👁 About this video : Here we go! Finally racing my newly tuned Toyota Supra against my full bolt on Nissan GTR! The GTR is a super fast car that pulls so hard in acceleration! It never stops pulling. My tuned Supra now has a massive amount of usable torque and it comes on so low! We do 2nd gear runs from 20 mph and 3rd gear pulls from 30 mph. Crazy how powerful the Supra is and it stays ahead of the GTR till about triple digit speeds! The power tapers off in the high RPM for the Supra, and thats where the top end of the GTR takes over and fly's by! The last run, Supra slammed on the brakes right when the GTR was about to pass. Awesome result! Supra is a quicker car under 100 MPH, GTR is a faster car over 100 MPH. GTR needs some more work to stay faster!! Supra is one heck of a car!

I took delivery one of the very first R35 GTR’s almost exactly 12 years ago in Aug 2008 and then had a 2013 Dark Blue Pearl and both cars very COBB tuned, then I bought a 2015 GTR BE and did the AMS Performance Alpha 7 package, so I’m very much an R35 fan but having sold it several years ago and not having a strong desire to keep buying the same basic GTR (since Nissan refuses to redesign it) I decided to buy a 2020 Supra (despite hating on the car when it was first unveiled) and although I still wish it was a little more Toyota in some areas I am absolutely loving it and actually having even more fun with it after doing an ECUTEK tune and downpipe than I had in my GTR. Build quality is incredible, no squeaks or rattles, paint finish is great, it rides amazing, is super comfortable, looks much better in person, transmission (despite not being a DCT) is better than the GTR’s and super impressive. I love the lighter weight feel and agility compared to the Nissan and with the exception of the steering being too vague and not enough road feel I have nothing to complain about..... especially since I only paid less than $50k for it with discounts. It really is a great car 👍🏻

600 vs 450 is quite a big difference in power. The weight difference with GTR and Supra is about 400lbs (decent amount), but hp is still too big of a difference. Wonder what would happen if you put in the same amount mods in the Supra as you did on the GTR, that would be really interesting to see
Yeah $10k in Supra mods it’d probably have like 800 HP/TQ. Basic bolt ons for each car. But GTR has injectors. So we’ll see as more things happen!

I don’t know. I don’t think that test is really representative of what the GTR is capable of. Just drop the GTR down a gear and that will preload the turbos.
Sure if you set the test up so that the Supra sits in its torque band and the GTR doesn’t then the Supra will look better.
It also looked like the Supra got the jump on the GTR. I am definitely impressed with the Supra’s torque but you haven’t convinced me that it is actually faster than either the GTR or the Corvette C8.
Put a set of drag tires on the Supra and that might all change. You definitely need a tire sponsor with that torque monster.
Yeah at 30 if the GTR was in 2nd and Supra in 3rd it’d be close for a bit then the GTR would walk it. So we just elevated to keep the speed and gears the same to test out each gear. But normal driving which is all under 100, they both feel super fast

Oh the GTR was outta gear? Gear number is a bit irrelevant because the gear ratios are different anyway. Sounds like ball to the wall that GTR will smoke the Supra in any situation. (I. Biased because I just bought a GT-R🤣)
@@BrosFOURRSpeed gear ratios matter more than just a gear number, and so does engine load. If one car is at 2k and the other is at 5k rpm obviously the car that's in the power band will pull no matter what.

Why is everyone saying the supra won lol. In a 1/4 mile you get over 100 as well so the gtr is clearly the faster car
Well all depends on what we’re looking for. Supra held off the GTR for quite a lot of time. Anything under 100, Supra is faster. GTR overall is still faster tho

It's normal that the Supra *feels* faster, the torque down low is crazy. It's time for E50 tune. By looking at your races, the E50 tune will make this race neck to neck.

Curious, why have the GTR in 3rd gear at 30mph? That’s definitely not the best gear for optimal acceleration. That’s a bit of an advantage to the Supra since it has closer ratios (8-speed vs 6-speed). Nonetheless, the Supra is impressive and they have definitely exceeded most people’s expectations! 👌
Just wanted to keep the speeds and gears equal. But if the GTR was in 2nd, itd pass much sooner. Can always do some more!

I agree that you gave away the biggest advantage the GT-R has - all wheel drive- with the rolls. The Supra is a torque monster no doubt, but I really like the smoother power curve of the GT-R. Both of them are incredible cars with great heritage.

I am more of an instant Torque fan and I do agree the GTR has an amazing power curve! Are there still modifications that can be made to make the GTR more responsive to pinning the throttle ?
RazzerRaw Cobb has a TCM tuning for rolling anti-lag that loads up the turbos for reduced lag. I have no experience with it as I don’t have the module. My tuner says it has to be enabled with a custom tune.

GTR's having turbochargers which take a while to build boost before they produce power. Are Standalone programable ECU unit tunings different from TCM tunings ?
RazzerRaw Yes. The TCM has a few more parameters that can be fine tuned like shift pressures, etc. It also will let you adjust the launch RPM, rolling anti-lag, “manual” automatic shifting, etc. I think there is video on here with some info about it.

