There's another humourous part. For us older folks, Sean Connery will always be James Bond. To see him playing someone who can't handle fights and actions is funny
Interestingly, Spielberg really wanted to make a 007 film. When he wasn't permitted, he created the Indy character. There is a subtle nod to the fact at the start of Temple of Doom, when he's showing out in his white tuxedo jacket.
Especially since all the people try to sell him desert survival gear, food and water, and he just blithely waves them off, "No, thank you madam. Fish make love in it."

The joke about Indy being named after the dog goes deeper. George Lucas had an Alaskan Malamute and named him Indiana. He talked about how his dog would sit in the passenger's seat in his car like he was Lucas' co -pilot. That is where he got the idea of Chewbacca being Han's co-pilot.

@@VerowakReacts A great Connery flick to check out is The Rock. (1996) Fan theories call it the last Connery "Bond" film. As in the back story for Connery's character meshes somewhat with the last time Connery played Bond, and who he is. As a Canadian, I appreciate your "hi-bye" shout-out to Canada as the plane flew over Newfoundland! However, I feel compelled to point out that in 1938 it was still the Dominion of Newfoundland and wouldn't join the Canadian Confederation until 1949. My province of British Columbia was part of the Confederation at that time though, having joined in 1871... which I still fondly remember like it was yesterday.

The opening sequence showing the audience where Indy picked up all his accessories and affectations is great. When Solo did the same thing with another famous Harrison Ford character, they stretched it into the entire movie. That wasn't so great.
There was no need for any more movies in this franchise after this imo. Last Crusade had a perfect ending for the saga with the four of them riding off into the sunset together. Sometimes stories need to just be left alone.
Not sure if you’ve already watched the movie Dogma (Kevin Smith, 1999), but there’s a scene in that movie where Silent Bob (Kevin Smith) throws Ben Affleck and Matt Damon off the train, and then turns to concerned passengers and just says, “no ticket”. Anyone who has seen this movie gets the reference! But sadly, these days many people don’t get it.
The next two are better than temple of doom, that's for sure. You are 100% correct on the nostalgia. It's really pathetic how much hate people fling towards new movies just because they saw similar ones when they were kids. Willy was far from the only criticism of temple of doom, though being such a ridiculously sexist cliche after the awesomeness of Marion is certainly a major problem. Completely shitting on every aspect of Indian culture and religion was the bigger problem.
Interesting tidbit, in the movie Dogma, Silent Bob does the same exact thing that Indy did with the no ticket scene. Even afterwards, says "No Ticket." It's hilarious.
Great reaction like always. love this one for me this one is the best. A fun-fact Sir Sean Connery was only, like, 12 years older than Harrison Ford... playing his dad :P The main reason Connery was cast as Indy's dad is because, as James Bond, Bond is the father of Indy. Not in canon, but Spielberg wanted to make a James Bond movie after Close Encounters. He couldn't because the rights belonged to the Broccoli family & EON productions. Spielberg's buddy, George Lucas, was like, "Hey, I have something better than Bond...Indiana Jones." Keep up the good work.
Besides some of the James Bond films, Sean Connery is also in The Hunt For Red October, First Knight and The Rock. Young Indy is played by River Phoenix, the late older brother of Joaquin Phoenix. The actors playing Walter Donovan and Adolf Hitler are both in The Empire Strikes Back
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is one of my favorite Sean Connery films. It's like an 1890s Avengers story. Sir McLennan was Peter Jackson's second choice for Gandalf, after Sir Connery. Notably Saruman was the Man With the Golden Gun.
That’s right! Spielberg also want to do a James Bond Movie, didn’t get the chance but Lucas came to him with the idea for Indiana Jones which is a James Bond type character
Harrison Ford and Sean Connery are a fantastic duo... what other actors make a great team?

It's the only thing that came to mind 🤣
@VerowakReacts I have seen this multiple times and it never occurred to me once, plus what does he eat?
@@chrisconnell1075 Rats, snakes? 😂
@VerowakReacts maybe the dudes from that sect that protect the grail supply him
There was no need for any more movies in this franchise after this imo.
4:12 - Aaaaaand that's how he got the scar on his chin.
RIP River Phoenix
They said he was a better actor than his brother at the time.
This is still my favorite trilogy. All three Indiana Jones movies are perfection.
Great reaction, as always. Really enjoyed watching you along with my 500th time on the film. LOL
As we say in Texas; y'all be safe.
"Indiana" is Indiana Jones's "Rosebud".
There's so much about this one that I love, making it my favorite. I'm sure Sean Connery enjoyed getting to play a rather comedic role.
My favorite of the entire series . 😊
No..the last two are really that bad. Especially the very last. I could not sit through it.
This movie is just absolute joy. Loved your reaction too!
another great reaction , well done.
Thank you!! 😊
No ticket! Kevin Smith used that very line as Silent Bob in his 1999 movie Dogma after throwing Bartleby and Loki off from the train. Lmao 😂
Interesting tidbit, in the movie Dogma, Silent Bob does the same exact thing that Indy did with the no ticket scene. Even afterwards, says "No Ticket." It's hilarious.
Great reaction like always. love this one for me this one is the best. A fun-fact Sir Sean Connery was only, like, 12 years older than Harrison Ford... playing his dad :P
The main reason Connery was cast as Indy's dad is because, as James Bond, Bond is the father of Indy.
"I love you" on the eyelids and I'm sold!
I need to plan my reactions more when it's a sequel!! 🤣
You are a hoot to watch movies with! I love it.
DON'T CALL ME JUNIOR!!!
Sean Connery is casted as Indiana father because he was the first James Bond. James Bond was the inspiration for Indiana Jones.
That’s right! Spielberg also want to do a James Bond Movie, didn’t get the chance but Lucas came to him with the idea for Indiana Jones which is a James Bond type character
Favourite quote from the film - 'Goose stepping morons should try reading books instead of burning them'
'Look at the doggo...' remember that image, when his role is revealed.
I really like this one. This one was my favorite, but including the original is my absolute favorite.
