There's another humourous part. For us older folks, Sean Connery will always be James Bond. To see him playing someone who can't handle fights and actions is funny

Also, when Elsa was kissing Indy, his look was like "when I way younger women kissed me..." Another nod to James Bond. ^^

Interestingly, Spielberg really wanted to make a 007 film. When he wasn't permitted, he created the Indy character. There is a subtle nod to the fact at the start of Temple of Doom, when he's showing out in his white tuxedo jacket.

No Indy & Henry aren't immortal with one drink from the grail. They were both healed of injuries by one drink from it, and COULD have everlasting life, were they to stay in the chamber with it, continuing to drink from it, to heal them ongoingly, ("He who drinks from"... not he who has a drink) That's what the knight must've been occasionally doing, while still growing old & weak, without food. He subsisted on the healing power of the grail, & expected to die once vanquished, but it isn't a fountain of youth.

This was the perfect ending to a near perfect Trilogy. All could stand on their own but together they were spectacular. RIDING OFF ON HORSE BACK at the end was just perfect . As a Canadian, I appreciate your "hi-bye" shout-out to Canada as the plane flew over Newfoundland! However, I feel compelled to point out that in 1938 it was still the Dominion of Newfoundland and wouldn't join the Canadian Confederation until 1949. My province of British Columbia was part of the Confederation at that time though, having joined in 1871... which I still fondly remember like it was yesterday.

I've been at my company for so long, and I've seen so many faces come and go, that I don't even bother learning names anymore. 😢
Funny bit; I had a co-worker approach me once and say, _"I know you're new here, but..."_ and everyone started busting out laughing.

The music in the entire trilogy is fantastic, but I always loved the Grail theme. It serves as a reminder of the power of the Holy Grail and the history the Joneses are chasing after, as well as their own personal history.

Not sure if you’ve already watched the movie Dogma (Kevin Smith, 1999), but there’s a scene in that movie where Silent Bob (Kevin Smith) throws Ben Affleck and Matt Damon off the train, and then turns to concerned passengers and just says, “no ticket”. Anyone who has seen this movie gets the reference! But sadly, these days many people don’t get it.

The next two are better than temple of doom, that's for sure. You are 100% correct on the nostalgia. It's really pathetic how much hate people fling towards new movies just because they saw similar ones when they were kids.
Willy was far from the only criticism of temple of doom, though being such a ridiculously sexist cliche after the awesomeness of Marion is certainly a major problem. Completely shitting on every aspect of Indian culture and religion was the bigger problem.

Great reaction like always. love this one for me this one is the best. A fun-fact Sir Sean Connery was only, like, 12 years older than Harrison Ford... playing his dad :P
The main reason Connery was cast as Indy's dad is because, as James Bond, Bond is the father of Indy. Not in canon, but Spielberg wanted to make a James Bond movie after Close Encounters. He couldn't because the rights belonged to the Broccoli family & EON productions. Spielberg's buddy, George Lucas, was like, "Hey, I have something better than Bond...Indiana Jones." Keep up the good work.

Besides some of the James Bond films, Sean Connery is also in The Hunt For Red October, First Knight and The Rock. Young Indy is played by River Phoenix, the late older brother of Joaquin Phoenix. The actors playing Walter Donovan and Adolf Hitler are both in The Empire Strikes Back

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is one of my favorite Sean Connery films. It's like an 1890s Avengers story. Sir McLennan was Peter Jackson's second choice for Gandalf, after Sir Connery. Notably Saruman was the Man With the Golden Gun.