That is one sweet sounding and looking Supra! You two should check out the Papadakis Racing build for the Supra for the upcoming formula drift season. They make 1000 HP with the B58 engine! along with some crazy fabrication!

Both awesome cars. Not really a fair race though. You should pick a speed to start the race from and let each driver choose whatever gear suited their car. Then I am sure the GTR would have it right from the hit.

No hate but not at all impressed with the Supra. You basically handed over the win to Supra because we all can hear how the GT-R was kept in high gear. Drop it down and see how it demolishes a Supra. How can you give advantage to one car and keep the other at a disadvantage? Also if you use anti- lag, the GT-R would have put bus lengths on the Supra. I have watched your videos and this was unfair comparison.
Well I was just keeping the gears and speed consistent to see how they each do in the same setting. But I think I’ll do another 30 roll. But with the GTR in 2nd and using rolling launch. We know gear for gear the Supra smokes it with torque. But yeah let’s level the playing field and see how it does 😎

Was really curious how this would go. Supra did great out of the chute which was impressive but the GTR took over in the long run. I was kind of surprised. I thought the Supra might leave the G behind. Considering the investment of dollars in each, that’s pretty impressive for the Supra. Both are great machines. So fun! Thanks.

Very true! GTR has so much top end, I knew it’d catch up! But might to rematch with the GTR down a gear using rolling launch
Don’t look down on the Supra the wrong way. Just a simple tune and a downpipe it is able to tell the GTR what it can do. 450hp to 600hp that is a big difference. That is about an extra 150hp on top of the Supra and look at what the Supra could do. Of course if you are driving the R you better win. Driving a GTR you should not be “excited” when you defeat a Supra. Your main rivals should be a 911 GT2, Corvette ZR1, and the M4 Competition CSL. Overall the Supra is a great car for what it is capable of, however the GTR will always be Japans best Supercar.

Supra is def fast, but I call all those GTR wins all day long. GTR pulled away quicker than the Supra jumped out.
Yeah the GTR certainly is faster. But the Supra feels much quicker sine it has crash low end power. I need to do another race with the GTR down a gear and using rolling launch

2020 stock GTR Premium is 565 HP and 467 torque. That would be a better/more interesting comparison. But in terms of price differences, still impressive for the Supra.
I'd like to see my tuned Supra against a stock GTR. Would be very close! And yeah Supra is a bargain for half the money!

Love all the vids but this wasn’t a fair race at all. The first race was 20mph 2nd gear pull, 2nd race was 30mph 3rd gear pull. The supra has a 8 speed, while the gtr has a 6 speed, which means 3rd hear in the supra is going to have a better acceleration than the gtr in 3rd hear. More gears, means each gear is shorter
This video was to simply test how each car accelerates in the same gear at the same speed. We can see how the instant turbo power in the Supra pulls on the Turbo lag in the GTR. Check out his video where we see each car in an optimal rpm: ua-cam.com/video/oxDbjWt_9n0/v-deo.html
That massive , immediate lowend torque wave just makes that supra squirt ahead instantly but only for a time..u know what they say about hp and torque...Torque initially presses u back in the seat but its HP that Keeps u there.
Yeah really, the instant torque is crazy in the Supra. GTR builds and builds and the HP takes over

The GTR has a dual clutch while the the super is using the ZF-8HP that torque converter has better low end torque for cornering. So yes on a Track no doubt the Supra would kill the GTR all day but a drag the GTR has it beat. all in all both good cars. yes i would say upgrades are needed on the GTR. lol honestly i say lets slap a pure 800 on the supra and really open her up

Wow that’s impressive for the Supra. I figured the Supra would take the low end speed since it’s lighter. It’s a totally different feel when you’re driving a RWD car versus an AWD car.

If you have access to e85, an e40 tune would do you wonders. Take the gains you’ve made up to this point and double them. It really is a massive difference.
I've heard some awesome things on the E blends for both these cars!
150whp is just too big of a difference to make up for the weight advantage the Supra has. If you got an E50 tune and make around 60-70whp more, I think the Supra would hold ahead much longer. However, once you get that Pure800 it's game over, bye bye GTR.
Yeah the Supra will need some work to match the top end. But I think I can bump up the GTR to do better in low end
I knew the gtr would win it. In a straight line horsepower is KING. The A90 did surprise me on the initial acceleration still though nothing to laugh at for sure. Awesome awesome cars man

Race at the same speed with the GTR in it's preferred gear and I think the results will be a bit different. That's a huge handicap to the GTR by basically bogging it.

Which one would you recommend getting first?
I would like to own both but I am not sure which one to get first.
Depends on your price range. The GTR all day long is a better car and more fun. It's twice the car and is a real supercar! The Supra does have a much more refined ride wit better tech and is great for a lot of miles. If I had to sell one, it'd be the Supra. GTR's hold their value and have been increasing in price on the used market. Surpa's depreciate a bit. If you can afford a GTR go for it! But if you want something newer with better tech and a much different type of drive, go for the Supra. Can't go wrong wither way
Did you use anti lag at all on the gtr? I think anti lag would come in clutch here to keep up with the supra below 100 mph.
Did not. Might do another run at 30. With the GTR in 2nd this time with ant lag. That’ll be interesting!

