    As you might remember my GT-R is 750+ on 93 and 825 WHP on 72% ethanol. I did change my 4" mid pipe and Greddy TI exhaust for a 3.5" mid pipe and a HKS LegalMax to get rid of my horrid drone. Sounds better and I can hear my radio now. Still making the same power which was surprising. It's getting a new tune and hopefully a backup camera over the winter. It's already got a larger AMS intercooler, 3" AMS intakes, injectors, turbos, flex fuel, Speed density conversion, TiAl blow off valves, and EcuTek tune.
    My AWD Q50 Red Sport seems to be running OK, but I hope to trade it in on a 2023 GR Carolla Circuit Edition. I put a deposit on it, and if the dealership gets one, I'll be all set with a 300 HP AWD 6 speed standard transmission rally car. It will be an absolute blast on the VT dirt roads. That, my GT-R, and I'll be all set.
    Thanks for continuing to make your GT-R content videos. The car you should keep. I chose to stop at the point where I would need to build both my motor and transmission. I'm TQ limited at around 650ish ft lbs. Going to 1100 or 1400 WHP will cost big $ with not much between the two as both need the motor and tranny rebuilt. For the few minutes I'd use the extra power a year, it's not worth it to me.

    i wouldnt use the Cobb Accessport anymore since they went emission complaint this year and you cant tune for catless exhaust anymore, the move now is using Ecutek which is pretty much the same but actually better when it comes to tuning , the kit its about $1000 then depeding on the tuner it can go from 500-700 for a custom FBO E85 map, in a few months im going to switch from cobb to ecutek since i need to revise my cobb map and i cant with the new laws

    First it is expensive to mod the gtr! Not cheap unless you use cheap parts which I highly suggest against. Significantly higher than domestics. Second Ecutek is better than Cobb and easier to use.

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  2 роки тому +3

      How is it expensive to modify a GTR when $5k makes this kind of power? I have mostly all AAM parts and they work perfectly. Lots of other brands are similar money. Don't need to go the super expensive brands for bolt ons. Cobb and EcuTek are owned by the same company. And with the same tuner, you can get identical results. It's the tuner, not the software. My car runs perfect and is super easy to do, and cost effective. More money doesnt mean better

    I honestly had zero idea how a flex fuel system worked. I didn't realize it was that simple. My smooth chimp brain always thought it was installing an entirely separate fuel system into the car. Had no idea it was, plug in few sensors and then just run whatever fuel lol.

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  Рік тому +1

      lol yeah it was easy! Just a flex fuel sensor that goes inline with one fuel line under the hood. And it plugs into the fuel sensor. From there the tune on the car gets updated and adjusts the tuning according to the fuel it's reading. It was a fun project to install on the GTR!

    I rebuilt my 16 gtr after it was totaled. I think 5 things are fairly important. 1) oil catch can, mine was ~65k miles before a severe damage, and the intake manifold and intercoolers were already horribly bad. I can imagine how bad the turbo is. So an oil catch can would be good for the turbo and intercooler. I got a fairly cheap one for some 50 bucks with some hardware from home depot and some pcv pipes from o reilly. 2) intercooler, the stock one is a two-piece setup, i changed to a single unit. it improved the turbo response significantly. 3) radiator, why not if i need to get one anyway. 4) oil cooler, same to the radiator, why not an aftermarket one. the stock one is insane expansive anyway - 10k i recall, and two lines are somewhere 1.5k each. 5) an extra transmission fluid cooler. it requires some modifications, but i think it's worth the effort. the stock transmission is easy to overheat with the stock heat exchanger. i can easily make mine reach around 200F on highway even during this winter season.
    other than that, i spent a little bit money on the silicone coolant pipes, aluminum coolant tank, headlights (broken anyway).
    i recall only the ams intercooler and the transmission fluid cooler were a little bit expansive, somewhere 1.5k and 2k respectively. others were fairly inexpensive.
    but i think my motivation is different than yours. except for the intercooler, my mods mainly focused on the reliability of the car for another 2x65k miles.

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  Рік тому

      Yeah not bad. I did do a new intercooler eventually. Owned this car till 50k and never had an issue. Been at 700 HP for many years running strong. Oil catch cans would have been good for sure

    Stay fbo because Bigger turbos are going to run you 30k. Built motor is going to run you 60k+.

      @@BrosFOURRSpeed oh my bad. This was my first time seeing a video from you. I could tell in the comments when you used words like “was, had” lol. Would you buy the car again if given the opportunity?

    Never take advise from someone that uses the words "stage 3" or "cobb" 😂😂😂

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  Місяць тому

      Why? Cobb has their tunes in stages. That's just how they do it. You can build your GTR up following Cobbs pre made 'staged' tunes. It's a very easy and cost effective way to modify these cars for reliable power gains. Do you even own an R35?

  • @tryingtolearn2831
    @tryingtolearn2831 Рік тому

    so what youre saying is all these people charging extreme amounts for their car cause its "FBO" is full of shit... so a fbo 2013 gtr with low miles should be around 65-70k

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  Рік тому

      Not nesesarly. Depends on the buyer. If someone literally plans to do all the mods and go FBO, for that kind of buyer it might make more sense paying a bit more for a FBO GTR. For someone who plans to just do a few basic things, they won't value the mods as much. So it depends on the buyer. I have my GTR for sale right now. Current value is about $79k. I had it up for sale at $87k with all the mods. Didn't sell so I parted it out and got a lot for everything and now its for sale at $79k. Either way if it sells now, with the money I got from the parts I still got my $87k out of it. So all depends on the buyer and what people want

      Yeah back when I filmed this the Cobb was fantastic. Loved all the maps and tunes I was easily able to do with the car every time I added a new performance part.

    All these tune talks are meaningless unless you mention the boost increase and dyno power graphs for each tune. Intake and exhaust upgrades are no brainer.

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  4 місяці тому

      I never did dyno the car to know the exact gains. But when I just had 2.75in intakes and a basic tune, the car was much quicker then bone stock. Adding 3in intakes a mid pipe and the updated tune drastically added more power. Then fuel injectors and downpipes made it even faster. Never had access to a dyno, but these cars get tuned so well, with a good remote tuner like what I did you'll see the same gains they see on all the cars they do
