S&W and Colt are still kicking. What are you talking about? The metallurgy of the modern S&W and Colt are utterly superior to that of their old offerings prior to the 90s. Fit & finish are not the same and will never be of the same level of the old guns, trigger pull is still considerably smooth but is not the same, but the performance and general quality have gone up by a lot.

The dimensions of the frame are between a frame K and L, the top strap instead is larger than a frame N