Sold C8? What did he replace with? GTR vs Supra ... which one is the better daily?
Mike is getting a Wrangler instead of the C8, but will get another Audi R8 as his sportscar when the time is right. Supra is a better daily since it is easier to drive, more comfortable and more tech. But the GTR has more space. I drive the Supra more for my daily use. GTR is a weekend toy for the most part
I feel like if you were to do that rolling launch control thing in the GTR you did a little while back, the GTR would smoke the Supra maybe, since there be no turbo lag 🤔

My GT-R is gone stock and if I was gonna race a FBO GT-R and I knew he was gonna start at 30 in 3rd, I'd put some steaks on the line if you know what I mean. Lol.

Stick with recirc. The tuning is designed for that. And it’ll give you better response

The stock turbo is pretty much pumping as much HP as it can right now on 93. If I do meth injection or an E blend fuel I think I can get above 500 WHP. But after that I'll need a bigger turbo to push more air.

That Supra is the best bang for the buck, you can pick one up now for low-mid 40s barely used and with a couple grand in mods, it's a high 10's low 11s car all day long. I am very impressed with how well they respond to mods and how stout that B58 is, i raced a tuned/DP'ed Supra and i barely edged it. My car has twice the displacement, twice the amount of turbos, and twice the amount of cylinders too.
Yeah after tuning it, the Supra is a completely different car!! I really like it now and put it right with the GTR for fun factor!

just wondering, I've heard that the Z4 inline 6 has a tendency to blow up at 30-35,000Km (or 18-21,000 miles) what is your experience with it?
Well I’m at 5k. So no clue 😅. These seem pretty strong. So I’m really not too worried
This is a first for me since many B58s roll straight past 30k or 50k+ with no problems whatsoever. Probably didn't do their oil changes I guess.

It's more than likely someone who hates BMWs will say that. Plenty of B58s running around out there well over 80k and still on the original powertrain.

Well after watching plenty of mkv street race,yours at high 400 is actually in medium-fast supra... But knowing that just make me suprised how strong the gtr is,it walks away when it reach powerband.. In street racing you will lost every pulls againts the gtr.. Need to add another hundred to really2 match that gtr top end grunt. Supra is more usable,gtr is way more powerfull. Wish i live nearby,would love to have a feel of both cars. Thumbs up for you man

For the cost of a Supra and the cost to tune it to the GTR price level it will destroy whatever you want. GTR is amazing though but its quite expensive... In my opinion you can enjoy more of the Supra with its tuning capability

Supra needs some better tires for sure to get better traction. But it'll also need a turbo and E85 to come close. My GTR is now on E85 and it's even faster!

But seriously, the amount of times I hit over 100 mph is very rare. Normal driving even on the highway. It just doesnt happen. I doubt you own a fast car, so you probably don't understand that ppl with fast cars don't go crazy fast 100% of the time. Most driving is going to be under 100. And to have a car that feels soooo fast in the majority of the driving, is awesome!
I wonder if the tuner has any magic to make the Supra pull harder in the top end :/
yeah, just have to get a good custom tune done.. but that'll have to take some time and leaving it with the tuner to work on it.
This is about it for the turbo and fuel. Can only push so much air. E blend or bigger turbo would get me there tho

Supra MKV a downpipe,intake,meth injection few bolt ons and a tune bye bye gtr , not to mention supra is way lighter better zf 8 speed transmission with inline 6 engine way more engine room way easier to modify.
V6 is too big for that small engine bay of gtr

GTR should have been in 2nd gear at 30mph...not in 3rd. Also the first race, it didn't take "quite a some time" for the GTR to catch the Supra. The Supra only pulled like half a car length before the GTR said "bye bye".

Modded sure. But stock for stock, the GTR destroys the Supra. Even mod for mod...I bet you if you set up a proper race next time, the GTR pulls 10 times out of 10. But if you are comparing a full bolt on, pure 800, tune and e85 Supra to a GTR with basic bolt ons, the Supra wins.

Enjoy the channel, to me the GTR is faster that said the supra it’s pretty impressive and in my opinion is a much better buy as far as money goes and again in my opinion it’s a way better looking car by far inside and out. Don’t get me wrong I like how the GTR looks my buddy has a 2009 same color as yours when he bought it it was a alpha nine and then about $100,000 later it’s over 1400 hp and crazy fast it’s so fast it actually hurts when you riding in it. He breaks it all the time and every time it needs to be fixed he ends up doing some crazy expensive upgrade i’m glad you have chosen not to do that because I don’t think I could watch someone do that again. Keep the videos coming I’ll keep watching have a good one👍

I live in Michigan I’ve seen now at least 10 C8s 2new broncos but not one supra on the road. I went over one at the dealership really really like that car going to get one holding out for a manual will see used to have an 88 love that car keep the videos coming stay safe👍
