bring back into reality. If you were to kill the slann, I believe the whole army would just vanish because it’s his psychic link that manifests them reality. The reason they are all dead is they were all killed off in the old world and slann was able to escape on its star ships, returning to the AOS setting. If that makes sense and I remember correctly

Though i haven't really played 6th ed games, i always get a bit sad when i see someone trashtalking it. I can't say anything about balance in that edition, and the rules bloat was indeed starting to spike up, but when i remember it did bring many interesting things as well as streamlining others. Quite a few stapples of today 40k were introduced in 6th ed :
- first edition where you could premesure distances anytime. It was forbidden previously.
- To balance that, introduced random charge distance with 2D6 rolls
- Introduced 'snapshots', basically move an shoot heavy weapons and overwatch
- Also kinda introduced vehicules Wounds with Hull points. Previously you simply had a small chance to kill a tank each time
Really if you ignore balance and just remove some rdundant universal rules and some unit types, 6th ed had the potential to be really great
