👁 About this video : I have owned my 2014 Nissan GTR for 3 years. It was a dream car of mine for many years and I seriously love owning the R35 GT-R! Absolutely one of the best supercars to own! My R35 GTR has 700 horsepower and is full bolt ons running E85! After 3 years owning the GT-R I really only have one complaint. The reverse beep is still so annoying!! It is loud and piercing and just stupid. Makes no sense and was only on a few model year R35 cars. The other items are odd things with the GTR that some owners may hate about it and can certainly be big enough issues to not want to buy a Nissan GTR. The transmission makes a lot of noises and sound very bad half the time. It doesn't always makes noises, but from time to time you'll hear rattles. There is also a lot of drivetrain slop in slow speeds. It's annoying to drive in bumper to bumper traffic and gets old around town. OEM brake pads squeal like crazy! So swapping to a road use pad helps a ton. Lastly the heated seat button is in a bad place and you won't know if the passenger seat button is off unless you climb over and look. Minor annoyance during the winter. Overall tho, the R35 GTR is an amazing car to own and even with the minor downfalls, it's the best car I've ever owned!

The transmission is exactly as you described. The delay from reverse to drive and the rattle when you slowly moving forward from complete stop or slow rolling, I thought that was a problem. Hearing it from your GTR makes me feel better hahaha XD

I recently drove an 09' and felt the transmission engage at a complete stop the exact way you explained it. I really thought something was wrong with the car! Then after hitting the highway and feeling that everything was good while shifting, I realized that's just how the car is! Again, thanks so much for all you do!!!!

@@BrosFOURRSpeed I haven't made the purchase just yet. But hope to in the near future. What's funny is I drove my Lexus to the test drive and that was a complete mistake. The Lexus is so refined and smooth and when I drove the GT-R I was like, holy crap what a HUGE difference. I would suggest to everyone out there, don't drive a smooth riding car before you drive a GT-R! But, I did appreciate the Lexus a whole hell of a lot more after the test drive!
@@larocmedia hahah that's too funny!! Yeah not many cars can prepare you for a GTR! But once you get one you'll love the raw aspects! Really makes it a special car. But keep the Lexus around so you can take a break from time to time for the GTR ;)
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I have kept the Lexus and am now the very proud owner of a 09' GT-R!!! Super Silver, 35k, One Owner and 100% Stock!!!! Ohh and NO ANNOYING BEEPING when putting the car in reverse. I suppose the previous owner didn't like it and removed it! :)
2017 is a bit better for transmission but still shifts too soon and clunky when engine cold. Drives me nuts the car will upshift when I’m coasting go a stop sign.
You might want to do a different tune for the trans. I did the LC5 Cobb Optimized Shifting map. I really like it!

You just save me from stressful days. I just purchased my 2014 gtr and exact same noise makes my car. Now I know that these are normal clunky noise. Thanks again for explaining.
haha nice! I've now owned this car nearly 5 years. Still makes the same sounds. But even now pushing 700 HP, the car has been rock solid! Love it!
As a gtr owner this video is spot on. I don’t have the reverse beeping problem since mine is not a 2014, but it bothers some people more than others, my guess is that it has to do with safety and being aware that you are in reverse since it’s a high powered car. Must’ve been a safety thing for that year. But I wouldn’t trade this car for anything else unless it’s for a newer model. Love the gtr

The stock Bose audio should be on this list as well. Hate it! Everything else is pretty spot on.

TLDW: There's nothing wrong with GTR's.
No car is perfect. GTR has it's flaws for sure. But is still obviously an amazing car and I love it. But there are downfalls

There's a kit to remove the beeping. Carkitcompany they have a great product. You can get a remote start and reverse beep delete kit at the same time and its a plug n play, really clean kit. Highly recommend!

Yeah it’s an amazing car! Eventually when I swap for a newer one at least that’ll be gone!

@@danafokinwhite9816 It's been no different then my Nissan 370z, an oil change a year and that's about it. I hardly spend anything on maintenance aside from oil changes.
The heated seat thing is so funny cause the 350z has it in the center divider lol
Yeah I really liked those buttons on the inside of the seat with my 370z. Don't like them on the outsides lol
Great video Brian. I think the bell housing noise would be #1 on my list. But since it is supposed to sound like that, I guess I’d get used to it. I googled a 2021 GTR just to see the style changes, they still look pretty much like yours. I know you love your model. It’s easy to see why. Great car! Motor on boss! 🏎
Yeah all the drivetrain noises you get used to. Just adds character to the car. 2017 is when they did some major changes. And 2021 is the same as that car pretty much. In a few years it'll fun to upgrade!

