I'll be honest I just listened to your podcast for the first time and have subscribed. The thing I'm seeing is that second hit the heel hit you barely swung because of your back and still generated 90+mph club head speed. I game the Cobra Radspeed driver the milled face leaves a ball mark so I can see on the course where I'm hitting the face. This is the third podcast I'm seeing good job my friend.
Great focus and consistency on useful lessons for handicap golfers of all ages. My golf has improved enormously with your guidance Danny. Thanks a million.
Super simple video, being more efficient with your strike will have a massive bearing in the distance you hit. The fact in your video you are swinging it at such a swing speed is very comparable to most golfers who are striving for more distance and speed.
If you remember watching Jack Nicklaus play, he would regularly tilt his head so that his left eye was looking at the ball, while his right eye moved away from it. Exactly what you are demonstrating at 6:26 This is one of your best instructional sessions I have seen. Great job teaching.
This is the best video I have seen on how to improve length on a driver. As usual, Danny makes it so simple with tuition that keeps your mind uncluttered and distils it down to 3 easy to implement steps. Danny really explains the dynamics in such a simple way that it makes you think, "Why has noone explained it like this before?". Great stuff.
@@bernardduffy3300 Thanks, Bernard. I just think Danny is a brilliant coach. His lessons are just the right length and he is a very engaging person. So few coaches explain "why" which makes it so much easier to learn "how". I don't watch any other coach than him now. Happy golfing.
Still shin deep in snow in Northern Michigan. However, when Spring arrives and I am able to see the grass again, I will be more conscious of head position and loft. As a 73-year old, I imagine allowing my head to move a bit may contribute to a better swing path. Thank you. You are a tremendous resource for those of us who are visual and tactile learners.
Wow Danny! That tip of turning your head away from the ball in the set up is a game changer! Tried it yesterday and nearly all my drives hit the fairway and went further! I almost broke 90 for the first time ever.
My driving is consistent except every now and then I will pull & sky a shot and I never could figure out what I had done - until just now. You mention in the 2nd area that it is important to slightly hold your head back and to keep it there through the swing. If one doesn't then they steepen their swing and sky the ball....so that's what I do! Thanks so muck Danny as I haven't been able to diagnose that one!
Top class as ever. It just makes so much common sense due to your explanation Just tried it in the net and it really works Hope I can take it onto the course
This is no B.S. but the way you explain different things in your videos is phenomenal. There has been numerous golf instruction I've heard but never fully understood. But man the way you describe things is top notch. The one that really made the light bulb go off was the video where you were teaching your wife the proper golf swing with the volleyball. Awesome stuff!
Great as ever Danny. The tip about head/eye view when downswinging with the driver is excellent. The movement of the hands to produce top spin is also brilliant.
Great tips but it is impossible to generate top spin. If you would really "top spin" a golf ball it would never fly. The main thing he wants is to reduce spin loft.
Also I find the image of tennis top spin makes me inclined to roll my club face ue hands over the ball when I make contact.. I presume this isn't right?
Danny I found this very useful with regards to not adding loft, but could you please expand further on “adding the snap” to show how this correctly translates into releasing the club, I think covering this aspect in more detail would be very helpful to many of us who struggle with correctly releasing the club as we impact the ball. Thanks for your ongoing guidance as we all try to improve our game.
This was a game changer for me.. going slower also stopped vending my arm too soon. By knowing where I hit, I realized that teeing it up a bit helped a ton. Amazing
I have so enjoyed watching all your videos over time and to be 11 handicapper after being a 22 handicapper feels great , isn’t it amazing how things creep back in, thanks for the refresher Danny. 🤯👍🏼👏
Danny your video lessons are incredible! I really enjoy all the videos for senior golfers. I can't wait to try the things I've learned from you. Thank you!!!
I had a chance to use these tips at a simulator. I could feel that my driver wasn't getting good distance, and this video brought 20-30 yards added distance. Just simply slightly changing my alignment and using the shoulder slant, I could see immediate results. Also helped my 3 wood. And the explanation for why I would sometimes pop the ball up was spot on!
First class explanation I started to play golf about a year ago and ( later in life) and watched a lot of youtube videos, but can't wait to go to the driving range to practice this as it's the best explanation I have seen. Many thanks
Thanks Danny. Lots of things to practice once I can get back on the golf course. The whole course is still unplayable after the floods we have had and guess at the earliest 2 more weeks. Considering Bribie Island golf course is built on sand you can imagine how much rain.
I’ve applied the principle of looking at the ball with my left eye when I’m hitting my fairway woods and the impact is amazing. I just have to remember to do it.
I really liked the advice where to look when striking the ball. I just noticed yesterday that when I kept my hand looking just behind the ball at contact I had a better launch.

