If this movie didn’t end on a cliff hanger and it was 5 hours long. I would’ve watched the whole thing with a smile on my face. It might be the best movie to come out in the past decade
My bf sat there in shock when it ended 🤣🤣 it was so cute and funny but at the same time I felt bad for him since it’ll be at least a year or two to wait for the next one, we loved it! 🕸️🌟
If Beyond the Spider-verse is nearly as good as these first two movies were, we’d be looking at potentially the greatest film trilogy of all time. This movie was insane
top tier foreshadowing. they kept callin him villain of the week all the way u til shit got real. everybody took him for granted except miguel. spot kept trying to tell miles. miles dismissed him because he wasnt a threat. he didnt foresee the future like a vet wouldve. good lesson to learn for miles. he'll be a great spiderman for this loss. i look forward to seeing him in more serious toned situations. maybe even a special time skip where we get a seasoned mature miles
Surprised they didn't draw attention to the scene where Jefferson Davis is about to jump into Spot's portal, before cutting to Jefferson taking the stairs, which parallels Miles chickening out of his first leap of faith attempt back in Into the Spider-Verse, like Father like Son.
Only difference is that there really wouldn’t be any guarantee that Davis would have been able to land safely after entering a portal. You saw how Miles and Spot were flying all over the place 😅
I love how prowler miles looks. He looks so badass. They way they drew him up was amazing. The nervous sounds of our miles kinda had me scared for a sec. What a cliffhanger. Love this movie.
Can someone help me understand something. Idk how his Prowler Uncle suddenly disappeared and out came Prowler Miles. Like did he just disguise himself as his Uncle Aaron in front of his mom?
The fact that Gwen starts the movie by saying "Let's do things differently this time" and then the major conflict of the movie is messing with "canon" is just such good writing
Whoever is reading this, I wanted to say I hope you have a great day and that God loves you so much that He sent His son, Jesus, to die on a cross for your sins and He rose again from the dead three days later. God Bless! And also, He doesn't want you to go to Hell, but He wants you to go to Heaven with Him but you have to be Saved. How do I get Saved you might ask? Here are the steps below on how to get Saved! 1. Believe that God sent His Son (Jesus) to die on a cross for your sins and that He rose again from the dead 3 days later. 2. Confess to Jesus that you are a sinner and ask forgiveness for your sins and Turn away from your sins. If you sin again after asking forgiveness of that sin, ask forgiveness again and try not to do it ever again. Jesus will forgive you! 3. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and your life and for Him to be your Lord and Savior forever. 4. Build a Personal Relationship with Jesus by Praying and Reading the Bible daily and Live for Him Forever. I'm Praying for you and you are loved! (Romans 10:9-13)))
One of my favorite things is that it confirms something that a lot of people never noticed. When we first see the spider that bit miles we see it glitches out. That’s letting us know it does not belong their.
@@friccle_ Its definitely "implied" in the first movie, but they also hid it very well. Its just like one glitch that happens long before the reveal of what the glitches mean.
Eric pointed out that the 1st time we see Miles swinging through the city is merely clumsily following Gwen. The next time we him swing like that is in India where by the end he gains his confidence, but still unknowingly makes mistakes. The last time we see him swinging through the city he is in the lead & everyone else is following (chasing) him & while they all still assume he is just the clumsy kid who unwittingly ruins things, he actually does have plan. Mile's swings seem to coincide with his growth, maturity & independence.
@Sid Raghunayakula ya but they did it in a way where it didn't feel like this one actually ended. Instead of like a mid season finale it felt like it ended on episode 7
@@sidraghunayakula4084 yeah but it kinda was abrupt, I get it was for hype, but the whole movie was really good build up, for it to just end on the main climax, don't get me wrong, it was a great movie, but its just doesn't feel complete, and now we gotta wait a whole other few months to get a sequel that could've have just been the next 40 minutes of the movie we've been waiting for for 5 years, idk, do you get what I mean?
I really dug how Miguel was basically the Batman of the spiderverse compared to everyone else. Super angry and broody because he kept doing what had to be done
38:47 during this scene, when we hear Prowler Miles talk, he has a more pronounced Latino accent, due to his father dying which gives his mother more of an influence on him. Such a cool yet subtle detail!
