It left you speechless! lol... I watched this movie so much when I was a kid. Such a great cast. Not the strongest movie, but it's good for what it is.
My favorite part of this movie is Carol Kane's Ghost of Christmas Present. She always plays quirky characters and i love when she winds up and clocks Bill with an uppercut. She also plays Billy Crystal's wife in "The Princess Bride," Simka on the TV show "Taxi," as well as many other roles. Another fun watch with you, V. My best to you for the holidays, and thanks for being so much fun.
Reportedly, she actually tore his lip when she pulled it and he was down for a couple days. He used to ponder whether he was hurt worse by Andie McDowell, in Groundhog Day, or Carol Kane.
I saw this movie when it first came out. The theater was pretty full and when the movie came to an end almost no one left. I guess people just wanted to see Murrays last scene. But then people started singing to the movie and soon the entire theater was singing like idiots! It's still one of the best moments I've experienced in a theater.
A Christmas carol is an amazing example of redemption no matter what version you choose to watch. Good commentary as usual. One thing for sure is that Scrooge is a real pig no matter what version, and I know a few real life Scrooges True Story
@@VerowakReacts You’re probably being sarcastic but it certainly should be a priority. Being able to communicate properly is, at least to me, quite satisfying.
Two of Bill Murray's brothers are in this movie. Most people recognize Brian Doyle Murray as Bill's dad in the 'Christmas past' segment, but his other brother John Murray plays his brother James as well. John Murray tried his hand at acting but never really made a name for himself. However, he's also in Elf, the runner up for your poll. He plays 'man in the elevator'.
When she turned off the sound for the film, she probably accidentally turned off the sound for her recording too :D I have no idea about this technology, so don't take this comment too seriously 😛
The Ghost of Christmas Past is the lead singer from way back the New York Dolls. He also had a singer gimmick in the 80's called Buster Poindexter. Great crossover talent like Meat Loaf or Bowie.
"The Muppet's Christmas Carol," has comedic elements, but is actually a pretty faithful adaptation of the book by Charles Dickens. Michael Caine plays Ebenezer Scrooge, and he does so in a 100% serious manner. He gives a realistic, emotional performance as if he wasn't surrounded by a cast of puppets. Other versions that most people consider the best or most significant include: The 1951 version starring Alastair Sim 1984 version starring George C. Scott 1999 version starring Patrick Stewart 1938 film with Reginald Owen There are several more live-action movies and too many cartoon versions to list. "Mickey's Christmas Carol," by Disney is often cited as a fan favorite cartoon version.
Fired on Christmas Eve, nice 'Elliot Loudermilk' is Bobcat Goldthwait, who'd been a loud screamin' long-haired crazy-voiced comedian🤪 (:like Sam Kinison;) & he'd been in "Police Academy", etc...
For more Bill Murray, consider checking out: "Meatballs", "Caddyshack", "What About Bob", "Groundhog Day", and for something a little different "St Vincent"
Thanks, Verowak! ☃ Just in case you're curious, my favorite version of Dickens' tale is SCROOGE/A CHRISTMAS CAROL (1951) with the musical SCROOGE (1970) close behind. Most versions are worth seeing. Each try to add or emphasize something from the original. 🔸 Your whole video the audio sounded good... but there was no audio in the "thoughts and review" section.
I thought it was kind of funny that Bill Murray says "You... Who was making noise through the whole movie." And you said "Not me" then suddenly you go silent for the rest of the video. lol
This was a nice little film, but I thought the scene with him and the ghost of his old boss was really the phenomenal part. You could tell they genuinely spent time on the effects and the dynamic between the two. It made the encounter rather haunting and set the stage for everything to come.
Fantastic reaction to one of the greatest holiday movies, ever. Sorry I missed your summation. I can’t think of a bad Bill Murray movie. If you haven’t, Groundhog Day or any of the Wes Anderson movies in which Murray is included are amazing.
Oh Verowak kept thinking they were taping the Scrooge TV show when all the promos are about it si g a LIVE show on Christmas Eve with all those cameos and live shots from an artist painting the Berlin Wall and the Pope blessing folks in Rome etc. 🤦♂️ Such a fun version of A Christmas Carol. Very 80s; very Bill Murray.
