    I've watched your video twice now! Love how you explained how to use your cadence! I used your technique last weekend, I didn't catch a Walleye but I did catch a big crappie! I marked fish right on the bottom of a mid lake hump, but couldn't get them to bite.

    For casting I like to use shiver minnows they seem to foul less, but nothing beats a jigging rap vertically exactly the way you demonstrated. That slower slack less fall makes all the difference.

    Great video. We have only done a little bit of Walleye fishing on the Columbia River here in Oregon. I would think this jigging would work in the right areas. We also have a Helix 12 Mega Si G2N. Finally got it dialed in to see fish pretty good Si, Di and Sonar. Plus the Navionics+ West updates with the Sonar Charts Live gave me an area that isn't on any commercial map.

    Thats how I get them vertical for Sea Bass in the ocean at 80'. Just like rowing jigs for walleye, short sharp hop and gently follow the weight of the lure and then suspend it off bottom an inch. Those lures are killer for any baitfish eating targeting scenario.

    Hi Tom, Great video. I've been intending to start using the jigging raps and shiver minnow this year and your video really helps out. What a coincidence. The guy with the "Goofey" colored clothes has the exact same boat that you do. Right down to the downrigger, Marcum camera, fish finder and outboard. I think I'll dress like that next time out and see if it increases my luck! Thanks again for the informative video.
    It's cold here in Washington state right now and we're finding fish in 75 feet of water. Have you ever fished the jigging raps in water that deep?

    Hi Tom! Love that video! I have seen several of the Lindner Videos on the jigging Raps and very excited to try. I am from Southern Michigan. I have heard guys on the tour using them in Sagiaw bay and doing well but it seems unheard of on the inland lakes around here. The lakes are deep but not as much rock as up north. Will this lure still work?? I bought 15 of them so I sure hope they will. Would love your opinion

      They everywhere walleye live

    • @paulfrank9725
      @paulfrank9725 5 років тому

      @@TomBoley A guy who fishes the tour told me that there is to much moss on the bottom and the bottom isnt hard enough. I dont buy that because watching you ...you just barly let it hit the bottom so if the walleye are there it should work. I like that you said you get them in a softer bottom. The lake Im going to focus on is a bass lake but has been heavy stock with eyes since 2011. We have been catching walleye right with the bass in low light time so I think they have to be in the deep during the day.

    From the studies that have been done I've read that walleyes caught from water deeper than 25 feet will all die anyway if you release them. You said you were fishing 35 feet of water. So you should either quit fishing that deep of water or keep one or two and get out of there and quit wasting fish.

    • @WillowpineOutdoors
      @WillowpineOutdoors 6 років тому

      This can be true, but isn't 100%. Some will turn over, some will be just fine. We catch them in November off bridge pilings in 60' of water. The ones that turn over, their swim bladder either needs to be punctured (fizzed), or you need to help them get on their way. Here is a video on how to fizz them. ua-cam.com/video/eY8FEsxt5CQ/v-deo.html