@@epiphannytaylor3211you talk about accents like it’s possible to not have one.. everyone has an accent and everyone’s accent changes over time. Even if you grew up in the US and have a thick US accent like Robert Downey jr for example, if he moved to London for the rest of his life. He would start to ‘lose’ his accent and start sounding more English. But also, no. Your parents have zero affect on your accent. It’s entirely based on your friends/peers accents.
I loved the fact that when the entire world was against Miles even his mentor & lover, Peter & Gwen, the only one willing to help is Hobie. I wasn't expecting him to be my favorite after watching this movie & here I am wanting more of him & Miles in Beyond the Spiderverse 🕷
I kinda wanna argue that Hobie did it simply because he’s anti-establishment, not because he cares for Miles. Either way, he’s super bad*ss and cool af
I think hobie might actually believe that this is all suppose to happen. He is suppose to question everything and when they “discussed” how miles shouldn’t exist I think Hobie was “maybe not” maybe miles Story arc is suppose to happen among all the verses. Hobie knows something but more so he believes in miles .
yea i just don't know if i agree with his motive, like yes it kinda makes sense to blame spiderman for losing his whole life but he was too goofy at the beginning it didn't make sense for him to be more serious and menacing so soon. There was no transition it was just "yeah i think i'll maybe try to hurt spiderman" to "i'm going to take everything from you because you threw a bagel at me" He should have been more menacing at the beginning
@@captainobvious6566 he's not getting back at miles for throwing a bagel he's getting back at him for blowing up the reactor that gave him his powers and turned him into the spot
Hobie was an awesome character. Set up to be a cliche romance rival that definitely made me nervous at the start, but then turns out to be the GOAT and first Spider to help Miles.
If you also notice Miles' jacket when he returned home, his jacket is sporting the Prowler's colors (green and purple) as opposed to his usual jacket color which is blue and red.
YES!! i noticed that too!!! that’s part of what keyed me into figuring out (before the reveal) that he was in the wrong universe, those weren’t his proper clothing colors
I also find this pretty interesting because in the first movie when Miles meets his Peter Parker his spider sense is purple and green and then fades into red in blue.
@@oliviawhyte3384I knew he was in the wrong universe right away because I was paying attention when he hit the button on the lab screen to start the process it said earth -42 right away I’m like damn he fucked up 😂
the best thing from into the spider-verse is that miles' father stated that he was afraid he'd turn out like his uncle, which was his fate as we see in earth 42
The chase sequence with Miles and all the other Spiderman is like something out of a dream for real. All the different Spidermen popping up, cats, T-Rex's - just bonkers.
One thing I found interesting is that when miles is invisible, no other spider person can sense him. We saw that in the first movie. But we see it more in this
I didn't even notice that! Good catch. It's possible that is because he's not a threat to them or they don't perceive him as a threat, but maybe there's something deeper going on. I'll definitely have to remember that.
@@JaimeareRainey That he's an anti-spiderman in a way, maybe even a response from the Web of Life and Destiny for all the meddling Miguel has been doing. His undetectability is a counter to spider sense and his electroshock is a counter to their super tech. If the writer bring in the Great Weaver from the comics he could have been specifically designed by that character to counter Miguel and the Spidermen working under him.
@@fandomlibrary9506I think it's most likely just that miles isn't a threat in any way, isn't even thinking about harming them so the spider sense isn't alarmed
it’s bc their spider sense isn’t on alert to things that aren’t a potential threat , (miles has no i’ll will or bad intentions or vibes for the spider sense to pick up on )
In a sense, Miles created spot…twice. He literally made him and then when he high key disrespected him, he made the actual super villain. The character development is insane!
Actually one of the animators posted this on Twitter, but different parts of Hobie were animated on different frame rates; his outline was animated on 1s, his colors were animated on 2s, and his guitar was animated on 4s
When I found out the fan-animated lego version of the trailer was made by a 14-year-old I was blown away that someone so young could have that kind of mastery of 3D animation. When I found out today that the same person did the sequence in the film, I looked at their channel, and it is really heart-warming and inspiring to see how much they've improved over the last couple of years, and to see the hard work they put into it getting rewarded like that!