Something I noticed in the movie, that I believe no reactor has mentioned... When Frank is startled by an actor who he thinks is the Ghost of Christmas Future, he elbows his secretary Grace in the face. That was real. Bill Murray really did hit Alfre Woodard by mistake.
Glad you like Scrooged its one of my favourites and do not worry about the outro been meaning to learn to lip read anyways, I imagine you were telling everyone to have a nice christmas, you too I will I also got my lemonade
I wish "The Night the Reindeer Died," starring Lee Majors was a real thing. That would be my favorite Christmas movie of all time. 🤣Majors was a lot more well-known back when "Scrooged" was made. He starred in two popular TV shows called "The Six Million Dollar Man" and "The Fall Guy."
I never understood why stealing cabs from other people in NY is a thing, especially in movies. Is there a huge shortage? I know the doormen get kickbacks from them, but why don't they just allow ENOUGH cabs? Does the Mayor's office have some reason to restrict them so much?
So bummed I can't read lips to hear what you thought. You should watch every version and retelling of "A Christmas Carol". Every one seems to have it's own take that adds to the value of the story, and the story is a great one. The "more gravy about you than grave" is the line that really made me curious what the Dickens story actually contained. Every telling seems to add value (I haven't watched the Muppets or any animated telling, so I can't vouch for them).
Thank you for your reaction. My vote for my favorite ghost is....the ghost of Christmas present!!! I love her brutality. Merry Christmas ⛄️ christmas 🎄.
If you want another version of A Christmas Carol, first stop should always be the best one - the 1951 version with Alastair Sim. If you want to see another comedic adaptation of A Christmas Carol, then Blackadder's Christmas Carol is one I'd recommend. It would help if you've seen the Blackadder TV series first though - series 2 and 3 especially.
the muppet one is one of the most faithful adaptions, just has puppet frogs, bears and pigs etc. instead of humans. Tho i am bias as i love the muppets, its a fantastic movie
First comment? I'm never first. Lol. One of Bill's best imho. He's been great over the years in playing a cynical butt-head. Lesson learned in all thank goodness
Hi Verowak, Merry Christmas. You want to see more Bill Murray at his normal, happy, loving, giving and caring self? Try a movie called "Groundhog Day" or another one, "Kingpin" With co-stars Woody Harrelson and Randy Quaid. Not a Christmas movie but is funny ANY time of year! And great reaction, as always, thanks again for sharing.
Please watch The Muppet Movie (1979) before watching A Muppet Christmas Carol (1992) as I think it’s good to get to know the characters as themselves before seeing them play other characters. Plus the cameos in The Muppet Movie will blow your mind😊
Is it weird that I watched the ending all the way through and tried to figure out what was said? I really want to know. There was sooo much. But great movie and reaction. Thank you. Have a good day and happy holidays.😊
2:35 I don’t know if anyone, at any point, has actually _made_ a shoot-‘em-up action thriller set in Santa’s Workshop. It seems like a really awesome idea; the kind of thing I would probably like to see. If anyone’s aware of such a movie, let me know.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays Vero. Be safe and Happy this holiday season. Sending nothing but love and thanks.
Don't mention Back To The Future. It's hard to believe that Western Union would deliver the letter and why did the car even go to the past if it wasn't going 88 mph.
I thought this was hilarious when I was 13 watching it in the theater. But the older I get (almost 50 now...) the more unbearable some of Frank's actions become, and I'm not sure i like this movie anymore.
Reactor removes earbuds and then audience can't hear the video. Only true engineers have that kind of control. (Engineers can do practically anything -- it's why you try to stay on their good side.) Mer Crissmus.

His falling when he gets out was not planned btw. He slipped and fell and everyone laughed their asses off so it ended up in the movie

Bill's brother in this is his real brother, and his "dad" is also his brother.
Don't look now, but his brothers party guest is also Bill's brother Joel.
thanks i dont know that
Yep, this film must have the record for containing the highest number of Murrays.
Funny, but I've seen literally scores of videos on UA-cam of pets watching and reacting to television. Prophetic.