Hi Charles, I would love to say we could make great golf permanent but no one has been able to figure that out yet. Not even the greats like Tiger Woods. The key is to be able to understand what you are doing wrong as quick as possible and fix it so bad shots don’t persist. The best players are able to do this

Great video and much appreciated. I must admit though that it's hard to believe that the last two shots registered 230 and 250 yards with so little effort.
I agree. I can't understand how anyone can hit a ball 211 yds with such a small swing only getting he ball to travel 86mph. I would love to know what spin numbers Danny got.
@@larrymatrale1368 Think of it like throwing a ball 20 metres or so. Danny, thanks for the great , excellent details for increase of driver distance... Hope I can do better with my driver....I am still hitting my wood almost the same distance as the driver.
Just spent 2 hours at the range with a tin of foot spray, my only aim was to hit the centre of the club face, my tempo improved ,my swing improved and I gained yardage with little or no effort, thank you.
Wow, every once and a while I would hit a good drive and have the feelings you described but I didn't understand why it worked. Now I can work on getting that feeling on purpose!

Thanks Danny another very informative lesson. The head thing I found particularly useful as I think I move my head towards the target. I am down the range this week! Take care and thanks again
Great lesson as always, I'm very amazed how you can generated so much speed with such a smooth swing. I'm struggling to generate speed pass 85 mph no matter how hard I try to hit it 🙄
I fought a slice for a long time, and finally fixed it. I turned the slice into a slight fade with driver and lived there for a few months hitting around 250-260yd drives, but something happened and I started hitting a draw, it was slightly longer but it took me a few rounds to fix my aim. After living there for a little while I started to hit this low line drive sort of start left hook left shot that is always out of play and never really longer than say 150yds. I've actually begged for my slice to come back and I can't seem to figure out what has changed to caused such a drastic change in my ball pattern. Curious if you've seen this before and what I should be aware of to get it back on the right track. I'm not looking to be the longest off the tee, I just want to have a consistent ball pattern and a playable second shot. Thanks for all the videos @Danny Maude
Very well explained and easy to understand. As another viewer has commented and this could be a topic for a future video, it’s remarkable to see how much club head speed you can generate with so little effort. I feel like I am swinging much faster than you but I my driver speed is 82 MPH with Trackman. My smash factor is 1.49 and I’m still very athletic. I feel like I can easily add 6 or 7 MPH but can’t figure out how you do it with what looks like your warm up swing!
I'll be honest I just listened to your podcast for the first time and have subscribed. The thing I'm seeing is that second hit the heel hit you barely swung because of your back and still generated 90+mph club head speed.
Check out Saturdays video as I think this will provide you with the answers
Fantastic tips again Danny and thank you.
You are very welcome Helen
Danny, I did not find the link for the lesson today. This will be a great lesson for my students today. Thank you.
Always simple and helpful! Thanks!
Great video, the last segment about "a bit of snap" confused me though. Do you mean hit it more aggressively or a release of hands/wrists?
Very well explained and easy to understand. As another viewer has commented and this could be a topic for a future video, it’s remarkable to see how much club head speed you can generate with so little effort. I feel like I am swinging much faster than you but I my driver speed is 82 MPH with Trackman. My smash factor is 1.49 and I’m still very athletic.
I feel like I can easily add 6 or 7 MPH but can’t figure out how you do it with what looks like your warm up swing!
More great advice to take away and work on.
All the best Colin
Very cool. The driver tip about not "flicking" hands at ball will be useful. One of my faults. Thank you.