If they stick the landing on the third film it may hands down become one of the best trilogies. Case and point on just how influential the animation has been on the entire industry.
Another tiny detail: During the chase scene, when miles jumps from the "moon-highway", his feet stick and cause damage to the structure, like he did in the Leap of Faith scene when the glass shatters. Showing that Miles is still a little nervous, but brave.
@@idanlewenhoff2295 So amazing. I'm rewatching Into-Spider-Verse so many times! And not just details, but actual easter eggs too! My favorites being the weather-machine from "Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs", and the wooden moose from "The Mitchells VS The Machines"
I like this concept; I think it also indicates just how much power he can generate while making it look so effortless, seemingly not putting much effort into the act… Thoughts?
I went into this movie worrying they were gonna make spider punk way more antagonistic to Miles bc of Hobie and Gwen’s little thing that’s referenced, but I couldn’t be more happy that they make it clear that he’s more of a mentor figure that miles looks up to after he gets over the Gwen thing
I absolutely love how they used colors to conveys even more the feelings of the characters, and mood of the scene. Especially during Gwen's story parts.
Okay but the fact this video is 40 minutes long of just easter eggs rlly shows how much detail was put into this movie, not to mention the story itself was incredible
I thought the implication that miles was going to break the chains with his powers using his hands while tied up was a callback to Peter’s advice “don’t watch the face watch the hands” a lesson the miles of that universe wouldn’t have ever learned therefore allowing miles to potentially escape in the opening scene of beyond the spiderverse
I just got out of the theater from seeing this and I can confidently say it's the best movie I've ever seen. A lot of stuff happened in this art, and I probably missed some stuff. I'm so happy this dropped half an hour after I finished watching this movie.
35:40 when I watched this movie I saw the „Earth 0042“ before Miles used the go-home-machine and immediately knew he wouldn‘t go to his own universe - I loved seeing everyone around me being confused and then realizing what happened
Another cool detail is when returning to his dorm room he waits before going round the the corner and pigeons fly past him. This shows he has learnt from the first movie after first getting his powers and having birds attach to his hands!
@@life_with_emely Which is extra interesting, because if those Games exist in Miles' Universe, imagine his surprise, when he saw Insomniac Peter in the Spider-HQ.
I like how they make spider punk seem nonsensical by how he acts. But the moment I saw his own multiversal device it made me realize that spider people are smart no matter what
I was going to say his universe is run by a fascist government so I think his nonsensical attitude is a direct result of his universe. He always has a plan and he knows how to skirt the edges without detection.
VERY subtle thing I noticed on my second viewing. The puffer and hoodie Miles puts on in Universe 42 to cover the spidersuit is purple and green... foreshadowing the prowler connotation to come. This movie is perfect
Idk if its just me but these spider verse movies have been so good i really dont want to see it all end next year i know its going to but i wish there would have been more, i want to see how these two continue. Its one of those things that its felt like we the viewers have been with them through every step. They did a great job making these characters seem so relatable.
He was a goof at the start, but as the film goes on he honestly becomes way more menacing which I gotta give to the filmmakers / animators , they did a great job making him more terrifying throughout the runtime
@@heisenberg7069 I agree but honestly at the end he kinda looks like anti-spiral (if you don't know who that is just Google him, you'll know what I'm talking about)
Another clue that Miles was in the wrong universe was that his mom asks if he was cosplaying for Comic-Con, where in the first movie, Peter B. mentions Comic-Con and Miles doesn’t know what it is
@@NameHere2856 nah what hes saying is that miles doesnt know what comic con is because it doesnt exist in his universe while it does in like the wrong universe with his mom
@Prestin Kim okay but that's a stretch. Just because he didn't know what comic con was means it doesn't exist in his universe? I didn't even know what South Park was until 2016. Does that mean it didn't exist before then?
@@NameHere2856No but a teenager who is a superhero fan would probably know what comicon is, it would be strange for middle aged Peter Parker and his mother to know it if he doesn't.
