I almost tear up everytime when I see the brachiosaurus for the first time in JP1. the actors expressions and just general wonder. This movie is still the best
I really can’t believe this Beautiful and almost real CGI DONE with this Old pc’s And softwares , still holding up for this Days And always Will Magnificent work ❤
Holy shit, wow! All of these scenes are amazing! I never knew the kids crawled around on mats for the Rex scene. I literally thought they were in a practical car doing their own stunts or, their faces put on their stunt doubles. They were just CGI'd into the car and the scene. This movie still has some of the greatest CGI to date and it still holds up strong. The only CGI scene that I watch that has shown some age is when the gallimimus jump over the log. You can tell its animated right there. That's it though.
Video editing software? I believe they used film which at that time was still physically cut and pasted together. Or do you want to know the software they used to make the visual effects? They used a bunch of off-the-shelf tools, Alias 2.4 for modeling (1:30) , SoftImage|3D for animating (1:40), Matador for texture painting (more on that later), Pixar's PRMan for rendering. They also wrote a number of proprietary tools (or reused them from earlier efforts). 'Bodysock' was used to stitch B-Spline surfaces together to form a single geometrically continuous shape. 'Enveloping' was used to transform the control vertices according to the bones animated in SoftImage|3D and also to allow the animators to add secondary movement, such as jiggling flesh or bulging muscles. A software called 'Viewpaint' (a plugin for Matador) was used to paint the textures directly onto the 3D object. For digital compositing they employed a software called HostIP. From what I gathered, with the exception of Viewpaint, none of these custom tools actually used a graphical user interface, only scripts and command lines.
@@bastienrequiero5050 Like these. The software is a lot fancier now, way more powerful. There's a lot of physical simulation now - fluids, flesh, ragdolls, destruction. Also people rarely use CLI tools these days, unless they are running as batch jobs on a cluster. However, out of all the software used for the visual effects in Jurassic Park, I think the only one that is still maintained is RenderMan.
@@HerrFlachpfeife I just randomly got the notification today of the comment. lol. I think at the time I was trying to see what program it was to see if it was still available. (Just something to mess around with). Looks to only run on SGI hardware from what I can find about it. Still nice to know and thanks for the info. Appreciate it.
This magic when you see this as a 10 years old kid - lasts a lifetime :) Thanks ILM !!!

That jeep wasn’t real the whole time? DAMN! That’s the best CGI ever done.
How can CGI be this good in its earlier years?! They look realistic.
Amazing to see how they were backstage, only further confirms that this is the best movie of all, looking forward to June 2015!
Let's all hope Jurassic World will be a good movie
@@TheJPCollectionI can't believe it's 2024 already

I literally thought the same thing. The effects looked just that real.
Wow this is top notch behind the scenes!
Amazing talents and cinema changing. Thank you ILM and Stan Winstons team.
I love the LEGO looking Gallimimus and the flying Velociraptor
The best visual effects
Why they don't use this in Jurrasic Park World? it's sooo fantastic, animatronics + CGI
They do are using all of these techniques for Jurassic World, both CGI and Animatronics =)
@@TheJPCollection but jurassic park is more realistic like all of the movement are so smooth imo
6:07 🏈 Detroit Lions🦁 vs Denver Broncos🐎
6:10 🟠 Orange Crush
2:07 the blond wig made me laugh 😂
Wait!!! the car was cgi too?!!!
I didn't realize that!!
That VFX still looking good until now comparing the new films
Made on Windows 92 and yet looks 100x more photo realistic than those crap new ones made 25 years later
Perfect comment
1:37 This is a NURBS model. Totally old school.
Anyone know what the name of the video editing software that was used on the first jurassic park? Can't seem to find much on it.
