@@AlexElliottGolf honestly it is fantastic really helps me feel through the ball . Most of the coach videos are so confusing I hqve only been taking your advise and AMG videos and has really helped me out so me tha k you mate
I have recently taken up playing golf (New Year's resolution )and as someone in their mid 60s I have found developing new skills at my age rather challenging. I was absolutely flabbergasted with the amount of information regarding this sport and the often contradictory and confusing tips. I took the advice of my two golfing sons who said try and follow one particular sight and and adapt the tips to suit your game. As my two sons are named Alex and Elliot, watching your channel, Alex seemed an obvious choice. Apart from that, your well presented information makes (to me anyway) a lot of sense.
I switched to a narrower stance this Fall to help me feel myself swing around my body more, it has helped immensely and my driving is much improved and as Alex said it helps deliver the club face more square or slightly inside out, I do the same on flaring the left foot 😊.
I’ve tried it on the range in the past, and it works. Gets the club swinging the right way. It didn’t occur to me to just keep doing the drill on the course.
I’m taking this advice to the range and hopefully add it to my game. Drive is all there and an X factor or it NOT all there and still an X factor in scoring and scrambling. This has some huge potential to simplify the mechanics and eliminate a bunch of breakdowns in mechanics that plague my rounds. Thanks Alex
Im a typical 'gotta smash it' Lefty. The harder i try to beat the ball to death, the less distance and accuracy i usually get.. If i walk up and just hit the ball without trying for distance, or thinking too much, the further and more accurate the shot.. The difference can be 70 -100 yards.. I hit over 300 total if i dont try.. 250 into the trees if i do.. This is a great drill to learn to chill. If you try and smash it with maximum torque and wind-up with your feet closer, you'll spin off balance after the shot.. sadly i still suck at every other aspect of the game, but my tee shots are pretty good..
Wil have to give that a try. In the past while practicing, I would simply place my right foot back behind me. Maybe, use this when my game for the day is slice time.
I tried it after this video and i was luaghing that it worked hahahahh. I love your coaching videos pga bias videos not so much lol but your a great coach mate 👍 🎉
Only started playing a few months, watched loads of your drills which are great. I always seem to top it or thin it.. Is there any tips/drills to help?
Alex, does this method work as well with irons and fairway woods. I realize you'd have to tweak where to play it in your stance. But, it seems like this might be good all of the time.
@@AlexElliottGolf @ I am a believer on this method, it’s easier and I have more control than a wide stance. All I need now is to become more consistent with my approach and putts. I do have one question though, do I still need to change the angle of my lead shoulder like in a normal stance?
The issue is what is the evidence on a mid handicapper - you are going to hit it well all the time - How about doing a test with an average golfer - and are you suggesting that we mid handicappers actually do this on the course ?
Please stop apologizing for your handwriting. It's very distracting and becomes irritating. Love the content minus the apologizing. And this is from a Canadian and we love to apologize

is this a drill or is it something you think we should all the time ??
I always assume a narrower stance now with my driver and my drives are now far straighter and slightly longer !
This is good advice guys !
Loc that!!!!! So great to hear

love to hear that you are new to the game! don't try to take on too much information it can lead you down a Rabit hole. great names for your sons haha

love to hear that it worked for you greg
Great video. Can you make another video on one length irons again and your current thoughts on this style of irons? Maybe a playing video with them?
Great suggestion! I used to use these irons…I’ll dig them out for you

Appreciate it John. I hope it helps
Gotta try this! Great videos. How about a video on using one wedge for every short shot versus multiple wedges?
For sure! Keep your eyes on the channel I’ll have you covered in then next month
Nice birdie on the last hole. I know if you wanted to you could drive the green.
Will it work with irons as well?
I would keep away from it with irons... just a toned down version would be best
Look forward to seeing your notifications pop up. Could you please help me with downhill lies? Mid irons and fairway woods. Thanks
100% Ill cover this for you can get it up in the. next month

i would say yes to fairway woods but not irons
Would you advocate this stance to try for all golf shots…🤷♂️?
all shots that are on a tee for sure
Taking this drill to the range at the weekend. Looks strange but the results seem legit. I guess onky woods and hybrids correct?
Let me know how you get on!!