I feel like Miles will be able to save his dad because if Miles himself is an anomaly and didn't crash the universe after getting bit, then would it really matter if he saved his dad since everything he has done after getting bit would be unnatural? 🧐
Also in Mumbhattan, that whole distruction was created by Spot, which would've led to the canon event for Pavitr. But Spot is from another universe, so how is he the cause of a Canon event? The spider that causes Miles to become spiderman is from another universe and THAT itself somehow makes HIM an anomaly? I'm thinking Miguel has somewhat of a misunderstanding of why Canon events have to happen, or what is considered a Canon event.
I also noticed Rio Morales from Earth-42 had different eye colors from Rio from the Earth 1610 dimension. Just another hint at Miles not being in his home dimension. Great details across the entire movie
Another detail is when Miles enters the guidance counsellor room, he mentions that if you can't have your cake and eat it, you can make a second one, which is instantly shown wrong when he gets 2 cakes for his dad. Nice lil parallel there
@EK more like miles thinks _"2 cakes"_ solves the problem but actually is problematic... like him thinking: - the 2 cakes for his father would solve the problem, yet resulted in unforeseen problems - two Spider-people could save both in danger (1st movie: Miles & Peter B., this movie: Miles & Mumbai-SM) but in the end caused problems (i.e. universes of the multiverse facing deletion).
This film has an insane amount of effort out into it. Every little detail and a cool storyline which is why we hadn't seen this movie come out for 5 years. Huge and Massive props to the creators, animators and writers.
I love the scene when Volture shots fire, and Gwen say "You don't want to play with fire, when you are made of paper", sugesting, that they see him as a character made of paper.
@@TheCursedCat1927 yes but the comment is referring to the fact that since they’re all animation, paper shouldn’t be a thing they even refer too. On a technical level. They see the material of a world that doesn’t exist in theirs, yet they can still name the texture🤯
Out of all the throwbacks I gotta say the fact that something as unnoticeable as a thrown bagle created a supervillain that is now probably about to destroy Miles' universe is absolutely AWESOME
Hobie's animation is so cool. He's animated in 3s (like how Miles was animated in 2s), but his guitar is animated in 4s. He constantly changes art styles, too! "I don't believe in consistency."
I just realized that Pavithr Prabhakar didnt have the line "Got bit by a radioactive spider " like other spidermen since according to the comics he got his powers from a yogi.
@@kuldeepbana3834 No, much like all alkalis are bases, but all bases are not alkalis...all tantriks are yogis, but all yogis are not tantriks... some only perform yoga and not tantra-mantra... 🤣🤣
Not just the comics; the entire FRANCHISE across animation, live action, games, etc. Something for everyone that's had some exposure to Spidey's over so many years. A beautiful thing.
Miguel is the first anomoly not miles, he started the collapse of the universes when he tried to live a life not his and ever since has been trying to fix it. Also the fact that miles said "are you even spiderman?" because he has claws and is part vampire, sounds like 2099 might be chasing the wrong anomoly and all of these events started because of him trying to live in the wrong universe.
There was also the scene where (while invisible) Miles hangs upside down & Gwen turns around to face his direction. A call back to the famous Peter & MJ kiss.
I can’t believe it never occurred to me that in ITSV when Miles returns to the spider after being bitten, it glitches because it from a different universe like how everyone else glitches.
You're right. Great detail. Because glitching means something in this movie and wasn't a plot point in the first movie, so it wasn't noticeable in the first movie. It definitely means something now.
also when Peter senses that Miles also has powers the colors coming from Miles senses is purple and green which means until it turned red and blue. Which means Miles was supposed to become the Prowler until the Spider ruined it
@@tomboyraider1015 I'm not sure if you're joking or not, but glitching was still important in the first movie, lol. The first movie very firmly established that characters glitch when they're in the wrong reality. It's used as a twist in the 2nd movie, but its definitely established in the first.
My ALL TIME FAVE moment was just before the SSociety detained Miles. J Drew tells Hobie "You're not helping.", and he responds "Good." Best moment hands down!