My ‘11 gtr has that reverse beeping noise, actually saved me a couple of times not knowing I put it in reverse

Bought a 2015 for that very reason. No beeping in reverse. Mine does have some bell housing rattle. And good grief the drive system is noisy. Brakes are crazy noisy,create lots of dust and are the first thing I changed. The pads rattle until you put the second clips in. I gotta say that I knew exactly what to expect from watching your videos! Godzilla vs.....everybody. Lol.

If you ever consider of getting rid of the beeping please do a video. I plan on getting rid of it in the future.

If the beeping were audible outside the car, I'd figure it was for alerting others in the paddock at a track. With a helmet and HANS, it's hard to see anything other than what's in front of you, so if someone were backing out of a spot outside of your field of view, you could be alerted.

No! That's too much money for some cosmetics and a little more power! You're basically paying for suspension, the carbon fiber and a few more things that I don't see the value in! I'm looking for a 2017 or newer, similar spec to mine!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed honestly since sega gt 2002 that game introduced mw to cars i dident even know exsisted ran the tommy evo and one day i checked out the skyline and fell in love with it and i learned some good facts from your videos on the gtr and my self am looking at paying for one in full and id leave it stock :) i like the look of the gtr as it is in stock form
Interesting.. the reverse beep makes no sense. It's not like your backing to a loading dock or something... The transmission noises remind me of back in '05 when I bought a new g35 sedan that was a 6sp man.. Bellhousing noises were similar when you sit idling in neutral then a different noise would start when you take your foot off the clutch. Weird i know... Great video!!!
Yeah the beeping makes no sense! My 370z made some trans noise too. Clutch rattled a bit.

I'd seen some anti slip lucas oil for transmissions. UA-cam won't let folks attach a link. They have other specialized transmission oils.
Interesting. But nothing is slipping in the transmission. The gears are just designs to have slop in them at slow speeds, that way they are perfect under pressure.

Greatly extends transmission life and fluid life in truck and passenger car use. A real money-saver." This is their sem-sythetic product.
Oh that's pretty cool. About 5k miles ago I had all the diff and trans oil swapped out to Motul. So I know my fluids are in check!

If you can fun the 2017, go for it! But they are a massive price increase compared to older models. Can't go wrong with any GTR in your budget! Fantastic car!

I just bought a new GTR today bro and all these noises r weird as fuck lol video made me feel better so I appreciate it!! Came from a M5Comp and that was so quiet n smooth... this thing is the opposite but I love it so far for sure
Yeah you'll get used to it! Owned this for 5.5 years and never had a problem with it. So it's a just a noisy car lol
There is an aftermarket fix for the rear beep? Have you tried it?
There is one fix. But it involves a lot of wires and cutting original stuff. It's all integrated into the computer under the dash. SO there is no easy fix. I tried to look under there and find the speaker. I wanted to at least muffle it. But I could pin point where the sound comes from
Nice video! Can't stand rolling up to a red light in a badass car with breaks squealing! Haha. Also learned a lot about transmissions when I bought mine, on account of noise paranoia. But once you adjust it's a dope car. What kind of wheels are those? Love em.

What is the warning light on the dash.
TPMS. Every winter it always comes on. The sensors are so picky it’ll throw a light even if it drops like .5 psi. So I just leave it like that in the winter.

That reverse beep can be heard when you rolled the windows down with the camera outside. Can imagine how loud it must be on the inside 😂
It must beep faster when you approach a wall right to warn that there is an obstacle behind?
haha yeah! It's sooooo annoying! It's a very piercing noice and bothers my ears a bit to be honest. There are no parking sensors on my car, they started that for the 2017 model year. So they have nothing to do with proximity to object. It just beeps when in reverse for no reason ;)

Dealer should be able to turn the beeping off. Prius do that too but can be turned off
I'm sure they can. Not sure how much they would charge. I know the Nissan dealer loves overcharging for GTR owners. So we'll see
That beeping in reverse would drive me up an oak tree! Maybe you'll find a way to get rid of that just like you mentioned. No matter if you think a car is the best thing since sliced bread, there's not one that is perfect and that's the sad reality.
Very true! Every car has drawbacks! I might find the speaker and just try and muffle it or something. If it wasn't piercing loud, I wouldn't be too annoyed. But its a sharp sound

I hear the reverse beeping tone in my sleep, aftermarket parts prices are insane. Otherwise, zero buyer's remorse.
Haha yeah that beep is the worst part of the car! Parts aren't too bad to be honest. Check out AAM Competition. You can do a lot with their parts and my car has been amazing with them!
Do you think it would be possible to relocate the reverse beeping speaker to the exterior of the car? It would definitely be more useful to let other drivers and pedestrians know you’re backing up than yourself 🥲
I could probably extend the wires. But it’s not loud enough for other cars to hear tho if it was on the outside

I don't think so. I've seen a wiring module that can eliminate it. But I'd have to cut up some wires. I might just find the speaker and muffle it somehow. Havent got around to that yet tho lol
How long did it take you to get use to the red interior?
I absolutely love red interiors. So there was nothing to get used to. I still love looking around and seeing the red leather. Next GTR will have to be the same spec!

