      just need 690 adv with stock fairing/screen, LR tanks again, and luggage rack. complete off showroom floor. already lightweight. already has adv electronics.

    Sooo there’s a 790, 890 base and 890 adventure r? I think they should of developed the 690 enduro and thrown a rally tower on there instead of another new middleweight.

      @@cuddleman quite wrong. If they offered a 701, especially a LR, with stock fairing/screen and luggage rack it would be sold out. 690/701 is the biggest most riders really need. More than enough power offroad and 690/701 already has adv bike electronics like cornering abs/tc. Look at how well the 701 svartpilen sells. It's a great single cylinder road bike.

      @@cuddleman People want to buy a bike complete off showroom floor not add accessories to expensive bike. Otherwise just start with cheaper Japanese bike. You can buy passenger footpegs and it is fine on interstate. 130mph top speed. Less weight is priority which is why I think 701 is good platform.

    7500 km so far on the new KTM 790 Adventure and absolutely love it !!!
    It’s very comfortable for all types of riding: 800 km highway in a day, short trips to the bakery, mountain twisties, dirt roads, …
    More than enough torque and power, perfect clutch, excellent brakes, agile, super stable, excellent suspension and excellent tyres. Driving behaviour is fantastic, it is easy to ride and you always feel like you’re in total control. It likes fast cornering and playfull riding with a nice roar if you want to, as well as calm cruising with a sweet humming sound. With the (optional) windscreen spoiler the wind protection is excellent. Very good (optional) panniers with a lot of space make it very suitable for travelling. The TFT display is fantastic and the excellent switch gear guides you through the user friendly interface with ease. This motorcycle also has tons of very useful electronic safety features (with optional MSR). Vision at night with the (optional) auxiliary lights is very good. Excellent rear view mirrors. The (optional) cruise control is perfect.
    I am quite new at motorcycle riding (started on 125 cc Fantic Caballero Scrambler in april 2024) and I gained quite a lot of experience in a short time: 7500 km on the scrambler in ten months, motorcycle riding school on Yamaha MT07, 7500 km on the KTM in the past five months and occasional test rides (Triumph 400x, Honda CB500, HD Road Glide).
    This motorcycle is certainly the best (for me anyway, everbody is different) I have experienced so far.

      i have red on forums lots of people had problems with new 890 too, screen flickering, start problems, water inn TFT, water in blinkers etc..

    Another totally Chinese bike like the 890r I bought with substandard parts and lots of qc issues and no replacement parts after 7 months waiting. Give it two years and the Chinese will give you more reliable clones at half the price of ktm money

      Facts! On of my mates got a 890 Adventure and it broke down on his first ride. The injection was kinda abrupt and then it died...the clock wrote total kilometers: 74!!!!

    I love my 790 adv and this new model inspires me a lot. Keeping mine or changing it will all depend on the price, otherwise the Yamaha Tenere 700 calls.

      I’m shopping, why buy the T7 when after suspension upgrades and crash protection the prices would be comparable? I would have bought the Tuareg despite living far from an Aprilia dealership but the 790 adv is the only bike in the middle weight class to offer lean sensitive TC and ABS and whatever I buy is gonna be my commuter after I sell my current bike. Love to hear what you think

      To continue, the reason I’ve avoided the 790 as a choice was my stigma against the KTM brand and the aesthetics. The reimagined front end IG gorgeous, and there’s a lot mountainous terrain where I live with service roads and trails. I have a first Gen FZ-09 and know what poopy bumpy 1st Gen yamaha suspension is like, and I don’t want that again with the T7. Thanks!

      @@yeetmeisterinternational919 I know that the first Aprilia 660 engines had problems with the connecting rods so I don't trust Aprilia much even though it's still a fun bike. on second thought, the Tenere 700 compared to the ktm 790 has much less horsepower and less torque, moreover it is more demanding off-road due to the higher center of gravity. Browsing the web I found adjustable MISANO forks at 500 euros and ohlins monoshock at about 1000 euros. Considering the price of a 790 M.Y. 2023 with tech pack it would reach 13500 euros by installing aftermarket forks and shock absorber. I was incredulous when I read the price of the ktm 790 2023 so it will be the ideal replacement for my current 790 2021

    I am not shifting to KTM here in India because there is a severe spare parts shortage in India. My friends are having to wait 15 days for basic things like brake pads, airfilters and chain sprockets.

    Just read the full press release: yeah. Made in China. All ethical issues aside, they'll be nuts if they try to price this bike anywhere near the rest of their fleet. This would have to be significantly cheaper than the (list) price of a Tenere 700 to make it even remotely worth the gamble on quality/reliability.

      Since I didn't see any parts falling off or wobbling, and there was definitely no audible Clacking from the suspension bottoming out on the tarmac, I doubt it'll be in the same league at the Tenere.🤣

      Which ethical issues? Everyone is producing everything there... I do agree on the price point though, but knowing KTM if 890 Adv is around 13K (in my neck of the woods), this one is going to be 11K. 8-9K would be fair.

      You mean the 890 ADV R, right? Cause there is a 890 ADV and the only difference I can see between the 790 ADV and 890 ADV is the engine. Everything else seems to be the same.

      Also stating open that the production will be done by CFMoto will do the marketing trick.

    Wanted the yamaha 700 tenere...lack of yamaha keeping up with demand, led me to this bike. Waiting for the 2023 modle bike is way safer and more powerful, what's not to love? -the price lol fn outch!

      Had the1090r and got the 890r. This is a easier bike due to lower centre of gravity, but a totally Chinese bike with substandard parts and lots of qc issues. The tlt screen packed up after a week and 7 months later have still not got the replacement part

    So we”ll get 790 and 890 at the same time it seems. From my observation, 890 adv only have sticker on the side panel while 790 adv got 790 written on the panel.

      There’s an updated 890 Adventure R, an updated 890 Adventure standard, AND an updated and revised 790 Adventure. Plus the 1290s! 😳

      @@urbanadventurer5 I feel like 890/790 standard is pretty enough for most of us since R versions are too much offroad biased for 95% of us 😂

    I'm confused! 890, 790... is the engine New?
    Bevor i thought, the Norden 901 is a 890 clone. Now i think the New 790 is a clone of the Norden!
    Anyway the New 790 looks much better!

    Still no 490. A company shows its plans to build one, the shuts up and doesnt even bother to show up to the biggest motorcycle show in the world. Yep, lost a KTM fan in me. Went to the Dealer that took a downpayment for the(never being built) ktm 490 adventure...now my money will go to honda.

    if the cfmoto 800mt sales brought back the 790 adventure i hope to god that ktm keep the price tag about the same as the cfmoto 800mt
    ($14,500 AUD)
    if KTM dont keep the price low like the cfoto 800mt it will die again because everyone will just buy the cfmoto since its the same engine but is cheaper and still has heated seats grips tire pressure monitors cruise control and everything except traction control.
    apparently the KTM 790 adventure will get traction control but thats no reason to give it a high price so i guess we will see if KTM keeps it low...

    Ducati, Triumph, BMW all the players are launching their premium ADV bikes in the Indian market, why not KTM...😡😡😡😡😡
    I HAVE BEEN RIDING THE RC390 SINCE 2014, BUT THERE NOTHING TO UPGRADE IN KTM's INDIA LINE UP...THATS A FCUKIN DISASTER...😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

      They now make three middleweight ADV bikes. A 890 R, a base 890, and a 790.

    quit dancing with KTM, just bring the 990 back to production, with hydraulic clutch and brembos and wheel that will handle a 500lb monster. the days of catering to the girly men need to quit. 690 or 990 is all you need!