I had really really REALLY high expectations for this movie and it STILL blew my expectations out of the water into atmosphere into the universe into the spider verse
Gwen's Earth-65 is not just about the philosophy of the art style vs. Miles' Earth-1610, but it tributes the artistic works of Rodriguez and Renzi from the 1st run of the comics and all the other artists involved especially the cover artists. As a fan of Spider-Gwen comics since the beginning, seeing it in the film, was one of the most beautiful animation sequences I've ever seen.
20:20 Hobie Brown is actually animated differently across his entire body. He's animated on 1s, 2s, offset 2s, 3s and his jacket is even on 4s. His animation is intentionally inconsistent because if you remember, Hobie doesn't believe in consistency.
So honestly, we have no idea if the Morbius movie or the latest Venom movie would have been any good if the directors were allowed to just do their thing, but we _do_ know that Sony interfered with both those projects to a ludicrous degree...and then, the same company releases these two epic, wonderful pieces of art, both on the Mount Rushmore of best Superhero movies of all time. It really boggles the mind how the same studio can release Morbius, Venom 2 and Spider-verse in 18 months.
I can prolly just see the people on spider verse just begging the higher ups for creative control, like "please do whatever you want on venom and Morbius , but just please trust us on this"
The animation department probably has a lot more creative freedom than the live action department. Animation departments are usually more separate than live action departments, and a lot of times it'll also be outsourced to other studios. It also takes much longer to make an animated movie and ignorant executives are probably less likely to be able to stick their noses in and meddle effectively.
Yeah, I was lucky enough 🙏🏻 And no, I didn’t put that sign there :) I’m not sure about the intent of those building lines matte paint artists put in there, but it’s more of a common visual language of the movie when things in distance are presented with lines only - kismet or other types ;)
Did/do you also work on the next one? If so, give us a little bit of info that will make absolutely no sense whatsoever without any of the context, please. :D As an example from this movie; 'The goose will make you crack up'
You missed one I noticed on the cinema! When Miles enters to his room with Ganke, he is laying on the bed playing videogames, He is actually playing Marvels Spiderman PS4!! Check it, I find it a very nice detail
My favorite detail has to have been Donald Glover as The Prowler!! I gasped! So awesome to see him as more confirmed canon from the live action movies ! Miles is in the MCU!!!!
The 616 version of Hobie is the original prowler, not the version of him from this universe. I know you probably know this but I just wanted to mention to clarify for others
I also noticed that when Miles is in Earth 42, his mom's eyes are more green versus when in his original universe, they're brown. I was so confused in the theater before the big reveal lol
37:47 what got me in this scene was Rio’s eye color. It felt like they showed their eyes very early on to be this really bright brown, and as soon as his mom walked in, they were greenish. That was the moment I knew he wasn’t in his universe.
Miguel O'hara's obsession with "canon events" is a metaphor for toxic fandoms gatekeeping what is or isn't canon. Miles "breaking canon" is freeing the filmmakers to tell the stories they want to tell, without being shackled down by canon. When we argue as fans over whether franchise movies are worthwhile, or we use comic book easter eggs to try to predict the plot, we are Miguel. When we go to the movies just to be entertained, we are Miles.
Especially with how the filmmakers have made Spot into a way different villain. Love not sticking with comic storylines and making something unique BUT good.
Also, according to the IMDb listing, Donald Glover in this film is credited as MCU Aaron Davis. I wonder, then, if the events of No Way Home and Into the Spider-Verse might have had more resonance with one another than we initially thought, and/or that MCU Aaron Davis had a whole Prowler arc we never saw in the MCU films!
@@lumon1668 it's explained in the movie that the spot is actually the scientist that got hit by the bagel in the 2018 movie which is really funny and cool
Fun Fact, did you know that in the comics, the 616 of Miles not the 1610 aka Ultimate Miles, is actually criminal himself and older than Ultimate Miles. He's a member of a crime family and a supervillain, Miles even fights him. So the ending is quite like the comics
Such a great film with so many good lines - particularly enjoyed when Gwen was telling Miles about Miguel for the first time and says he's kind of a good vampire, Miles makes a comment that's a nod to Morbius.