Thanks for the video! All valid issues, even though some are minor. Question, I noticed that you had a check engine light on...was that just due to the tire pressure light being on as well?
Yeah that wasn't the check engine light. The warning triangle lights up if anything pops up. TPMS is very finicky so even when one tire is half a PSI low, the tire light pops up

Did Nissan make upgrades to the 2014? Contact Nissan to see if they made any changes for the transmission.
2014 is an updated transmission and is much stronger then before. But all first gen R35 cars have a very noise transmission. 2017+ it's much quieter
I have the same exact problem with my evo x regarding the squeaking brake pads. It drives me nuts! I don't get how they can make a sports car come OEM with squeaky brakes regardless if it's a performance car or not lol. I definitely feel embarrass whenever it squeaks.
Yeah it was sooo annoying! Check out PosiQuiet! Its been over two years with mine and now they are barely staring to make noise. So might need to replace them. But been great!
At 4:55, looks like you need to replace your rotors because I see the lip. Can you do a video on how to replace your rotors and pads?
Yeah they have a bit of a lip. They had some grooves in it for a while, but they have smoothed out over the last year. So I think they will last a few more years. We'll see. If I swap them I'll make a vid
Coming from a wrx, I'll certainly adapt to those imperfections. The engineering and aesthetics supersede.

No Eco Mode. But the 'Save' mode is very slow feeling. It really delays throttle response in the car
I'm pretty sure you can turn off the reverse beep at the dealership
Yeah they can probably code it out. I can ask them one day, but the dealer like to rip off GTR owners. So I don't really trust them

I have a 2009 GTR 1400 horsepower I have never once have never once had a problem with this car I have never ever had anything go wrong. It's a daily driver on the street only I don't drag racist I don't launch it because when you launch it that means you're an idiot and you don't realize how much damage you will do to the engine drive train and rear end.. I have several friends that have GT r's they have never never never once had any problem with them the reverse issue is just to let you know the car is in reverse God that must be horrible to have to listen to buthe listen to but it gives you something to b**** about because that's what you are it's a little b****.. I think what you should do because personal you can't even afford to have this car you have to finance it I never heard anything so stupid in my life but you financed it and you should just get rid of it and then buy a some kind of prius or I don't know maybe a little BMW BMW that might be more your speed you you're speed you complain too much about nothing..
Haha wow what a comment! First off your grammar and lack of punctuation is awful. Very hard to read your comment. The reverse beeps are only in a few model years. I think 2013, 14 and 15. It is annoying and pointless. I did pay this car off in 4 years. And while owning it bought a Supra. So clearly I could afford it. Financing a car is a good way to build credit and smarter way to write the car off for business use. I’m sure you don’t know much about that. Why dump full price in one year. Can only write off $20k per year on a car like this. I’ve never had an issue with my car either. It’s been perfectly reliable. Just pointing out some things with the car. Certainly a raw car compared to other sportscars. Launching the car doesn’t mean you’re an idiot. It’s fun to do every now and then. Part of the point in having this car. If you actually own a 1400 hp GTR and never go race it. What’s the point?

Isn’t the bell housing issue fixed in the 2017+ model years?
Technically there is no bell housing issue, but the 2017 and up don't make as much noise. Much quieter and refined.

Yeah tight turns in reverse are very hard to do! So much drivetrain noise. Sounds like the rear end is exploding! And yeah.. the beeps are sooo stupid! lol

Yeah the GTR makes a lot of drivetrain noise. Just part of the character. But something can still be wont, it might be harder to tell tho

I’ve seen a wiring kit. But it looks like a lot of work for what it is. Not sure I trust ripping out the stock wires. May try and muffle the speaker or something

is it normal for the trans to stall?? friend had his stalled after whipping it up some backroads and the car shut off when coming to a stop at the end. The dash went up like a christmas tree. But he said its fine after a restart
Hmm. That really shouldn't happen. Every now and then when you accelerate from a stand still, it might sound like it'll stall. But it's always far from that happening. I think 1 time the angle of the ground made it start weird and it almost did. But there could be something up with his if it did that. Or just a weird fluke lol

oh well be happy you didn't buy a C7 Z06, you'd be a part of the class action lawsuit suing GM for overheating and the owners want their money back, a judge has agreed with them and the trial will proceed. Guess those guys with C8 dreams might NOT want to get a Z06 when and IF Chevy actually make it, especially since they couldn't fix the issue on the C7. Sorry to hear about the beeping my CBA doesn't have it as you noted so that's something I guess I should be thankful for. :)

It just sounded like some of the noises the gtr made not like something is wrong just odd sound lol but he needs a real exhheats for it tbh he just did a muffler delete and I feel that's not good for the car cuz it needs a tune probably
