I found a very cheap thin plastic doll bed for 25 cents at thrift shop perfect size for my daughters little 12 inch fairy I made her (I make reborn dolls) I have a CD shelf with CD covers modge podged onto sides I made as a teenager not knowing it was a thing but it's still in great shape I'm 48! It sparked an idea to print out retro looking paper patterns and I covered the bed! It looks so freaking adorable! It's so amazing how such simple ingredients create so many beautiful art pieces! I love love love your color choices and I am looking up paper napkins now to see what's available! I bought modge podge ultra it's a spray bottle and it doesn't work? Then accidentally got the "paper on paper" version then finally what I think is classic all purpose one. I wonder what the difference is between this and acrylic varnishes? Or just plain glue.....
@@faffdesigns I do know the difference after attempt to use the higher priced ultra spray glue and sealer modge podge that says on package to spray desired surface then add whatever 3d objects and such then respray. That sounded so cool and well...unreal ...and it doesn't work at all for anything I tried. No way it can hold a small object it can't hold a piece of paper hahaha so ya don't waste money on it! I have several types of varnishes and sealers that dry clear ECT....I am going to test each product out and see if I can use! I'm making magic wands now I've slowly made them over years and gifted them but I'd like to add to my Etsy shop. Reborn dolls and magic wands .... typically me weird!
Yes you could try that way. I don’t mind an odd wrinkle especially if it’s getting distressed but I think the iron method works well for a wrinkle free finish. You could also try using a top coat instead of decoupage glue as they’re not as sticky and give you more time to manoeuvre the paper
Hi Erica, I contacted the manufacture of the napkin to find out if they could shrink the image a tiny bit just to suit me and my project but alas the answer was no.
Wow, this is absolutely beautiful 😍❤

I agree! So much fun using simple ingredients. I’m not sure about the difference between the products you mentioned!

Does the color on the napkin fade eventually?
Not if you seal it with varnish
Can l use reg clear glue in place of clear coat?
Yes you can
@@faffdesigns thank you for your prompt reply!
SUPERBE...😊❤
😀
WOW...

A lady I worked with used napkins too
They work so well 😃
Bravo
😀
When I apply the top coat my napkin wrinkles. How do I prevent this?
It sounds like you might be using too much topcoat. If you have too much moisture then it’s more likely to wrinkle
Thank you. I literally feel like as soon as I touch the brush to the napkin it wrinkles but I’ll definitely be trying it again.
What glue is this?
I’m using Clear Coat which is a topcoat for sealing paint from Dixie Belle but it can be used for decoupage too
Can you use mod podge?
Yes you can - I’ve used it before but it is very ‘sticky’ and dries a lot quicker which means it isn’t as forgiving as this method 😀
Can one use Mod podge???
Yes you can, I did for years but find it’s not as easy to work as the product I use now as it’s a lot sticker and not as forgiving 😀
Nice, too much red coming through for me tho. Like you I love using napkins.
Thanks 😃
🇬🇧❤️, Beautiful 🤩
Thank you!

Thanks!
Please list all the tools needed. I’ve never heard of some of them & have no idea how to spell.
Hi! All the tools are linked in the main video on my channel 🩵
I have tried so many times, but still wrinkles......Can it be, Im using the wrong glue.....? Feels kind of thick and the napkin gets stucked....
What glue are you using?
@@faffdesigns decoupage glue, but maybe its to old and thick.... I will try to ad some water in ordinary glue, and try the iron method...
Yes you could try that way. I don’t mind an odd wrinkle especially if it’s getting distressed but I think the iron method works well for a wrinkle free finish. You could also try using a top coat instead of decoupage glue as they’re not as sticky and give you more time to manoeuvre the paper
