    This is excellent! No dribble talking about your channel, promoting products or companies. To the point and even though I don't have the tools or garage to tackle this job, I probably could tackle it with your informative video.
    Thank you - I'm sharing it.

    Holy crap. What an excellent video, very informative from begining to end!
    Just got a driver side front cv axle replaced. Sundial had to come out, in order to fit a new axle seal, now it's slowly leaking.
    How do I know, or reset the sundial plate so it doesn't leak anymore. The shop I took it to, removed sun dial and I'm sure they didn't count the turns like you did.

    What is the proceedure for adjusting the preload ? Thanks.

    • @AutoBuddynz
      @AutoBuddynz  Місяць тому

      @@martinfleming759 Its an involved procedure. The transmission has to be removed from the vehicle. The transfer case in most instances has to be separated. Then you can proceed to setting the spin torque, then checking backlash with a dial gauge. You can then check the gear tooth pattern with bearing blue or similar. This is just a rough outline.

      Just follow this video for the approx turns. Then check for binding at the diff. Drive it and see, if you hear any abnormal noise then do not continue driving for too long

    • @xbassist9x
      @xbassist9x 2 роки тому

      just had that happen changing the drivers side CV axle on my 07 leggy (na). Apparently it's from the black rubber seal mounted in the port where the axle inserts into the diff. The spring is there to squeeze the inner layer of the ring seal onto the axle to prevent leaking. I thought I'd get away with not putting the spring ringlet back in, as it got crimped when removing the axle, but now I have a slow diff leak on that side 2 days later. Diff seal kit is $20 on Amazon. Good luck to both of us.

    No need to take the housing out, just pop that seal out with a flat pry bar. Then a "seal install" tool to drive the new one in.

    • @AutoBuddynz
      @AutoBuddynz  Рік тому +1

      Yes this is correct for the axle seal. However the Sundial has to be removed in order to replace the oring as seen in the video.

    • @AutoBuddynz
      @AutoBuddynz  2 роки тому

      By play are you referring to the preload of the front diff? There is a backlash adjustment which can be performed if your sure you know where the play is from.
