Ilya Makoveev | Chess in the 21st Century - GM Ben Finegold
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 тра 2016
- Grandmaster Ben Finegold debuts a new class that's all about games played since 2001. He looks at the best of 10 year old prodigy Ilya Makoveev of Russia. Finegold thinks Makoveev will be great some day; after watching this, you may believe the hype too.
2016.05.12
Shamir Oguzov vs. Ilya Makoveev, 2013: B01 Scandinavian defence
Makoveev vs. Anton Grekov, 2014: A10 English opening
Makoveev vs. Nico Chasin, 2014: A46 Queen's pawn, Torre attack
Dmitry Morozov vs. Makoveev, 2014: A30 English, symmetrical variation
Over the last few lectures the most profound thing I've learnt is that the truth hurts.
You should also know that he's Ben Finegold and you're not.
@@cosenbaughful truth hurts
When I watch Finegold's lectures I first click the like button and then watch the video.
+Nicula Robert Exactly!
16 and a 2310 FM for him now in August 2022. 35 rated games since May 2020.
yeah, he sort of stagnated
Yasser and 5 angry parents disliked this video.
+Piotr Styliński Ryan Chester hasn't seen this yet, so that'll be another one.
Ben Finegold best teacher ever.
You mean grandmaster Finegold. You need to show the proper respect.
*gЯaиDMa5тeR Finegоld. You need to play with typefaces.
Mr Grandmaster Benjamin Finegold Sir
His first name is grandmaster
I don't know if you look at these comments, but just wanted to say that I love your lectures, Ben. If I was your student, I'd constantly be looking forward to the next class.
GM Finegold: I think this is my favourite video of yours, and for me they're all amazing!
Wow, what a great last game!.. wicked mating motif!
Can Arjun do a lecture please? :()
On Ken West's games
"Have you ever played a little kid and you're up like 9 pieces?" - Ben Finegold @12:45
Ben was in rare form this video. I actually laughed out loud a lot during this lecture, and I've heard all your jokes Ben!
Ben Finegold is Gold. I am a simple man I see Ben Finegold in the title I click like and I watch. Makoveev reminds me of me (playstyle). But he is ten thousand elo higher and better. Please look at Wei Yi and Arjuns games :D
+Mikhail Chigorin (FabianoMarijuana) He's fine gold. someone had to say it.
Люблю, когда Бен рассказывает о России :)
"And of thems not even alive. I don't know which one." 24.50. Classic line.
Yasser exposed
hahahahaha.
Oh Ben... oh Ben... first Ken West... then Yasser Seirawan??? LOL
he talks so much trash, love it
BEN FINEGOLD!!!!!!!!!
amazing video!
Thanks Ben. You always entertain.
Rc7 wasa 3rd mating opportunity. Look at me, I'm smart!
Ben,you crack me up everytime!
Now one more reason to chuckle about all the dads who are making wind around their children playing chess and basically being their butlers at chess tournaments, although the kid has like a rating of 1500 at age 13.
+Nils Petras That was definitely my favorite part of the lecture. Truly beautiful.
Dude I am 13 and I have a Rating of 1500. I never go to tournaments and this is my first rating. I also never go training cause I am playing table tennis every day.
does anyone else that doesn't play chess watch these videos? I love them.
Great Job Ben, you really are a great guy.
Get the man some AC! Keep up the great videos Finegold.
Mr. Finegold your lessons are really helpful thank you so much...By the way can we get a lecture on the Alekhine defence sometime?
Good sense of humour and looks like there is only one junior student called 'Arjun' in the class!! Why doesn't the camera pan to show the class .. what's wrong in that?! C'mon guys, if you are name calling so often it is only fair that we see who the heck you are talking to!
+Melody Chest Agreed.
Arjen did you read the script I gave u ? :DDDDD
I actually enjoy how he trash talks everyone, it's by far the best
Más Finegold's por favor!! He's cool. :)
Love the "It was a slow century" comment
Man this is good. I've been following young prodigies since sometime and now we have STLChessClub starting a video series on these prodigies. Moreover, we have Abdusattorov Nodirbek next week !!
next in line please(apart from the Russians and the Americans)
1. Sindarov Javokhir too from Uzbekistan,
2. Iranian Firouzja Alireza,
3. Indian R Praggnanandhaa and Nihal Sarin,
4. Wei Yi please , we need a video on him,
5. Bjerre Jonas from Denmark
Should be interesting to see him play Praga in another ten years for world championship match.
