Thank you for sharing, lovely projects 😘 To seal/varnish decoupage I use Polyvine decorators varnish or heavy duty wood varnish. Both of them can be applied to almost everything, also they are waterproof, anti uv and heavy duty wood varnish is also heat proof (good for coaster). They can also make napkins background transparent- good for decoupage napkins on dark backgrounds 😅
Well I thought they were better B4 all you had to to on that spoon is use a gentle sandpaper and oil it with veg oil that's what I do if it's not broke don't fix it well at least it gave you a job to do I suppose kept you busy for 5 .
Well, I'm watching from Victoria, Australia, as far south as one can be on the mainland. I think it's all beautiful. Thanks for showing me your techniques for decoupaging.
Hey! I'm from Washington state too! Port Orchard! Very cute projects! I love the leaf dish, but really all of them. I do a lot of decoupage, i love it!
The candy dish is beautiful! I'd seal the back with any clear acrylic spray, glossy or matte, whichever you prefer.I've had good results with Ailene's Clear Gloss Finish Spray. The front doesn't need to be sealed. I'm from Omaha, Nebraska, BTW.
@@yvettejones3977 You should be able to serve food because the spray doesn't go on the front of the dish, only the back. I'm not sure about washing it, though. I don't think the spray will protect against water, so washing the outside of the dish might be a problem.
I would seal it with Dishwasher Safe Mod Podge. It needs to cure but when it does, you should be able to wash it. I suggest that you wash it by hand though.
I got a clear, water based, primer and sealer, Home Depo, for my walls. This works well where spray sealers are used, but cheaper! Use with a nylon brush.
It was absolutely the best move that my husband and I have made. I was born California, been to Texas, then Alaska. I lived in Vancouver, Washington, but nothing beats Idaho. Coeur d' Alene was starting to get too busy for us. So we moved out to Kellogg and love the laid back easy quiet life.
@@mariehampton740 We have looked at Coeur d' Alene and love the client and vibe, we are going to check out Boise next. It all depends on when we make the move. Thanks again for watching. Have a fantastic week. 💕
Hello this is my first time watching you and I am definitely blessed to be able to run into your video. I’m actually moving and everything that you have in this video except for this spoon was getting ready to donate. Then I ran across your video. I’m like oh my god that’s what I could do with that stuff that I have so I guess it won’t be donated. Thank you for showing this video. I have to save this now.
Hello Teresa, Thanks you, it is fun to see where everyone is from. Crazy to think how easy it is to communicate with people all over the world. Have a wonderful day 😊
The glass dish, I would suggest finishing it off with dishwasher safe Mod Podge. I know you wouldn't put it in the dishwasher but it will mean you can use it as a plate for food items on special occasions. If need be, it will be safe to wipe clean with a damp cloth and wipe dry. In this way it will turn a display piece into a pretty but useful item. Btw, I am from Townsville Queensland Australia.
I find smoothing out with saran wrap works without tearing the napkin. I either stretch it out and lightly rub it or I crinkle it up and gently rub. Also, there is a glue specifically for napkins by Deco Art.
@@ladyredcrafting I was just looking at some plates the other day that had cloth on them instead of napkins. I wondered how it was done. I think I will try it! Thx again!
Here's a tip for cutting the napkin to fit inside your plate. See if you can find a round object that is just that size, that fits right into the plate. Then you can just trace around it on to the napkin, and you'll have a circle that is the right size.