Hailee said in an interview Gwen’s WORLD is almost like visually seen a mood ring. After actually seen this it makes so much sense and it great to watch!
Two details that I liked in this movie is that Gwen’s speech at the end reflects miles speech to his parents early in the movie at the conference and how Miguel was just going to take a chunk out of the vultures neck when no one was around and only stop once the helicopter spotlight was on him showing a mysterious part of him
I loved the detail of the colour change to miles’s jacket when he puts it on in earth-42. The colours are green and purple (prowler) rather then earth-1610 miles’s jacket which is green and red
A 2-hour long movie that is basically very deep to comprehend as far as "Multi verse" themes are concerned. As a grandparent taking my 6year old grandson, I was more immersed than he was. Great movie with twists and turns!!!
In the main marvel universe, Hobie Brown is the Prowler. Technically, Hobie showing Miles how to escape is the second time a "Prowler" taught him something he used to get out of a situation.
In the Prowler Miles universe, another clue was when Miles tried to hide his costume from his mother, his jacket is in the prowler color scheme purple and green.
the fact that J Jonah is in every spiderman universe shows that despite his constant hatred towards spiderman, he is unknowingly the most important person in the spiderverse
There are SO many details in these movies! I feel like you’d have to watch them 8,000 times to catch them all. Thanks for a fun analysis video. I’m riding the hyperfixation wave of Across The Spiderverse HARD. It was a MASTERPIECE! ❤️
I saw this 2 days ago, and to me this is By far the BEST movie animation I've ever seen, I know I might get some backlash but to me this is the Best movie ever
I love how Guess Who's Back by Rakim played during the opening Brooklyn scene. It made me super excited for Miles' return as Spiderman, and the feel was just perfect!
During the first movie, I kept thinking to myself that Aaron looked like Rakim so I thought it was really cool when the needle drop happened. It felt like a similar moment to the Hypnotize drop in the first movie.
I’m a bit of a sci-fi nerd(of course) but the reality psych out gave me more of a reminder of the TV series Sliders. At the end of the first episode he thought he returned because the gate squeaked only to come to realization they didn’t because his father was still alive there. Look at that and their multidimensional travel and that TV series will stick out.
Another missable detail: Miles's Dad mentions "oh i see bubbles" as they're waiting in the counselors office. At the same time, Miles and the Spot briefly slip into a car wash, then into Foam Party, all the car soap bubbles to slip through the spot into the coffee shop!
Considering how they even referred to Miguel as a vampire, I think talking about the scene when Miguel almost bites the Vulture and explain more of Miguel's origin would've been appropriate
Well Spiderman 2099 doesn't like wasting time chatting. Him skipping his origin story was pretty in-character. Also leaving out his origin story really added density to his line "I'm not like the others" because his story is quite different. But there are multiple iterations of 2099, and main line Miguel can't retract his fangs. The fact he can has me worried.
A note I've seen someone post on the internet and then went ahead to see it myself: In the first movie when Miles meets his worlds Peter Parker you can see during the spider-sense part that the colour behind miles is initially green and purple (Prowler colours) only to change to blue and red after a moment. They foreshadowed it, damn it.
27:28 what i love about this whole scene and until prowler shows up is the usage of the colors purple and green. Which are the colors of the prowler. Seen everywhere from his room to the stairs and even jeff’s mural.
They did it differently. While it feels off, after I watched it again the pacing feels different bc the story structure is different from the typical heroes journey. The point was never for Miles to fight Miguel as he wasn't the ultimate villian. They needed to detain Miles to keep the canon, and Miguel's secret mission to eliminate Miles. The basic story structure is there but its also rearranged that is initially offputting but genius. Everything from the characters, to what their actions or choices implied without giving away too much was top tier writing.

And also, He doesn't want you to go to Hell, but He wants you to go to Heaven with Him but you have to be Saved. How do I get Saved you might ask? Here are the steps below on how to get Saved!
1. Believe that God sent His Son
(Jesus) to die on a cross for your sins and that He rose again from the dead 3 days later.