This is crazy reading this in 2022
Great video, very funny
IN SOVIET RUSSIA CHESS PLAYS YOU! *russian accent*
Note to self: Never lose!

benbenbenbenben
22:45, there are 3 answers, Rc7 also leads to mate in 1..
Ben Finegold???
1. Click on the video.
2. Like the video.
3. Watch the lecture.
Ilya Makoveev will be the champion of the world.
Check also 3 years old wonderful chess player Mikhail Osipov (Михаил Осипов) played against Karpov and Karyakin. Just 3 YEARS OLD, DAMN!!!
And Karpov showed no mercy. He crushed that kid and made him cry. Tripled his pawns and everything
Ben always makes me laugh
Ben is hilarious!
Ben's wit is Grand master
22:53 Rc5 also mates ! the same number of moves!
your comic skills have improved lol
How old is Arjun and how much is he rated?
Why are Ben's videos so awesome? The answer is fries.
Didn't Carlsen play everything too up until a point when he started playing like everybody else.
ben simon please if you can possibly do it, can we have some audience reaction shots? I can hear some of the audience giggling and it would be great if you could get just a few seconds of them. Thanks. I understand if it's not possible because you can't afford a second camera.
privacy of the kids
Burnthesof reaction shot of Mike Kummer would be gold even if you can't show anyone else
Ah man what a beautiful moment at 18:50, "black should play... Arjen?" "the opposite of knight h8".
Arjun*
"In Soviet Russia chess plays you"
I love Feingold's lectures so much. I'm sure he is very busy or maybe just over The whole lecture thing but I wish St. Louis Chess center would offer him some cold hard cash to bring him out of retirement - just like fischer the 80s. Say 2 Gs a lecture
Cough 3 moves lead to checkmate in 2, Rd7, Rg5 and Rc7, not 2.
who is Arjun.?...I mean , how strong is he ?...he spotted Rh3 pretty quickly!
17:14 the greerk gift
how to see Ben Live ?
+ludo gi Move to St.-Louis!
Right, Arjen?
checkmate with the pawn I remember when my friend checkmate me with his pawn it was a sad day for me
at 29:45 i was like wait if bg2. isnt that mate
Some wait for new Game of thrones episodes. I wait for new Finegold videos :megusta:
arjen is there
22:35 Ben missed Rc5!! Also mating in two! ;)
Did you mean Rc7?
+Weitiong Teng Yeah
I do nothing :) chess are too complected to be the best there. I feel proud to see this being from Russia. Will follow Makoveev's career:)
what happened to the kid?
yasser even -273 wont heal those burns damn
"In Soviet Russia chess plays you" I love this guy omg x)
22:50 rc5 ALSO BEN
he could play kf8 plan of Rd7 "GM"
I don't understand, so this kid plays any opening he wants but does he actually know the theory well or does he just make half of it up as he goes along? Most strong players stick to a limited number of opening moves which they've studied.
What was that Yasser joke about?
which one?
wow. This was me at 7 o_0
8 yr olds i know play Nd6 - ROFL and True!!
Predicting Carlsen was so smart from that kid 🎉
Wasn't this Makoveev guy caught cheating recently? Very suspicious ain't it?
Wasn't Makoveev caught cheating in a blitz junior championship? His moves do seem strange for a kid that says he trains with a coach for only 2 hours per week.
+SilentKek can you link that? sad to hear, certainly hope is not the case (of course if you're right you're right, don't mean to be confrontational :))
+ratfacefuckful Im not sure if i can put links in the comments, but here it is:www.chessdom.com/16-players-proceeded-to-foa-world-juniors-blitz-championship-final/
+SilentKek Or just google "is makoveev cheating" as i did :)
+ratfacefuckful and here's an interview: worldschoolschess.com/ilya-makoveevs-father-he-likes-everything-which-gives-him-a-chance-not-to-go-to-school/
+SilentKek Dude, being disqualified for cheating once doesn't make him any worse of a player.
Challenge: 0:26
Arjun is so cute. Can we see Arjun?
ben simon laughing lol
This kid was caught cheating already and disqualified from a tournament.
You, with the wrong answer!
fATHER
I think alejandro ranirez is best
Over 6 years later, January 2023, his ELO is still around 2300. I guess he stopped trying becoming an IM.
And then they lose at Hockey 😂
Oh Ben
First
12:17 lol.
If you are watching this your kid is the worst I don't care who you are
Hahahhahahahah
yasser dislike the video