Hobie was an awesome character. Set up to be a cliche romance rival that definitely made me nervous at the start, but then turns out to be the GOAT and first Spider to help Miles.

@EK more like miles thinks _"2 cakes"_ solves the problem but actually is problematic... like him thinking:
- the 2 cakes for his father would solve the problem, yet resulted in unforeseen problems

You missed one I noticed on the cinema! When Miles enters to his room with Ganke, he is laying on the bed playing videogames, He is actually playing Marvels Spiderman PS4!! Check it, I find it a very nice detail
He's actually playing Spiderman 2, you can see Peter as venom, extremely cool detail
@@Icecream-gj4rt No way
Nahh I don’t think he was venom peter had the mechanical legs showing a tiny glimpse of gameplay from non-Symbiot peter
Yeah I noticed this! Super cool detail
My favorite detail has to have been Donald Glover as The Prowler!! I gasped! So awesome to see him as more confirmed canon from the live action movies ! Miles is in the MCU!!!!
Maybe should have mentioned that Hobie is the original Prowler and that connection makes him somewhat closer to Miles as a mentor
Seriously??? That's pretty crazy. I can totally see it though, the Prowler has a similar aesthetic to Hobie.
The 616 version of Hobie is the original prowler, not the version of him from this universe. I know you probably know this but I just wanted to mention to clarify for others
@@apersonwhomayormaynotexist9868 yeah i thought he was prowler at first then become spidey.
@@apersonwhomayormaynotexist9868 thanks for clarification
that explains why he was taking all of things from miguel’s hideout and then making his own tech out of it, something the prowler typically does
The pastel "flavor" used to depict Spider-Gwen's universe is probably also a throwback to the color style of Spider-Gwen #1 :)
Yeah, it really is.
The Producers even said so when the 1st movie came out.
I also noticed that when Miles is in Earth 42, his mom's eyes are more green versus when in his original universe, they're brown. I was so confused in the theater before the big reveal lol
yeah red brown vs green/purple
that hit me to. i was like o shit he really in 42. and his mom not knowing what a spiderman is.
37:47 what got me in this scene was Rio’s eye color. It felt like they showed their eyes very early on to be this really bright brown, and as soon as his mom walked in, they were greenish. That was the moment I knew he wasn’t in his universe.
How the entire theater GASPED though when Gwen unboxed Miles’ figurine 😂
Haha same as mine lol
Same 😂 universal experience
Same, lots of pained groans too. Glad it was a universal experience 💀
Sameeee I wasn’t the loudest one that gasped😂
It was so painful
Miguel O'hara's obsession with "canon events" is a metaphor for toxic fandoms gatekeeping what is or isn't canon. Miles "breaking canon" is freeing the filmmakers to tell the stories they want to tell, without being shackled down by canon. When we argue as fans over whether franchise movies are worthwhile, or we use comic book easter eggs to try to predict the plot, we are Miguel. When we go to the movies just to be entertained, we are Miles.
excellent observation riki, was reminiscent of the plot train episode of rick and morty
Especially with how the filmmakers have made Spot into a way different villain. Love not sticking with comic storylines and making something unique BUT good.
i love this comment
The canon discussion is the absolute worst part of any fandom. Why does it matter??? This movie proves it doesn't
So the filmakers are liberating all spider men and women lol
19:30 He poured soo much tea he actually took 2 glass of it, so he had tea tea.
Also, according to the IMDb listing, Donald Glover in this film is credited as MCU Aaron Davis. I wonder, then, if the events of No Way Home and Into the Spider-Verse might have had more resonance with one another than we initially thought, and/or that MCU Aaron Davis had a whole Prowler arc we never saw in the MCU films!
pretty bizarre how the bagel joke in the first movie turned out to be a crazy ass butterfly effect in these next two films.
How?
@@lumon1668 it's explained in the movie that the spot is actually the scientist that got hit by the bagel in the 2018 movie which is really funny and cool
@@mkro633 but how is it a butterfly effect??
@@yeshiberhe1107that resulted in him becoming the main antagonist to Miles’s story
@@yeshiberhe1107 Spot getting hit with a bagel in the first film kickstarted his vendetta against Miles
Fun Fact, did you know that in the comics, the 616 of Miles not the 1610 aka Ultimate Miles, is actually criminal himself and older than Ultimate Miles. He's a member of a crime family and a supervillain, Miles even fights him. So the ending is quite like the comics
The end of the movie was surreal! Everyone in the cinema was cheering and clapping and seemed very happy.
lol, when it finished for me, the whole cinema was silent for like a minute straight
Such a great film with so many good lines - particularly enjoyed when Gwen was telling Miles about Miguel for the first time and says he's kind of a good vampire, Miles makes a comment that's a nod to Morbius.
It's hard to believe that this is only the SECOND multiversal movie to feature a bagel as an all important object.
There was a billboard for everything everywhere all at once in the movie
Hailee said in an interview Gwen’s WORLD is almost like visually seen a mood ring. After actually seen this it makes so much sense and it great to watch!
34:20 A detail I immediately noticed in this part of the scene was that you can hear Doctor Octavious’ line of “Hello Peter” from NWH which I loved!
I caught that too!!!
Two details that I liked in this movie is that Gwen’s speech at the end reflects miles speech to his parents early in the movie at the conference and how Miguel was just going to take a chunk out of the vultures neck when no one was around and only stop once the helicopter spotlight was on him showing a mysterious part of him
Gabriel?
@@TheOnlyRick3 Miguel sorry
It’s not mysterious Miguel doesn’t mind killing and actually bites folks lol
@@Noname-gf3nd ok
apparently Miguel have non toxic paralyzing venom from his fangs, so i guess that’s what he’s trying to do to Vulture
Great movie with twists and turns!!!
im immersed in your beauty ms kajun 😍
No backlash necessary, this movie is phenomenal even just as a general film and deserves all the praise it gets!
I love how Guess Who's Back by Rakim played during the opening Brooklyn scene. It made me super excited for Miles' return as Spiderman, and the feel was just perfect!
Yes! Loved the soundtrack! 😏🎧💯
During the first movie, I kept thinking to myself that Aaron looked like Rakim so I thought it was really cool when the needle drop happened. It felt like a similar moment to the Hypnotize drop in the first movie.
Absolutely incredible. Well on the way to becoming one of the greatest trilogies of all time.
You are a madman to uncover so many Easter eggs and details, and for that my respect grows for you Voss
Helps when he has a whole team of nerds to help with thay
I’m a bit of a sci-fi nerd(of course) but the reality psych out gave me more of a reminder of the TV series Sliders. At the end of the first episode he thought he returned because the gate squeaked only to come to realization they didn’t because his father was still alive there.
Look at that and their multidimensional travel and that TV series will stick out.
Sliders was so awesome to begin with it’s a shame fox and then syfy messed it up
Another missable detail: Miles's Dad mentions "oh i see bubbles" as they're waiting in the counselors office. At the same time, Miles and the Spot briefly slip into a car wash, then into Foam Party, all the car soap bubbles to slip through the spot into the coffee shop!
12:56 what warranted this insult?
😭
Considering how they even referred to Miguel as a vampire, I think talking about the scene when Miguel almost bites the Vulture and explain more of Miguel's origin would've been appropriate
Well Spiderman 2099 doesn't like wasting time chatting. Him skipping his origin story was pretty in-character. Also leaving out his origin story really added density to his line "I'm not like the others" because his story is quite different.
But there are multiple iterations of 2099, and main line Miguel can't retract his fangs. The fact he can has me worried.
@Small Teddy I think they left it unexplored for the next one that will probably reveal his motivations
I know!! @@TheLivelovelaugh165 especially if you thing about the foes the spider-people have to fight in the spider-verse comic run...

I can't believe you didn't bring up how Aaron realized this wasn't Miles from his universe and how he gave him the side eye on the rooftop.
14:13;Even though it *WASN'T* supposed to happen.
🫤
i thought the green/purple was from green goblin, who he just escaped from in that scene
@@louisthelegend1011Both are amazing theories that I never would have guessed
